Division Winners first or Seeds (1 Viewer)

Never had this come up before in our 6 years of this league. I was setting down to determine the playoff posibilities since this is our last week and found something that our rules that I wrote are not clear on. WHen determining Playoff spots. If three teams are tied with the same record and 2 are in one division and one in the other division do I use the team in the other division to determine the tie breakers or do I determine the division winner then compare the tie breakers of the two division winners to determine which one gets the #1 Seed. Playoff Team determination rules are below.

Playoffs

Playoff teams are determined as follows:

1. Best Record - overall, if tied go to 2

2. Best Record - head to head, if tied go to 3 (if 3 teams or more tie then one team must have a better record against all his tied opponents to use this tie breaker if not proceed to tie breaker 3)

3. Best Record – In your Division if tied go to 4 (unless across Divisions, skip this step for cross division tie breaker)

4. Most Points – By starters for season, if tied go to 5

5. Most Points – Total points for all players including bench for Season if Tied go to 6

6. Flip a coin

Teams will be seeded as follows:

Division winner with best record is Seed #1

The Division winner with the second best record is Seed #2

The next best 4 teams will be seeds 3 thru 6 regardless of division

Note all tie breakers start over in a 3 or more way tie each time someone wins a tie breaker.

Playoff Schedule

The playoffs will be held during weeks 14 - 16 of the NFL Season:

Week 14 – The 1st and 2nd seeds get a bye

Seed 3 Vs Seed 6

Seed 4 Vs Seed 5

Week 15 – Seed #1 Vs lowest remaining Seed

Seed #2 Vs other winning team from week 14

Losing two team from week 14 playoff for 5th

Week 16 - Fantasy Super Bowl and 3rd place game

Your first step is to decide the division winners. Once you have got your divison winners set, then you use your tiebreakers to determine seeds. Your rules state only divison winners can be seeded 1 & 2.
