Dude, Easter was like 4 days ago.
It's the free wafers, I know right?I do miss being Catholic this time of year, in a weird way.
Happy Easter.
You kidding? Lent's been over since Thursday, mang. Get with the program! Is Lent over or did Jesus see his shadow?
@Psychopav deserves the most risen of Easters.Happy Easter everyone . . . but especially @Psychopav
So ... no shadow? You kidding? Lent's been over since Thursday, mang. Get with the program!
You can pray for faith. Just a suggestion. Happy Easter!
Yes, a shadow of a past steeped in pride and folly, overcome by the brilliance of divine sacrificial love.So ... no shadow?

“One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected. …[This] convention protects them, and so they proceed with their blather unwhipped and almost unmolested, to the great damage of common sense and common decency. that they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly. Nor is there any visible intellectual dignity in theologians. Few of them know anything that is worth knowing, and not many of them are even honest.” ― H.L. Mencken
I think you should pray that God show you how to allow Him to redeem you. Pray that He opens your heart to a faith of love and hope and that He opens your mind to a faith where the intellect that He gave you is put to the use He designed for you from before you were even conceived. If you ask, today I will pray, privately, without church or The Church. What should I pray? I have no beads, but I have the internet and the ability to look things up. God has saved me before, I am sure. I only ask to be redeemed.
One more thing. He promises nothing but peace. He doesn't promise comfort or to eradicate evil in the world. Quite the opposite, as I'm sure you know. He promises struggle and hardship and death. All of which is there whether you accept the peace or not. The peace comes with obedience and love, and accepting that He loves you.I think you should pray that God show you how to allow Him to redeem you. Faith is about trust. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you through your heart and your mind, and to show you how to Trust Him. And watch and listen. I believe He will answer you if you have ears to hear and eyes to see.
God bless.
Thanks. I'll look up Hosea (already have) and will read. I'll take your advice about IRL, but not sure where to find a person of faith. I've sought out priests before. Didn't do any good. He drew a circle and starting saying nonsensical stuff. It was weird. But point taken. Find a person you respect of strong faith and ask about it.One more thing. He promises nothing but peace. Look up the old testament story of the prophet Hosea to understand how much He loves you. He is looking for your response to that love. Hope this helps a bit.
One other thing I would recommend is to seek out a faithful person soon that you respect IRL, and get together for drinks (coffee to whiskey or anything in between). Ask him or her some tough questions about their faith.

"CATHOLIC theology has nothing to do with democracy, for or against it, in the sense of a machinery of voting or a criticism of particular privileges. It is not committed to support what Whitman said for democracy, or even what Jefferson or Lincoln said for democracy. But it is absolutely committed to contradict what Mr. Mencken says against democracy. There will be Diocletian persecutions, there will be Dominican crusades, there will be rending of all religious peace and compromise, or even the end of civilization and the world, before the Catholic Church will admit that one single moron, or one single man, “is not worth saving.””
~G.K. Chesterton: The Thing. (H.L. Mencken remarked of certain ex-liberals, “They have come to realize that the morons whom they sweated to save do not want to be saved, and are not worth saving.”)

On Good Friday, we’ll be smack-dab in the middle of the Triduum. Chances are that Divine Mercy Sunday will be far from your mind, but it will be just nine days away. That means that this Friday, the Divine Mercy Novena begins.
The Lord promised St. Faustina, “By this novena, I will grant every possible grace to souls” (Diary of St. Faustina 796). Each day of the novena, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is prayed; if possible, at 3:00pm, the Hour of Divine Mercy because it is the hour that Jesus died on the cross. It really is providential that we begin this novena, begging God for His mercy for the sake of his suffering and death, on Good Friday.
The Lord gave St. Faustina the nine intentions that we pray for each day of the novena. According to the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the intentions are: “All mankind, especially sinners; the souls of priests and religious; all devout and faithful souls; those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus; the souls who have separated themselves from the Church; the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children; the souls who especially venerate and glorify His mercy; the souls detained in purgatory; and souls who have become lukewarm.”
The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed LIVE each weekday at 4pm ET / 1pm PT on The Drew Mariani ShowTM on Relevant Radio. You can also pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet anytime in the prayer menu on the free Relevant Radio app under ‘devotions’ and ‘audio prayers’. We will be praying the Novena of Divine Mercy Chaplets together beginning on Friday, April 19 – get the prayers at the Divine Mercy Novena Page or on the mobile app.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world!

Third Day
"Today bring to Me all Devout and Faithful Souls, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought me consolation on the Way of the Cross. They were a drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness."
Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wondrous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.
