Denarius Moore - CIncinnatti Bengals (3 Viewers)

Nobody could have predicted the death of Al Davis. That was the biggest thing holding back Moore in my opionion and I stated as much. Going forward he has the ability to become the #1 wideout on this team. He can reminds me of Greg Jennings with the way he's continually climbed the depth chart. If he can continue, he can be truly special. It'd take a mighty nice offer to get him off of me in a dynasty.

I disagree with the bolded. Moore is a rookie, so it's not like he's been held back. He had his biggest game as a pro while Davis was alive. He took a backseat to DHB for a few weeks ... after Davis's death. Now, with a new QB who has different abilities than the previous QB, he saw an increase in targets. I don't think there's any connection to Davis either way. I think the only thing holding him back is that he's a rookie WR fighting for targets on a team that's been in flux for much of the season. That said, I agree with the rest and I'm glad I held onto him.

This is probably my 3rd or 4th time I've grabbed him on one team. We'll see if the roller coaster lasts longer than a week this time!

guys, moore has been on the field a ton since week 2. his snap percentage in week 9 was no different than the previous. why he was targeted more i dont know. he did switch from the right to the left to supplant dhb so maybe those routes tend to be of higher precedence. mebbe they fit his skills better. mebbe he just couldnt get open in prior weeks. mebbe campbell didnt trust him or couldnt find him.

IMO the difference in success is Palmer. He is a professional QB, not like Campbell & Boller.
Really? You think Palmer is successful? He lost both games. Moore only caught 4 of 12 targets. A lot that is Palmer overthrowing easy passes. Now Palmer has also had some nice throws. That TD to Ford was pretty. But Jason Campbell was in the process of taking the Raiders to the playoffs, and stats or no, he was leading the way. I don't know if Campbell will ever play again for the Raiders, but I'd still take him pre-injury over CP now and in the future. Of course, injury changes everything. If Moore wasn't continuing his success, a lot of that was on him having some bad games, and a lot of that was the coaching scheme. I don't think it has much to do with who is at QB (whatever opinion you may have of the talents of CP or JC notwithstanding).

Palmer didn't lose the games, the Raiders Defense did. Campbell was a game manager and hasn't had to throw much (300 yd twice in LOSSES and doesn't even crack 200 in 3 other WINS!)>

Yes, but that's results-oriented thnking as they say in poker. It's like calling with 7-2 and the board comes out 7-7-2. It was still a bad call.

Came home from work hoping for 7 points, and am absolutely ####ting myself with happiness at 24pts w/7 remaining in the 4th.

Effing right. He's been sitting on my bench for long enough. After seeing 12 targets last week, I knew this was the week to start him.

This is a great start!!! Was going to start Vincent Brown as my wr3, but didnt do it... Wishing as of now that I did... Hope Laurent Robinson gets wild.

For those who held on tight to moore.. congrats!

Looks like that patience and Palmer is about to pay off for the rest of the season

damn props to those ballsy enough to play him. im terrified of inserting him in my lineup.
Going forward are you?
yes ofc, i remember the debacle that ensued after week 2 and cost me a few leagues already.
Different QB, different coaching philosophy, Ford hurt, DHB in the doghouse. Moore is looking like the defacto WR#1. There I said it.
so things look just about the same now as they did after week 2. i mean, ford was hurt, hue was pimping moore, ppl were slurping campbell for finally emerging and dhb had yet to have a nice game and was considered an afterthought.

Listen to Carson Palmer gush about Denarius Moore. You know the chemistry is there. No way that Moore disappears again. Too much talent. It was coaching that was holding him back. But I think Hue finally gets it.

hue gushed over him all camp and esp after week 2. he then put him the 2nd wr starter and left him there despite pedestrian games. how was hue holding him back? calling the wrong plays? having him run improper routes for his skillset?

Wow, so Carson just said D. Moore could be one of the best in the league if he wanted to. He easily has the ability. A lot of faith in the kid.
