I don't think that I can be any more impressed with a QB as I am with Roethlisberger over the past three weeks. Simply incredible.

OK, so when will people realize just how good Ben is? Just a game manager..... Domination in the 1st half. Let's hope the running game gets rolling and the Steelers can close this game out in the 2nd. :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave:

9-0 at home, AFC Championship game and they are booing.
Given the performance by Denver's 'D' in the first half, you would be hard pressed to find more than a few crowds who wouldn't boo a performance like that.
and btw... where is SSOG? Must be :bag: ing it.
Not everyone sits in front of their computer during every football game.

I like the Steelers to win and I think they'll win handily. Jake is not the kind of QB you want facing the pressure that the Steelers brought last week and today.

Steelers: 31

Denver: 10
It's only halftime but... :goodposting:
:tootyourownhorn:
I think giving *yourself* a :goodposting: should be an automatic "have a nice week".
I'm right so seldom I felt it only right to point it out.
 And self-depricating humor saved you from my ignore list.

Good form. :)

Bus is getting on my nerves im happy that one is coming back. I hate players taking limited roles in teams just to hang on.
You won't be saying that when they let you clean the toilets at McDonalds when you're 67.
:penalty: Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

Can we pretend to be adults, guys?

Really coming into his own the past three weeks Jurb

I hope Plummer comes out clean shaven for the second half.
That would be hilarious. I'd do it if I were him. But I'm not, so I'm talking to you guys and not getting any groupie tail after the game.

Why? The funnier the joke, the more you can get away with. That was hilarious. So, pick up the flag.

I don't get the illegal procedure penalty on the Bettis touchdown that was called back. Hines Ward was on the line of scrimmage, covering the tight end. If it had been a pass play (and the TE had released), it'd be ineligible man down field. But since it was a running play, what was the problem? You have to have seven or more playes on the line of scrimmage. Eight should be okay. What am I missing?
Just a guess, but is it because it then makes the TE an ineligible receiver wearing an eligible number?

What, by helping his team win as the goal line back?
Goal line back is the most overated phrase in football. Almost any NFL quality running back can score from the 1 if that was his only job. Its about the offense line. With Bus case he knows his line but i can guarntee willparker or Veron haes could do the exact same thing or if not the fullback could. running backs get knocked for not having goaline ability but that can change easily. Look at Corey dillon when he was with Cincy he was always knocked as a bad goaline runner, (I rember him tripping over a lineman), now he is praised as a goal line finsher. What israre is aplayer who can do it all and still finsh as Shaun Alexander

I agree. Good recovery.

upon further review, the joke was fount not nearly witty enough to warrant the personal attack. The play stands as called, Keys is charged with a Time-out.

I gotta say, I am SHOCKED at the ### whoopin the Steelers are layin on the Broncos.. I bet Denver makes a run, but Steelers will work on the clock in the 2nd half.. GO STEELERS!!

This could get REALLY ugly (not that it's not now).Jake Plummer could implode under this pressure to come from behind.Let's see one of these "4th quarter Jake the Snake comebacks" now.

This game is over.
I'd agree, unless the Steelers make the mistake of thinking so.
There shoudl be no thinking in the 2nd half for Pitt. It should be run on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down. Then blitz the crap out of Plummer. He is making mistakes and can't handle the pressure.

I spent the first half at the MALL with my wife and kids :ihavenoballs: so to come back catch the last Pitt TD and find out my momemtum theory seems to be holding up is a huge shock. 2nd half will be interesting... will Cowher go into a shell?

Keys: ever heard of a reverse Jinx? worked on that play....
I'm sorry.My fault.

I forgot that *you* had some "power" to turn the game around with simple words.

Carry on.
I realize your team is getting embarrassed at home in the AFC championship game....but lighten up.
I'm the only one that hasn't complained about the refs, has given Ben his props, and hasn't called the game over.I think I'm fine. Thanks, though. :)
Complained about one call....and....
Boy....Ben looks good....every week i expect him to be off, and every week he gets better.
and this is over :P

That's probably it. He would have had to report to the ref before the huddle in that case.

true, but Bettis had EARNED this right to be a goal line back-- plus when they needed him, he was there.. guy has had a fantastic carrer and deserves the glory..

I'm sorry, but I find this totally absurd. There is no RB in the NFL that runs with a forward lean as well as Bettis in short yardage. GL running is about finding the hole, running low, moving the pile when you need to and falling forward rather than backward on impact. Nobody does that better than Bettis right now nor has anyone done it better the last 4-5 years. It amazes me every time I watch Bettis run in these situations how he ALWAYS finds a way to contort his body in a way to get that last foot-yard push with his unique body lean and power.

Gaining one yard on 2nd & 8 from the 47 is much different than punching it in on 4th and 1 with 20 players bunched into 20 sq. yards

You are correct, but I'm sure the Colts would love to have him...

I agree but I everytime they pan the camera to his parents now and he stars growling in the endzone after a one-yard run is a little excessive

I can feel the long knives in the press corp sharpening their daggers for Shanny's back.

Et tu` Schefter?
Why?If you would've told me at the beginning of the year that Denver would make the AFC Championship, I'd be :banned:

In the tunnel prior to the game, Big Ben was quoted as saying "By the power of Grayskull...."

Back to the game, shall we?Denver can get back in with:1. Stops on 3rd down.2. Move the ball through short, steady passes (ROD SMITH, Jeb Putzier, Stephen Alexander, Anderson/Bell screens).3. Get at least one turnover. If Pitt runs 20 times this half, long long over.

Plummer's too. That's a shame because it will be unwarrented IMO. Pitt is simply executing better than any team in the NFL right now.
