This is something that was unexpected but for the past 3-4 years my wife has been playing fantasy football. It just makes things slightly more fun. We have our own league of local friends - our maid of honor from our wedding, her bf who married us, a couple groomsmen and almost every maid of honor lol.

Most folks didn’t know what they were doing at first but have figured it out along the way.

Just cracks me up

I didn’t think it would be this fun but now it’s a season we share together and has made us a little closer.

Is she a federal employee? I was for a long time and still sign my name like that.

I'm in a long time keeper league and two years ago one of the owners had his wife replace him. It was my first ever experience in my 30 plus years of doing this of having a female owner. It was fun. I nicknamed her Marge and spent have the season posting Marge Simpson gifs as trash talk. She was bad that first year and finished in last place. Funny enough Marge won the league last year. Smh

I would enjoy my wife in a league with me, but she hates football. It's given her bad memories watching me. Ha ha

My wife joined my main league of record (been running it since ‘99) about 15 yrs ago. It’s great. Sundays are for football in our house and it’s glorious not having a wife nag me for watching it all day, as she is too. She won the championship 3/4 years ago.

No. I just buy THINGS with any winnings so I can say, "Hey, see that 58 inch flatscreen? Paid for by FF winnings. Remember that mahogany coffee table you loved? It's being delivered by Thursday. How did I pay for it? FF winnings."

These visual aids, embedded in the most highly trafficked area in our home, help keep us both happily in our lane when I'm . . . you know, watching Thursday, all day Sunday, watching on Monday, up late on a Tuesday, ignoring her and everything else on the planet while making bids.

I got invited by my neighbor to play in their “family league” when they were short one year. 3-4 wives in it. I declined but the couple were our wine buddies and I got to hear tales of her winning the league that year. She didn’t know Lamar Jackson from Kendrick Lamar. It made for excellent fodder for several years to rag on him about.

My wife claims to be a football fan. She comes from a family of Packer fans. She has tried to get all of our kids on that train... my rebuttal is usually name 10 Packers. She never has been able. One of the 10 players was always Mason Crosby.

When Mason Crosby retired, I sent her the news followed by name 9 Packers.

She has zero interest in Fantasy Football and it has been great for our marriage.

These are the types anecdotes I point to when people think that there isn't an enormous amount of luck to winning at FF.

There is a Dallas area radio station which for years used to play Jerry responding to criticism by saying "Did you like those 3 Super Bowls? I hope you did....I hope you did very much".

My wife is familiar with this quote.

I have twice taken the family on impromptu trips with fantasy winnings. Once to Mexico, the other to Disney and both times made sure to let them all know the trip was with fantasy winnings.

So when my wife starts to complain about me doing another draft or spending all day watching I will reply with something like, "Did you like that trip to Mexico? I hope you did.....I hope you did very much".

My wife has played multiple years and was in multiple leagues. She went into labor with our first kid in the middle of the draft. Finished the draft and then said to everyone: Short party this year,I’ve been having contractions and we need to get to the hospital.

She came in second that year in a 16-team league drafting Tomlinson and barber. Stone cold.
