Doc Who Tied Vaccine to Autism Ruled Unethical (1 Viewer)

Wow.

Wolfson, an Arizona cardiologist, refuses to vaccinate his two young sons. He said the family that didn't vaccinate and endangered the Jacks children did nothing wrong.

"It's not my responsibility to inject my child with chemicals in order for [a child like Maggie] to be supposedly healthy," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, it's very likely that her leukemia is from vaccinations in the first place."

"I'm not going to sacrifice the well-being of my child. My child is pure," he added. "It's not my responsibility to be protecting their child."

CNN asked Wolfson if he could live with himself if his unvaccinated child got another child gravely ill.

"I could live with myself easily," he said. "It's an unfortunate thing that people die, but people die. I'm not going to put my child at risk to save another child."

He blamed the Jacks family for taking Maggie to the clinic for care.

"If a child is so vulnerable like that, they shouldn't be going out into society," he said.

Interesting reading on the Dr's website. Info about a lecture hosted by he and his chiropractor wife. Don't forget to stop by the store for your organic skin care system, CardioSUper Food, or Multi Core Multivitamins.

All specialty formulated by the Drs Wolfson!
I love guys like this. "Vaccinations are just a massive, elaborate plot to line the pharmacos' and doctors' pockets. Don't be fooled by them.... Now let me tell you all about this magic concoction that you can buy from me."

Nothing more than snake oil salesmen.
Yup.

And he touts himself as a board certified cardiologist while at the same time saying he was brainwashed the whole time in is medical training and didn't see the light until meeting his chiropractor wife.

The difference between guys like him and the Nigerian princes needing help transferring money is just in degree.

F'n women. amirite? :hifive:

I love the hypocrisy in "they call you names" and then the two go on to call people animals. I present to you, a member of the ignorati:

GLENN: I had dinner last night with a friend who was not a friend of mine two years ago. Didn’t want to be with me. And then became friends with me. He’s on the left.

And his business partner, this woman, she hates me.

PAT: Still?

GLENN: Listen. Hates me. Hates me. Hates me. Hates me. Would like not — I’d call his office and say, can I talk to him? Yeah, no, he’s — he’s — he’s anywhere, but around a phone for you. So she didn’t like me.

So last night, we have dinner, and I can just feel it coming off of her. And my friend brought her because he wanted her to listen to me. Be around — because she didn’t really listen. So she listens. She cries — before we leave, she cries, and she says, I am so sorry. I am so sorry. I had no idea. We may not agree on everything. But I know who you are, and I’m in. I’ll help you.

PAT: Wow.

GLENN: I mean, unbelievable. And it’s not that we agree on everything because we don’t. But we’re willing to sit down and say, where do we have common goals? Where do we have commonality? Where can we — we have to stop the bickering back and forth. We have to stop name-calling. We have to stop — we have to stop this. We have to stop trying to win. Because winning — right now — in the old days, we used to — when the Republicans would win, they would get a bill passed and they would win, they would hold up and say, we won. And the Democrats would hold the same bill up and say, we won too because we got these things. And so everybody walked away a winner. Now everybody is walking away trying to crush the other one. It doesn’t even matter if you get what you want in Washington. It does for the American people, but it doesn’t even matter if you get what you want as long as we win and you lose.

I’m not interested in making somebody lose. I’m not interested in being vindictive. I’m not interested in punishing — what was it the president said? Punishing our enemies? I’m not interested in that. I’m interested in moving forward. I’m interested in moving to common sense. I’m interested in moving in a direction of freedom. And so when it comes to these measles vaccinations, we have a lot in common with the left.

And we can’t separate ourselves. We have to reach out to — to allies that say, okay, I disagree with you on many things, on this, let’s agree. Let’s move forward on this.

PAT: Is it possible that the godless animals on the left love their children too? Is it possible?

GLENN: No, it’s not. It’s not possible.

PAT: No. We can’t consider that. We don’t have that in common.

GLENN: No.

PAT: We can’t come together on this —

GLENN: They’re just hatching children and then — I don’t know what they do it for, but…

PAT: Well, they do it for a tax write-off.

