I can only assume that people look back at Delhomme's monster season and see the weapons and think he'll rekindle the spark. Seems like betting on a lot of things to fall into place to me.Would love to hear from people who picked Delhomme; I agree with the others that it isn't close and would be interested in the other side.
Maybe those votes are from some cajun buddies. LOL!ETA: Not that there's anything wrong with that, simply sayin'. Hey, I was a big Bobby Hebert fan just for his interviews if nothin' else.BTW, he's doing color on Saints radio game coverage now.I can only assume that people look back at Delhomme's monster season and see the weapons and think he'll rekindle the spark. Thanks for weighing in. Should have mentioned this in my earlier post, but I was wondering if the Jake votes were based on confidece in Jake/Car. or lack of in Cutler/Den. I wouldn't mind having them as my two QBS, taking Cutler 1st.I'd argue that Denver OL is suspect resulting in not enough time for Cutler to throw and the running game is mediocre at best allowing teams to focus on stopping the pass. The Carolina WRs are better, too, making this a close call - definitely not a runaway as suggested here.
Um. are you a Panthers fan?Saying Cutler is better than Delhomme even without considering health is myopic. Delhomme outplayed Brady in the Pats / Panthers SB and only lost the MVP because Brady's team won the game.
True, he had big games the 1st two weeks; by weekly average, he ranked #3 vs #17 for Cutler.Delhome's PPG last year was great before injury and he has more talent than ever before. In the first 2 games, Delhome averaged 3 TDs and around 300 yards passing. That is about the same as the best 2 of 16 games for Cutler.
I think Delhome has LOTS more weapons. But I am not arguing who is more talented or who is more injury prone. I just think Delhome has lots more upside if he can stay healthy. One of the most annoying aspects of FBG stats and discussion is sole reliance on totals (sums) rather than any consideration of averages. For me. I mean, when I guy sits I get the value of the replacement, not zero (usually). So to have a btter ranking of players I would think the average value of a typical replacement should be inserted.Without that, I will take averages over sums.I'd take Cutler any day all day. Delhomme is way too injury-prone and Cutler has a big arm and many weapons in Denver. Although, I do believe the Panthers are going to do better than the Broncos this year.
I picked Delhomme because I believe Carolina has a much better running game to compliment and take pressure off the passing game. I'm still not sold on Cutler completely, plus he plays in a tougher division against tougher defenses.I'll take Jake here.Would love to hear from people who picked Delhomme; I agree with the others that it isn't close and would be interested in the other side.
How is he too injury-prone? The first game he ever missed as a starter was in 2006 when he hit his throwing thumb on a helmet against Philadelphia, and he missed 3 games due to that. The following year he hurt his elbow and had the surgery. Those are the only two times he has ever been hurt causing him to miss games. I don't consider that injury-prone.Delhomme is way too injury-prone
So all threads comparing two players should be relegated to the AC ?GB the AC questions![]()
