***Divisional Round Game Thread*** New York Jets at New England (1 Viewer)

Huge win, really pumped up. Pats are a helluva team, but the Jets were the better team today. Better run game, better defense, and Rex out coached Bill today. Pats haven't won a playoff game since 2007, which is surprising to me. Jets go to back-to-back AFC Championships, who wouldathunkit?

Going to be hard to sleep tonight.

Rex is growing on me. Other than being a bit pervy, he's pretty classy in all of his post game pressers that I've seen.Nice job Jets  !
Me too. A hell of alot more entertaining then Andy Reid.I think I just found room on the Jets bandwagon for myself.

Jets shock the world and now prepare to go "toe to toe" with the Steelers next week!!
they'll be a lot of these comments afoot in the SP for the next week or so.
Unfortunately you're right. And everyone who does think's they are bringing the funny.Newsflash.......... You're not.
*thinksYou wouldn't use an apostrophe there generally.
*they're generally.

If people only read his schtick every week they are really missing. You really have to see his weekly, by far the most entertaining HC in the NFL.Good postgame tonight, he talks crap during the week (in part to deflect attention away from Sanchez), but he's always a good guy - win or lose - after the final whistle blows.

So was this victory the Jets superbowl? what do they have left in the tank??
I'm ecstatic with the win, but this is a fair question. I'd almost prefer they were playing Baltimore so Rex had the old team connection and the the week one loss to use as motivation. Seeing as how they just went into Pittsburgh and won I wonder what their mindset will be. They could of course be riding a huge emotional high and be brimming with confidence. It should be a good game I thihk. As for this one, I hate the Pats so this was sweet, but you have to give BB and Brady credit. They went 14-2 with a defense that was very young and franjkly not ready for primetime, plus weapons on offense that won't make you forget the 99 Rams anytime soon. The scary thing is that they own this draft and will only get better. The Jets better win this title, because it's not going to get easier in the AFC East.

Two really good onside kicks though.
That last OS kick summed up (to me) the difference in the Pats and the Steelers. The Jet grabs the ball and is on his back. The Pats player just covers him. That's it. Game over. The Steelers, or even Ravens, would have done everything they could do to rip the ball from him.

Our Brady, who art in Foxboro, hallowed be thy arm. Thy bowl will come, it will be won, in Dallas as it is in New England. Give us this Sunday, our weekly win, and give us many touchdown passes, but do not let the Jets pass against us. Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us to the valley of the sun. For thine is the MVP, the best of the AFC, and the glory of the Patriots, now and forever, AMEN!
I told you this was a curse. There are some places you just don't go. Yer team got squissshhhhed.

I did fail Freshman English, but I am pretty sure Bender is correct there.

In just the Shark Pool?

Hand it to the Jets. Didn't think you guys had a shot in hell of winning this game.

Great game plan throughout. Helped to have a complete choke job by Brady and the Pats. But, Jets held steady, didn't make any stupid plays, made critical plays when they had to.

As an impartial observer, all I can say is thanks to the Jets. Will make my day in Boston all the more enjoyable tomorrow.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots receiver Deion Branch was asked following the game if he was embarrassed by the loss. His answer: "I'm not embarrassed, I'm just frustrated. The embarrassing part came from a few classless guys [on the Jets] after the game. There were a lot of classless things that went on after the game ended.''When asked what he was referring to, Branch answered, "Didn't you see it? You've got to go back and watch it. Pretty classless stuff.''Some of New England's players left the field when time ran out rather than shake hands with the Jets players. When asked if he was one of them Branch said, "I'm a champion. I'm always going to congratulate guys. They beat us today. The ones with class, I shook their hands. And the ones that didn't, I didn't [shake their hands]. You can tell they're not used to being in this position.''

:lmao:
I wonder how Deion Branch defines classy. Is it his Patriot teammates stomping on a team's logo in celebration? Is it trash talking Jets players when his team is losing a playoff game? Just wondering.

I reall do need to get a life. I could not sleep, even after going to bed with plenty of victory brews in my belly. Ryan was right, second biggest game in the history of the franchise. The monkey is off our backs now, the mystique of the invincible Patriots is gone... forever.

Not surprisingly, all the Pats fans that were trash talking have also shut up. At least they aren't  like D Branch, who by the way, was trash talking  at the Jets' sideline right from the beginning of the game. Now he's whining... the Pats can dance on other team's logo's after a win, but a few Jets doing the "airplane" got Branch all upset? :excited:

Don't even waste your breath on that - focus is now on Pittsburgh.
