And to think, I was actually ready to give them a little credit.

*Easy division

*Awful 2nd half

*Piss-poor defense

*Less than timely hitting

*No leadership

Any guesses as to their record next year? :o

I hate the tigers, but the AL Central is a friggin powerhouse division...

' :lmao: Easy division :lmao: That's where I stopped reading

My best advice to all is to ignore the Red Sox fans and their tendency to piss all over everybody

Bats just didn't come through. Some good young arms there, but I see them being a lot like the White Sox were this year...they'll end up with a good record in 07, but miss the playoffs.

They did peak way too early, and didn't have any previous success to draw back on when times got tough.

They need some sticks in the middle of that lineup....their pitching should be fine.

Eight errors to many by Tigers in WS, young pitching staff didn't help them. But anyone who beats out the Yankees is ok in my book.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but this seems like a ridiculous statement.

I say they have a better record than the Red Sox.

The Tigers need a leadoff hitter BAD. Granderson sucks there. He led the league in KO's and thats not a good thing in a pitchers park.

The only only exposed was that Brandon Inge is not a major league caliber 3 bagger.

Boring series if you are not a Cards or Tigers homie. Lots of miscues and sloppy play. No captivating story lines.

The World Series winner is a team that won a whopping 83 regular season games.

As for the original poster's fishing trip, those 83 games won would put the Cardinals in 4th place if they played in the AL Central.

This year's results just illustrate what I've said for years - the MLB playoffs are pretty random.

With Verlander, Bonderman and Zumaya I have a feeling we'll be seeing the Tigers in quite a few post-seasons the next few years. to a great season.

Why do you hate Beagle so much?

Yes, it exposed that solid pitching can out-perform high price bats like the Yanks & BoSox.

Pitching is pretty random too. Its very hard to maintain a strong pitching staff.

Random?
See White Sox, everybody said they would be in the playoffs for the next 5 years due to their staff...90 wins is solid, but they really choked down the stretch...

Ditto  Congrats on a great year no one saw coming and some solid pitching...Any chance they want Giambi and Sheff?

Detroit Tigers American League Exposed
Fixed
Right, because a sample size of 5 games is more telling than the AL going 154-98 against the NL in interleague play.Good work, Shuke.
All I kept hearing all year was how the NL wasn't going to be able to produce a team that would make a competitive series.
Whomever said that is an idiot. But on the whole, the AL was the stronger conference this year.
