Each year my league gives out the Dexter Manely award for the dumberst offensive player award for that season. In 2008 it went to Plaxico Burress. However for some reason I'm looking over everyone's roster from last season and I having a hard time finding one. Usually I look for one that killed someones fantasy season ala "burress" but I'm only coming up with Jamarcus Russel for 09. Big Ben I thought of but really didn't have any effect on any owners season. So I'm asking for help if anyone can thing of a better offensive player that could be up for this award. Who killed someone season for being the dumbest nfl player in 09?

Maybe Cutler? Didn't get into any off the field problems, but he just seemed like an idiot when he would yell at his teammates after the interceptions that were his fault.

ETA: I don't suppose he really ruined anyone's fantasy team, just his real-life team.

TO maybe. Stunk last year and doesn't even have a team now.

Jamarcus, Ben, VY and Vick are the big bonehead off the field players, but none of them really hurt fantasy teams last season. Jamarcus should win by being the biggest bust in NFL history followed up by getting busted for being a cough syrup junkie.

Dwayne Bowe deserves mention. Was drafted as a late #1/early #2 WR. Got suspended for PEDs. Came back week 15 but was too big of a risk to start at that point.

Followed it up by alienating his team after the season was over.

Bowe was my first thought also. To qualify for this award, it makes sense that a guy has to be (1) highly ranked, or at least someone fantasy owners were counting on, when the season began, and (2) had a poor season due to boneheadedness of some sort. I think Bowe qualifies on both counts.Another possibility would be Larry Johnson, formerly of KC. He was the undisputed starter when the season began and by the time it ended he was a backup on another team, having been suspended then cut by KC after ripping his HC and making gay slurs against heckling fans via Twitter.
