Nothing against Seattle... Serious post... late in the game, the announcer almost said "Seahags". He got as far as"Seaha-", caught himself and then said Seahawks.

I'm not much for announcers; Hate the constant "Favresque" accolades about specific players. It would be refreshing, or at least comical, if they did show some bias instead of the constant attempt at neutrality.

might be reaching here...if he started out saying seaha then stopped and said seahawks...they are both spelled the same up to this point...just a studder maybe?

 I was wondering if anyone else caught this. I think it was Tom Hammond.

he was definitely slipping out Seahags or Seahacks. i laughed.

No but this was Rachel Nichols. I really thought she was about to mess up.

Talking pre-game about Ray Lewis. I think it was Ray Lewis.

"Lewis told me he put in extra film study this week. He even took his laptop into the bathroom with him. He was studying film while he took a SH-ower, through the glass door"

I :giggled:

It was a short "a" sound... not "aw".I'm glad others caught it... I'm not completely crazy (yet).

Could've also been just stuck between saying Seattle and Seahawks. That happens to me all the time, start one word change my mind in mid-word and finish another.

Could be just me.

maybe he naturally has a Boston accent, NJ/NY area accent may say hawk in a way that it sounds like hock or haaahk. Could be he was slipping into a regional accent, caught it and went back to announcer speaking style.

NBC should not be allowed to carry two games in one day. First crew is solid and this one was pitiful. Hammond said numerous stupid things in addition to this OP comment.

Multiple times he stated Brees takes the handoff, when he took the snap from center. Can't recall any others but there were many and I only watched the first half.

He said "SeaHACK" and then quickly corrected himself. Was just a simple slip up of words.
This.Although we may be overlooking the possibility that he intentionally said "Seahack" that time and inadvertently said "Seahawk" the other 50+ times during the broadcast.
