Dion Lewis (4 Viewers)

Also of note from the same Twitter feed. OT Sebastian Vollmer likely headed to IR with an undisclosed injury and OG Shaq Mason has a broken hand with no timetable to return.

Per Tom Curran . . .

FOXBORO -- Dion Lewis had a complication after his ACL surgery and needs to have a second procedure, according to a source. The nature of the procedure isn't specifically known, but it doesn't involve the ACL or any other ligaments.

Depending upon when he has the procedure, it should be about 8-10 weeks before he can begin training, which means he will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list.

Damn.  So much for the theory that he'd be ready for the beginning of the season because ACL surgery/rehab has improved so much in the last year. :wall:

James White is a JAG, I won't draft him.

I'm afraid people may assume this news drastically effects Blount's value and his ADP will subsequently start climbing. He represented really good value as a late round flier IMO.

My .02 - blount looks healthier and better last year, and has been working on catching.  He should step in as the primary back, and he has two goal line tds in two pre season games.

But white should have had both those tds.  Both came on long catches - one about 15 yards, and one over 50 if memory serves me correctly.  And both ended with him being tackled on the 1.  Blount will and should continue to get more touches, but white had 6 tds and almost 400 yards in the last 7 games las year.  Even a modest uptick in touches could make him a nice ppr find and decent non ppr stand in.

if the surgery doesn't involve the ACL or any other ligament, can it be a simple clean out or something that might not keep him out for 6 weeks? Do we know for sure?

And appreciate that, not saying you are wrong at all...guess I'm hoping for best case scenario. This guy was so electric and fun to watch last year...

Rumor is he started having swelling again in the past 4-5 days and an MRI revealed loose particles that need to be removed.

This sucks.  Not a Pats fan and don't have any exposure to him this year, just wanted to see him play.

McFadden seems like a good fit, but doubt the Pats would cough up much...not sure what the cowgirls are asking for.
Karlos Williams Im guessing is a better grab.

Will be interesting to see if DJ Foster suits up tonight...he is now healthy and practicing...his skill set appears to be similar to Dion Lewis...the Pats went hard after him as an UDFA and the word is he looked very good during OTAs...also, BB probably gets wood thinking about replacing a guy he got out of nowhere like Lewis with another off-the-radar guy...if he does play against Carolina he is definitely someone to keep an eye on...if he did turn out to be legit he could really hurt White's current value...

Foster should be playing, I added White in leagues I was thin at RB, but I like Foster coming out and was pumped to see him get signed, if he surprises I'm willing to cut ties.

Yeah, he's fun as hell to watch when he's on his game. Prob one of a dozen or so players who have me on the edge of my seat every time they touch the ball.  Dude can be straight bottled up in the backfield and somehow juke and squirt his way out of containment, then.... later.

Any update on what exactly the surgery was for or what they found during surgery?
Cleanup procedure. That usually means the patient is experiencing pain & an MRI shows pieces of cartilage are loose around the knee. Was not a new injury.

That is speculation. I'm a CPA not an MD. I have never stayed in s Holiday Inn.

I was listening to The Audible and Dr. Gene Bramel was saying that the timeline wasn't jiving with the reported surgery (cleanup).  At least that's what I heard. :)

I've been thinking the same.  I got my knee cleaned out and walked out of the hospital with barely a limp....Sure I wasn't going to play in an NFL game the next week, but it wouldn't have taken 2 months.

I took a late round flier on him in a deep PPR league (20 on a roster). Was Lewis even fully recovered and practicing yet? I knew he'd be PUP but took a chance for late season since I normally have RBs dropping at that point!

No he had never practiced yet.  He showed up for OTA's but wasn't doing much and then never participated in a preseason practice.
