The Chiefs ran the ball 48 times yesterday. It's pretty unlikely that he'll see anything like that the rest of the year, but he could still put up some nice tackle numbers. I do believe he's still subbed out in nickel packages, though, unless I'm mistaken.
Still too much dime (and seven DB packages) in Seattle to trust him, but I think I saw him on the field rather than Herring on a nickel snap or two during the second half last week. Most notable to me last week was that Lofa Tatupu was hardly able to move laterally at times. With Aaron Curry on the line of scrimmage often, Hawthorne has a clear path to many pursuit tackles and other chances in the box that he might otherwise be a half step late to if Tatupu was at full strength.
Anybody know if something has change with Hawthornes situation recently?The guy has been racking up tackles 4 of the last 5 weeks Solo Ast Total 9 Nov 7 - 9 3 12 10 Nov 14 - 2 0 2 11 Nov 21 - 10 2 12 12 Nov 28 - 7 5 12 13 Dec 5 - 11 3 14

Watched parts of the last few Seahawk games specifically for Hawthrone. I believe his increased in production is because he started out the season in a platoon - injuries changed that. Regardless he is on the field now for most snaps - as others have said, he still misses out on some nickel snaps and I have not seen him at all in dime situations.IMO - he is the linebacker to own on that team (Curry plays on the line too much for my liking - Lofa looks slow) and is a must start against run heavy teams. Hawthrone has also started out games in a flurry recently - almost double digit tackles by half. Great matchup this week - go ahead and hit the easy button.
