I have Dashon Goldson in my Dynasty league and have been very pleased with him. At the beginning of the season I read some stuff about how he was impressing coaches and had worked his way up through the depth chart. I nabbed him off of the waivers and he has been a consistent tackling stud. Watching play, he reminded me a bit of TPO with the way he flies around the field with reckless abandon. However, I have read some things about how he is not very good in coverage (as I saw a bit as well as I watched he and the 49ers). I have some guys in my league who have been begging me to trade him, so was wondering if anyone knew much about him and if he is going to be a staple in the future or if his coverage skills may push him to the bench as other talent is added or developed.

Played college ball for Washington Huskies... Played mostly FS, some CB... Drafted 4th round '07....

Goldson has good coverage skills, good enough to have played CB in college, don't see that pushing him to the pine. Would make a pretty good cover-2 corner. He was having some trouble staying healthy his first two seasons. He looks like the real deal to me. As he gains more experience he should only get better. Not sure we've seen the best of him yet. Really showed what he's capable of against Arizona on MNF.

His value is high right now and not too difficult to find hidden gems at the DB position. Not sure how willing I'd be to trade him, depends on depth of league and rosters, would certainly listen to offers.

While it's risky to ignore the free safety position in today's trend toward interchangeable safeties, I think it's going to be very difficult for Goldson to repeat his 2009 numbers next year.

Michael Lewis was often injured this season. The Niners finished fifth in the league in pass attempts faced and completions allowed. The total tackle numbers of their corners was below average -- 139 solos among the top four. Should the Niners improve at SILB or CB this offseason, Goldson may have a similar drop in numbers as Antrel Rolle did from 2008-2009.

The DB position is too deep and fluid to not sell high here if the opportunity presents itself.
