Purdy did not have his best game.If San Fran wins the SB with this guy at qb it may be the greatest coaching achievement ever. Some of his throws were so bad but it doesn’t matter.
Credit where due - the Cowboys defense is an incredible pass rushing team. They had the 49ers offense more 1-dimensional than I’ve seen them in months. The cowboys severely limited what Shanny wanted to do. They are fast, and mean, and execute very well, consistently. Purdy’ was under duress much of the game.
That said, Purdy also didn’t fall apart. He didn’t throw interceptions. He threw a couple of dimes into tight coverage. He didn’t throw short of the sticks when they needed 1sts.
He also had a couple of deep shots and didn’t miss the open receivers.
For this entire streak of wins, critics have said “oh ok sure, but let’s see how he does when he faces some real pressure. When he has playoff pressure on him and is facing a good defense.”
Ok, there ya go. 19-12, 49ers.
Kid got it done today. The Eagles game is a brand new ballgame. Maybe it’s as close and ugly as this one. Maybe not.
But Purdy made the plays when he had to, and the Niners won. I’ve seen Purdy play a much more aerial game and succeed.
Today wasn’t that day, but cap tip for playing mistake free football (other than the pick Diggs dropped. But Diggs picks off a lot of dudes)
Damn, if you're relying on a post from an Eagles fan to make you feel better about getting knocked out of playoffs then that's all there is to say about your fandom. He's setting football back 300 years.Dak really is Kirk Cousins
So soft. So insecure. I love it. Made the Cowboys loss less painful. Thank you Eagles insecurity.

Not 100% accurate, but close enough.Dallas is gassed by the 4th quarter, and the Niners just have way too much firepower.

Good luck next week Deamon .
Like the Walking Dead attending a funeral.Jerry Jones. Love seeing him hate life.
It never made sense trading Amari Cooper, and this was a game he could have made a huge difference in.Story of the game, imo..
1) Turnovers - killed drives and SF got FG's off them.
2) No one for Dallas outside of CeeDee Lamb was able to make plays.
Eventually Dallas Def just got worn out. Up till the 4th it was a very even game, and if there hadn't been the turnovers, Dallas would have been ahead.
Also they wasted a 3rd round pick on a WR that barely made the field this season. Gallup, not sure what to make of him. He shows flashes but he's no Tee Higgins. It never made sense trading Amari Cooper, and this was a game he could have made a huge difference in.Story of the game, imo..

The Gallup re-signing looks atrocious right now, he can't beat anybody anymore, and looks like a clear cut #3 WR, who was instantly outplayed by TY Hilton. Schultz puts up nice fantasy numbers, but is a pretty average TE, and the drop off from Pollard to Zeke, is gigantic.
I feel a little bad for Dak Prescott. Didn't think the 1st INT was his fault at all (Gallup ran a garbage route) and the 2nd one was a tipped ball (bad throw for sure but could have just as easily been incomplete) the problem is there isn't that much talent on offense. It's an ok OL, and an ok skill position group, that Dak probably gets more out of than most would.
Is Gallup fully back from the ACL tear? He was on the field very soon...I wonder if he just wasn't back to full explosiveness. Not everybody returns quickly right away.It never made sense trading Amari Cooper, and this was a game he could have made a huge difference in.Story of the game, imo..

It was surprising Tolbert played so little. He was a good prospect with a good match of production and athleticism, maybe coming from South Alabama, was just too big of a jump? Also they wasted a 3rd round pick on a WR that barely made the field this season. He has a gigantic pile of money to wipe his tears with. I don’t feel badly for Dak at all. That last pick may not have been his fault, but the 1st oneI feel a little bad for Dak Prescott.
I think Greg Olsen said it before the ball was snapped unless that was another oneNot that it would have mattered at all…Cowboys would still find a way to lose.
Kittle catch. Should have been an illegal formation penalty. FB was covering up Kittle.
I’m guessing an apology letter will come from Goodell in a couple of days.

I mean, obviously that's not what I meant. At the end of the day, nothing really matters other than the money, and getting out healthy enough to be able to enjoy life after retirement. Championships are awesome but only 1 team wins every year. 31 teams don't, but it often feels like Dallas/Dak get it rubbed in a little more than most, is that because of Jerry Jones? He has a gigantic pile of money to wipe his tears with. Sorry, just having a laugh. Dude gets paid a lot.I mean, obviously that's not what I meant
Partly - also partly because a lot of folks hate the Cowboys, and also because Dak tends to shrink in big postseason games. He’s not great under pressure, and a lot of the blame falls on him for the losses. I think a lot of the criticism he takes is absolutely fair.is that because of Jerry Jones?
Kudos @travdogg . The most rational take I think I've seen anywhere. As soon as the game is over the trashing began, Dak is trash, Cowboys lose again, the Dallas haters come out of the woodwork in droves. It's damn hard to win in the NFL, and even harder to win playoff games and Super Bowls. Dallas just put up more points on the road against the #1 defense than Buffalo's vaunted offense put up at home against....not the #1 defense. The media is clowning all over Dak and Dallas, meanwhile it's all sympathy and shoulder pats for Bills fans because this was supposed to be their year. I'm not knocking the Bills - same thing happened to them, it's damn hard to win playoff games and sometimes the other team is better that day.I mean, obviously that's not what I meant. Dak Prescott is somewhere in the 5-10 range of NFL QBs, and maybe its just because he's in Dallas, or whatever, but he gets scrutinized a little more than pretty much every other QB does. He certainly didn't play well against SF (almost nobody does) but he was still a good QB this year, and Dallas was a top-6 team. I don't look at this loss as a failure of Dak, or McCarthy, or Dallas as a franchise. They lost to a better team, it happens.

Local radio stations are pretty much universally trash. Certainly, anyone wishing injury on anyone like CMC is. Probably on any player, even a guy like Deshaun Watson. To be fair I’ve seen quite a bit of criticism of the Bills as well.Kudos @travdogg . The most rational take I think I've seen anywhere. It’s not exclusive to the Cowboys.
Also, Dak did throw a pretty horrible no good very bad interception on what should have been a critical scoring drive.
Yes, it was against the Niners very good defense, but it was an inexcusable pick in that situation. Any criticism he gets for that iswarranted IMO.
ETA: and let’s be honest here. Much of the criticism and dumping on the Cowboys after a playoff loss is largely due to the obnoxious levels of hype their fans and DAL sports writers put out before the games.
Local radio station wishing injury on CMC, talk of destroying the 49ers based on the beat down of the Bucs. A lot of that was way way way over the top.
They bring the criticism on themselves.
By comparison, the Bills fans/media seemed a bit more humble, knowing the Bengals are a good team, and respecting them as such.
Sometimes the response is predicted on the build-up is all I’m saying.
I definitely didn't know about the radio host making comments about CMC like that. Inexcusable to wish injury on any player. I'm a Saints fan so neutral on Dallas and not really exposed to "the mass hype of Dallas fans"...if they were talking about destroying SF based on beating TB, then they're stupider than I thought. To be fair I’ve seen quite a bit of criticism of the Bills as well.Kudos @travdogg . I scrolled through the thread a little because I couldn’t temper who said the hit in Pollatd wasn’t dirty but couldn’t find it. Anyway

Tony Pollard Rule? NFL to consider rule change after RB injury
The "hip-drop" tackle that left Pollard with a high ankle sprain and fractured fibula wasn't illegal, but the NFL may look at making it so. | From @ToddBrock24f7www.yahoo.com
Oh and @Wingnut , please tell me you were hammered when you were posting

I most certainly was.
