mispelling defense with defence
I'm :whoosh: as well. We use "defense" here in the states and "defence" is used elsewhere in the world (i.e. - England). I guess Johnny doesn't get out much. And judging by his long list....that might be because of his general distaste for people....just sayin'.....
I don't dislike people  I'll accept that the word "defence" is used abroad, so I'll retract that one.

isn't misspell not spelled "mispell?"
HA! I didn't catch that. Oh Johnny....

People misspell words all over the place here. I'm allowed one or two  I'll take this as an indication that I"ve struck a nerve or two with my list.

"Shark move"

"I've studied his film"

I mean who do you think you are, Ron Jawarsky? Also, do you have a film projector, or do you have to go to the library?

Abbreviating anyone's name with the surname of Jackson as X-Jax (X being the first letter of the player's first name).

"can you please unwrap that statement?"I HATE that one
I always enjoyed when someone posts an opinion and then someone posts, "Link!" Yeah, the post above, that was my opinion, you want me to direct link you to that? The one you just quoted?

"he made a football move." what does that even mean?

"he has a high football IQ" so the guys' not an idiot.

So and So will do such and such BARRING INJURY

Lets get one thing straight, everyone has the same chance of getting injured. If someone has an injured past it does not mean he will get injured again. So, when comparing players, projecting stats etc. Leave out the barring injury phrase from your posts. It's meaningless to players going forward as every single player has a chance of getting injured.

This one: "The light has finally switched on!"

Who gives a dang about light bulbs.

The majority of these clowns are so dim they'd struggle to reach night light status when fully lit!

Can they run the dang ball or not?

Yup, i'ts gotta be something about the dang light going on or clicking on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread was funny and I'm guilty of using some of these expressions, have to work on trying to limit a few of them. Several of them though are useful.

"this kid"
Or its even more annoying variant, just starting a sentence with "Kid..."example: "Jahvid Best was this year's steal of the draft. Kid can flat out play."just because a bunch of hacks use phrases like this it doesn't make you, or them, look knowledgable and wise.

Not a phrase per se but I LOVE the "Well if he didn't have that 60 yard rush, he only rushed for 2.2 yards per carry".... um the 60 yarder counts even if it's in garbage time

:blackdot: It's not like every RB who averages 5 yards a carry is going to get about 5 yards EVERY carry. That's why it's an average.

These are just gripes, but it's a fun thread anyway.

* "I don't own him in any leagues, but..." Sure you don't. You're in 15 leagues and you don't own this particular guy in any of them? Even if you don't, that statement doesn't mean you're objective. Maybe you missed out on him. Maybe you tried to trade for him and failed. Nobody will give your opinion more weight becuse of that statement (and I've used it myself).

* "Shhh." Yeah, you're on board. We get it. But if you really wanted to keep it quiet you wouldn't bump the thread back to the top. You just want to say "I already knew that."

* Complaints about MNF announcers. I know; they're all terrible. You probably have a button on your remote called "mute."
