What need is there to fly the flag of the company you work for in your front yard? Should people working for Wal-Mart fly Wal-Mart flags?

Someone flying a military flag is nothing but a "LOOK AT ME!" statement.

Obviously he has 'mentality of someone who could have been a Nazi'. I would watch out for him.

What need is there to fly the flag of the company you work for in your front yard? Should people working for Wal-Mart fly Wal-Mart flags?

ya those are some odd comments ...and im not even a flag hanging kind of person

 
I fly mine pretty much year-round. It comes down due to inclement weather or when I have overnight guests.

It's a Betsy Ross American flag.

 
I did not notice it this morning, but my wife tells me we are also missing two little flags she had put in some pots out front, some bunting from our porch railing, and a U.S. flag themed windsock.

I'm glad I took in my other flag yesterday morning. That one is not on permanent display like the missing one, put only gets put out on Memorial Day, the 4th, and on Veterans day.

Turns out that several neighbors also lost flags over the 4th of July weekend. Apparently one of the neighbors has some security video of one such act. The video shows teens (or at least relatively young men), beers in hand, taking one flag. I understand the license plate on their car is legible. It also turns out that among my neighbors who lost flags are one Police Office and one Deputy Sheriff.

I have to make a Home Depot run tonight, so I will be picking up a flag then.

 
Front yard landscaping is finally done. Thinking it might be time to add old glory to the mix.

I know I am quoting an old post, but just saw the story on the news this weekend. Someone had like 6 small flags that they had placed in the ground for Memorial Day come up missing. They had been put there in honor of the grandfather. She was pretty upset until she found the villains.... squirrels. They looked up in the tree and saw the most patriotic squirrel's nest anyone had ever seen.

Ex military, yes I fly year round.  I know about the rules, and do my best to follow. That said, I appreciate anyone who flies a "well kept" flag, regardless of the other rules more than anyone who doesn't.

I'm too much of a rule follower when it comes to the flag. Drilled into me from my Boy Scout days.

we have an accepted offer on a house that has a 20+ foot tall flagpole out front. can't wait to take that thing down. it's an eyesore, surrounded by rocks & poorly anchored to the point where i think my 6 year old could shove it over.

well, SJWNJs are definitely dumb enough to make that mistake....but we don't have many in my neighborhood.  Lots of libs who love putting signs in their yards, but that just helps me identify them.

We have a 20+ foot tall flag pole as well.  Unfortunately it is cemented in solid.  Unfortunately the maple tree in the front yard has grown into the flag pole so I can't fly a flag on it if I wanted to.  And I'm far too lazy to dig that thing out.  I have no way to transport it even if I did.

 
My uncle was killed in Vietnam. My aunt gave me the flag that was on his casket.  I put it up on holidays out of memory and respect..no flag pole though.

 
We usually put it up for the summer and then replace it with a Michigan flag for football season 

Can't find it at the moment though
