Oh brother. It's Baltimore Steelers buddy....they are letting them playa little.Post Season. Can they call a penalty on a replay? Because that should have been a blow to the head, right?
The ball never went forward in his hand. The tuck rule is when his hand goes from back to tuck (in that case it still moves forward).why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
Do you agree now?Nope, things would have been different. Saved the Steelers, nothing. Can't assume anything. Making a field goal on that field is never easy and so on.They punted around the 40 yard line of Pittsburgh. If they didn't have that 14 yards, they most likely wouldn't have kicked a field goal. That challenge was worth 3 points for Pittsburgh.Yep, bad challenge. Now if they challenge and lose, they out of challenge's. Was not worth 14 yards.I'm not sure I'd waste a challenge on that if I were Tomlin. And nice tackle by Suisham.

Because that rule was only interpreted that way once.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
Agreed. Triplette absolutely sucks. He reminds me of a substitute junior high teacher.Jeff Triplette is one of the worst refs in the NFL - he blinded Orlando Brown and he seems to be blind himself. This game is turning into a debacle. Wonder if he will overturn himself. Looked like a TD
I don't understand. Because it is the post season they should ignore the rules?Oh brother. It's Baltimore Steelers buddy....they are letting them playa little.Post Season. Can they call a penalty on a replay? Because that should have been a blow to the head, right?
I dislike the rule, but anyone named "Manning" gets that call. It should be called consistently.Oh brother. It's Baltimore Steelers buddy....they are letting them playa little.Post Season. Can they call a penalty on a replay? Because that should have been a blow to the head, right?
Maybe put a skirt and some lipgloss on that football. Ben would be all over it.That was on Ben. Not only for holding it way too long, but he was the only Steeler that knew for sure that was a fumble and he didn't even make an attempt to get it.
so if he didn't reset to throw, it's the tuck rule...correct? Arm forward, no throw, bring ball back towards body, hit and fumble = tuck rule? So, because he brought the ball back to throwing position, no tuck?No tuck. he reset and went back to throw again.Clear fumble and TD.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
Who's face are you referring to?Rice!!! In your face!!!!!!!!
Salt in the womb there. No doubt.Terrible emotionally driven challenge by Tomlin IMO and if this stands then he's out of challenges and I bet he'll need one.
I wasn't crying, just pointing it out. I don't have a dog in this fight. Are you saying it wasn't, according to the rules, a penalty?WhaaaSuggs hand hit the QB's head, which is a penalty.whaaaaa
I hear ya...the rule is bad. But it is the playoffs, two very physical teams...looks like they are going to let some things go unless it is very obvious.I dislike the rule, but anyone named "Manning" gets that call. It should be called consistently.Oh brother. It's Baltimore Steelers buddy....they are letting them playa little.Post Season. Can they call a penalty on a replay? It absolutely should have been the stupid tuck rule. He pumped, and never "tucked" the football after pulling the ball down. It should have been an incomplete pass according to the worst and most infamous rule in football, which they clearly can't even call right.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
lol, tuck rule was called the same way against the patriots earlier that season on a hit on vinny testaverde. keep crying though.Because that rule was only interpreted that way once.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
Just having a little fun.....I am amped up for the game (have the Ravens in a nice future bet).I wasn't crying, just pointing it out. I don't have a dog in this fight. Are you saying it wasn't, according to the rules, a penalty?WhaaaSuggs hand hit the QB's head, which is a penalty.whaaaaa
Suggs hand hit the QB's head, which is a penalty.
that might be the worst new call in the league this year. Grazing a helmet is now a penalty. Incredibly weak. They can't use the replay to call that penalty.I wasn't crying, just pointing it out. I don't have a dog in this fight. Are you saying it wasn't, according to the rules, a penalty?WhaaaSuggs hand hit the QB's head, which is a penalty.whaaaaa
Yea, the first 2 words that popped in my head on that challenge: MIKE MARTZDo you agree now?Nope, things would have been different. Saved the Steelers, nothing. Can't assume anything. Making a field goal on that field is never easy and so on.They punted around the 40 yard line of Pittsburgh. If they didn't have that 14 yards, they most likely wouldn't have kicked a field goal. I was screaming at my tv for someone to pick the ball up because it was live. My neighbors probably think I killed somebody or something now.As soon as it hit the ground, I was thinking "I didn't hear a whistle. Why is everyone just standing around?"How can they just stand there?

Have you been watching the game? They are letting the obvious go and calling phantom penalties. They are all over the map on this game and it takes away from what could be a good game.I hear ya...the rule is bad. But it is the playoffs, two very physical teams...looks like they are going to let some things go unless it is very obvious.I dislike the rule, but anyone named "Manning" gets that call. If that ball was a young college girl instead of a football, Big Ben wouldn't of fumbled it.

It depends upon the judgment of what is "violent or unnecessary." Of course the rule is written so that this should not be called when it is accidental. But it's only a point of emphasis to protect defenseless players; there is nothing that prevents refs from flagging these hits even under other circumstances, including when the offense delivers them. There is a separate section of the rule (which is very, very long) that deals with "launching" to deliver a hit, which was also done. In any case, I know a lot of people think the broader interpretation of "violent and unnecessary" is ####ifying the game, but you certainly cannot say that hits with the helmet are explicitly legal. They're not.I am pretty sure leading with your helmet in order to make a tackle is legal so long as the officials deem you aren't doing anything I bolded. It is possible to make a tackle, lead with your helmet and not commit a penalty.Leading with the crown of the helmet is not legal, ever.from Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8 of the NFL rulebook...Because it isn't illegal unless you are tackling a QB or a "defenseless receiver". Leading with your helmet against a runner is perfectly legal. Also, why not mention that leading with the crown of the helmet is an illegal tackle and should be flagged?CBS coverage is terrible. Why not show this alleged pass interference rather than the tackle?
Unnecessary Roughness
There shall be no unnecessary roughness. This shall include, but will not be limited to: ...
...(f) If a player uses any part of his helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/"hairline" parts) or facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily. Although such violent or unnecessary use of the helmet and facemask is impermissible against any opponent, game officials will give special attention in administering this rule to protecting those players who are in virtually defenseless postures, including but not limited to:
(1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player's head, neck, or face with the helmet or facemask, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him; or
(2) Lowering the head and violently or unnecessarily making forcible contact with the "hairline" or forehead part of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player's body
If that ball was a young college girl instead of a football, Big Ben wouldn't of fumbled it.

It was also called in a game this year. I don't recall the teams, but it was called.lol, tuck rule was called the same way against the patriots earlier that season on a hit on vinny testaverde. keep crying though.Because that rule was only interpreted that way once.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
Really bad rule and very annoying to be honest.Suggs hand hit the QB's head, which is a penalty.that might be the worst new call in the league this year. Grazing a helmet is now a penalty. Incredibly weak.
absolutely false...wasn't the tuck rule called just last week...same exact play as Brady...BTW..so stop cryingBecause that rule was only interpreted that way once.why isn't that the tuck rule..because he recocked?
