 And they (barely) won.

PASSING

CP/AT YDS TD INT

J. O'Sullivan 12/19 225 1 1

D. Orlovsky 15/23 220 2 1

J. Kitna 3/5 52 0 0

I dont think Ive ever seen that much in a preseason game before. Ever. Mike Martz is fantasy gold.

That sound you hear is Roy Williams and Jon Kitna skyrocketing up people's draft board.

Here's to those people, thanks for letting better players drop to me in the draft.

hold up..Cinci pass D is not good and I can just imagine who they had out on coverage tonight. I seen one broken coverage for a 90 yard TD alone.

They had 2 turnovers deep in Cincy territory so 14 morepoints were basically whipped off board. 7 for sure when Duckett fumbled in endzone.

Roy should be up there anyhow since he finished with 1300 yds last year. ONly 3-4 WR better fantasy wise going into this year.

No doubt they will throw a ton, but it won't be to this degree during the regular season. Martz probably wanted to take a better look at his young QBs in action.

You are obviously nothing more than a hater. You provide nothing to backup your statement. He led NFC in receiving yards and it not a top WR? LAME. :goodposting:

I don't know how Kitna is considered anything less than QB7 this year. The guy is going to get the ball A LOT, and he has a great WR core in place. I'm loving that Kitna is falling a round or two past the "big 6" Manning, Palmer, Brady, Brees, Bulger, McNabb. I don't think that will change no matter how good of a preseason Detroit puts together. People just can't believe that Kitna will stop throwing the INTs, and for some reason they just don't remember what a good fantasy QB he was down in Cincy a few short years ago.

And every year they end up 4-16 and there abouts and lost six to eight games by seven points or less. Detroit Lions fans roll me. There is nothing like them.

They probably struggle so much because they're exhausted from playing four more regular season games than every other team in the league.

O'Sullivan looked good. One might even say Bulger-Like.
You mean the guy who couldn't stick with the Vikings last year? The guy who the Vikings could have picked up, but chose Drew Hensen instead? The O'Sullivan that had happy feet in the preseason last year? That O'Sullivan? :bye:

I dont think I'd care if it was the Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii. 497 is massive.
Are you sure that wasn't Colt Brennan (Hawaii) throwing the ball? As I recall he throws the ball a massive amount. Might be the next Jon Kitna next year when he is drafted.

Obviously you don't understand how incredibly brilliant I am.

any schmuck can hand the ball off. preseason is all about seeing what you've got and testing systems, plays, personnel, etc. regular season games are all about winning (scoring more than your opponent), ball control, defense...don't make any ranking changes based on one preseason game....

There was one very important thing about this game. Three third downs, three blitzes, three excellent blitz pick-ups by Tatum Bell. (although Kitna was 1 for 3 on the throws). Thats probably going to be one of the things Martz really smiles about.

Lots of garbage yards against Bengals DBs that will be unemployed first cut down. This game was sloppy even for a preseason opener. The take home here is how horrible the Bengals defense looked after the first string left.
