Nice pickup by Riddick that allowed Stafford time to find Jones.
Nothing solid about his calls....his use and mix on the RBs has been crazyAs solid as his calls have generally been, I have a problem taking a guy whose name is Jim Bob Cooter seriously.
Yes, another bias I’m trying to adjust. But come on, that’s a guy who would be working in his cousin’s garage fitting the General Lee with new rocker bars, not an NFL OC.
It seems like it's more on that O-line then the RBs though, doesn't it? Seems like every other running play the RB is trying to dodge a defender before they even take a step with the ball. There's something wrong with the Detroit run-blockingOur running game and short passes to Riddick have just been a joke so far. So sick of watching our ineffectual running. You know it's bad when an 11 yard AA run is a surprise to you
Interesting. Thought I kept hearing his name coming up in conversations about potential fillers for HCs on the hot seat.Nothing solid about his calls....his use and mix on the RBs has been crazy
You don’t win a SB and be contenders because of just one player. This is the culmination of 10 years of McCarthy and Thompson. They are good at one thing...employing Aaron Rodgers. What a disgrace.
I missed most of the first quarter but it looks like Cobb is getting more reps at RB than Montgomery??Maybe it’s my extreme bias given players I own, but looked as if TyMo was wide open and may have been able to pick up the first instead of Hundey trying to do it himself unsuccessfuly.
TyMo seems to hold zero value with Hundley under center as he simply doesn’t look Ty’s way.
Totally. Didn't mean to suggest it was on the RBs in particular. Amazing how the Vikings O line can just about be the worst in the league last year, then improve so much, taking in our cast off in Rieff as part of it. I know Decker has been out, but the Lions have spent money on the right side of that line, and have a center who has played at a decent level before. The line shouldn't be this bad.It seems like it's more on that O-line then the RBs though, doesn't it? You’d think so. But to be honest it is because of one player. They are absolutely garbage without Rodgers. They should be ashamed of themselves. You don’t win a SB and be contenders because of just one player.
That said...they look awful without him and Mccarthy is calling a chicken crap game
WeakMcCarthy...something more than 5 yards downfield would be nice.
No...it’s really not because of one player only. You’d think so. But to be honest it is because of one player. They are absolutely garbage without Rodgers. They should be ashamed of themselves.
honest question, could this team beat the 49ers?
It’s all 3Come on man, it's on McCathy's chicken-#### play ca,ling and the swiss cheese OL, not Hundley
JBC breathed some new life into the Lions offense when he took over, which prior to that seemed rudderless. So it was an inspiring change at the time as I recall and the Lions offense revitalized.Interesting. Thought I kept hearing his name coming up in conversations about potential fillers for HCs on the hot seat.
And Abdullah is a bad match for a bad line. He's quick and has vision, can make a man miss in space, but he needs some space to work...he isn't going to power his way through a tiny crease to fall forward for 3 yards. Love watching him when there is any kind of hole to start withTotally. Didn't mean to suggest it was on the RBs in particular. He's not the most effective fantasy weapon but Tate is a total baller, great hands, so good after the catch, always fights for yards.Never a big fan of his but man does Tate make some pretty catches stick - with his hands and his feet.
Totally. Despite being stung by drafting too much O early in drafts under Mayhew and Millen, part of me is beginning to hope we just spunk a high pick on a beastly powerful RB if one that's good enough is available, and just start from there. And Abdullah is a bad match for a bad line. Watson too. This is going to be the first year a guy that only played 6 games wins the MVP. Rodgers literally carries this team on his back and now more than ever it’s so obvious.
