DFS to stop in New York? Sign the petition! (1 Viewer)

I don't live in a restricted state yet I am still being locked out of entering a contest. Anybody else have this problem?

I have verified my address information on FanDuel and it keeps saying I cannot enter.

Do whatismyip.com and see the location

What's stopping people from getting a VPN to mask their IP address? GoTrusted is $6/month and seems to work fine.

Plus $5,000 fine per case. I just don't get why this guy hates DFS so much.

I guess this thread kind of died some. Or because it's NY title?

Several states have discussed this.

Oklahoma should be passing their law or statute or ??? soon. I think it's the one we collectively want other states to copy.

It requires DFS sites to be audited, otherwise it is legal.

It's definitely rigged... It's openly rigged... In that it's rigged to pay 10 percent to of every pot to the daily fantasy company. Why rig it any more than that? It's wildly popular so they make a ton of money without any further rigging.

It just costs 10 percent per game to make sure they can blanket you in ubiquitous advertising.

After my DK experience I hope these sites get shut down. I laugh at the designation that it's not gambling. What other things that are not gambling have a rake? If gambling is legal then fine, but to draw a distinction between DFS and betting on the outcome of games is ridiculous and as hardcore football fans we all know it.

Pretty much every transaction through a third party has a "rake", it's just called something else -- "commission", "fee", "assessment", "shipping and handling", "convenience fee", etc.

Everytime you buy a McDonalds hamburger they charge what the "government" likes to call a "tax". Sure, they say they can pay for essential goods and services, to keep the lights on and conduct business, but really we all know its just a scam. Obviously. If they were honest and called "taxes" a rake, we could all finally just admit the truth. Eating a McDonalds hamburger is gambling with your life.
