Is anyone worried long term about DJax's injuries? I ask because he now has a sore foot, and had knee surgery not long ago. I do not want to get into the predictability of injuries, but we each have our own risk tolerances when it comes to injuries.

DJax has had a very good year so far averaging 5 catches, 80 yds and almost a TD each game. Those are very good numbers. In addition, he was productive after coming back late last season.

DJax is still young. He will be 28 years old next month.

Is DJax someone you are looking to Buy or Sell?

Jackson is basically in a pseudo-contract year. Thanks to Burleson and Branch, he's now the 3rd highest-paid WR on the team and won't be playing for his current contract when 2007 rolls around. Either Seattle extends Jackson with a new deal, or Jackson gets traded. Heck, rumor has it he may be catching passes from Phil Rivers next season?

No matter the scenario that will play out in the offseason, D-Jack will fight tooth and nail to play a full schedule this year. Nothing will elevate his stock more at this point than proving he can stay healthy.

Bottom line: I'd be buying Jackson. He has talent, motivation and if he stays healthy he'll have leverage. Powerful combination.

Right now I think Jackson is a hold or buy if you dont have him. He is only a point behind Holt in my league for best WR do date. Even after a slow start.

Burelson has done nothing to earn his keep. I don't see the Seahawks keeping him at that price especialy now that they have Branch.

I don't think Jackson is going anywhere but if he did he would probobly successful in any offense.

traded for him in the preseason. caught a lot of flak for giving up Dunn for him. i've been happy with the investment so far.

i dealt him in preaseason for a 1st rd pick in a keep-3 league. got wary of the Branch/injury talk and already had steve smith, TJ, Glenn, (and colston, though who knew??). anyway, i have no regrets. he seems like the riskiest of any of Steve-o, TJ, and Colston, so i feel ok about it. wouldn't look to acquire either, given his contract uncertainty. look what happened to randy moss when he moved. and antonio bryant. and eric moulds. for every plaxico or TO, theres another that shts the bed. with injuries and an uncertain future, i'd be selling.

With Wallace at QB, DJax is worthless in any scoring system. Sell him for whatever you can get, he's useless now.

great responses, thanks guys. Grouse, I appreciate the insight on DJax's options and his contract.

I would be of the belief that if DJax went to SD, his numbers might drop a little and his upside might be limited.

You appear to be stating facts, but this is total speculation. He's hardly the third highest paid WR on the team. It appears you don't fully understand the structure of the Burleson contract.Jackson is locked up for many years. Anyone talking about trades or contracts is making stuff up or simply speculating about what they think may happen. Neiither the team or Jackson have publicly spoke about this.

I thought I remember earlier in the year he was writing something like DB $ on his shoes because he wanted the type of money Branch got. Searched but cant find the link. anyone??

Yea that's correct, the announcers mentioned it during a game once too. Supposedly a joke, but I'm sure it was his way of putting it out there.

eahawks relieved to have reliable Jackson in arsenal

Foot injury won't keep deep threat from Raiders game

By CLARE FARNSWORTH

P-I REPORTER

KIRKLAND -- It took all week, but the Seahawks finally got some positive news on the injury front Friday: Darrell Jackson practiced.

Not only that, Jackson and coach Mike Holmgren said the team's leading receiver will play in Monday night's nationally televised game against the Oakland Raiders at Qwest Field.

"I'm feeling all right," Jackson said after his first practice of the week. "Good enough to play on Monday night, and give our team a little more of a chance to win."

For a team playing without All-Pro running back Shaun Alexander and Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, Jackson's presence is a must if they are to beat the Raiders and reach the halfway point with a 5-3 record.

He sat out Wednesday and Thursday to rest a sore left foot, which was injured when Chiefs cornerback Ty Law rolled into his leg on the Seahawks' third play last week in Kansas City.

Jackson has been a rare constant in the Seahawks' inconsistent offense this season, catching 36 passes for a 16.3-yard average and six touchdowns.

A closer look reveals more of what Jackson has delivered:

# Twenty-one of his receptions have come in scoring drives.

# Twenty-five of his 31 receptions in the past six games have produced first downs.

advertising

# Five of his receptions have been for 40 or more yards.

# Four of his six TD catches have covered 72, 49, 49 and 42 yards.

The long ball is the most surprising because Jackson isn't considered a speed receiver who can beat an opponent deep.

"We're emphasizing it a little bit more," Holmgren said. "When teams play us, we throw a fair amount of medium-range throws, so we kind of sneak up on them when we go deep."

WHAT'S THEIR LINE? With the status of right tackle Sean Locklear (sprained ankle) and left guard Chris Spencer (sore knee) expected to be game-day decisions, Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack will start at left guard and Tom Ashworth is the likely starter at right tackle -- for the second game in a row.

"I had hoped Spencer would practice a little bit today," Holmgren said, "but they kept him inside.