GLENN: I don’t think they’re interested in tax write-offs.

PAT: They pretend not to be, but they are.

GLENN: They’re just that evil.

PAT: They’re liars. All godless animals are liars.

GLENN: Thank you, Pat. I think you helped out a lot there.

PAT: It’s great. But we have that commonality. We all want the right thing for our kids and no one wants measles to spread through the society. How can we possibly come together on this?

GLENN: Wait. None of us want measles. None of us want our children to have measles. Nobody wants an outbreak or somebody to die from measles. Let’s have that as a baseline.

PAT: Right.

GLENN: However, we also don’t know what’s going on with autism. We don’t know what is happening to our children and to our families. If you look at what the numbers were for autism 25 years ago to what they are now, and now they’re saying.

PAT: Yeah, there’s something going on.

GLENN: I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s something. One in 300 now have autism. It used to be like one in 5,000. Now it’s one in 300. They’re saying, if this trend continues, by 2025, it will be one in every two will have autism. Well, I think that’s concerning.

PAT: Very.

GLENN: And if you happen to be a parent and you say, you know, I’m sorry, God gave me a brain. God gave me personal choice and responsibility for those choices, I’m going to say no to those vaccines because I’ve done my homework.

It’s not like — nobody that hasn’t done their homework says no to vaccines.

PAT: By the way. According to the CDC, about one in 68 children have identified with autism spectrum disorder. One in 68.

GLENN: Wow.

PAT: And you’re right. It used to be something like one in 5,000 or greater than that before. Now it’s one in 68. It’s amazing.

GLENN: And that could be our food. That could be our environment. That could be — it could be vaccines. I mean, there are — there is research that shows that the vaccines somehow or another, are tied to some children having — you know, going into —

PAT: It was that study in 1998 that threw a lot of people. And since, I think the doctor was kicked out of the medical association and it’s been pretty discredited. And there’s been a lot of evidence that they’ve thrown at us that is, no, it has nothing to do with it. A lot of people remain unconvinced because there’s something going on somewhere and we don’t know where.

GLENN: And the way to solve that is to not just brush it under the rug. Not to say, it has nothing to do with that. Science is settled on that.

PAT: And you’re a moron for even thinking it.

GLENN: Right. That doesn’t help. That won’t convince anybody. Coming out and saying, yes, it might. We don’t know. Now, let’s look at all the evidence.

PAT: That’s essentially what Obama was saying in 2008.

GLENN: Exactly right. Let’s really look at all of the evidence. We all have a right to opinions.

Now, we also have a responsibility — when we execute those opinions, we have a responsibility. So if you don’t want to have a vaccine for your kids, then the community does have a right to say, you’re not going to school. And you’re going to have to home school. That’s fine. That’s fine.

I mean, we have a right as a community to do those things. We don’t have a right to bash each other and say you’re a moron and I’ll strap you down to this table or I’ll take your children from you. You don’t have a right to do that.

I mean, since when? You know, Pat and I were you be talking about this. And I’d like to take some phone calls on this. We have a lot of great people who are on the phone already. I’m going to spend a lot of time on the phone today. But I’d like to hear. I’d like to make a list of all the people who have been discredited or destroyed in the last ten years.

PAT: By political correctness?

GLENN: By political correctness and by the political machine. On both sides. But look at how many people have been destroyed. This hasn’t happened before in my lifetime. Here’s another group of people that are now being rounded up and pointed at and being called morons and idiots and crackpots and crazies. Just totally discredited. If you stand — if you stand out of line, where is anybody saying, my gosh, we’re living in the days of Galileo. The church has become the State. And if you don’t practice their religion exactly the way they tell you to practice it, you’re done.

How many people have lost their jobs? Have lost their credibility? Start all the way back to — the — the — the — the auto bailout, with the GM dealers. Remember the GM dealers. All of a sudden they wake up morning, and the government says, you no longer have your dealership. What?

PAT: Mostly Republicans. Right?

GLENN: Yeah. I mean, that — that was the beginning of this. And it just doesn’t stop. We have got to unite. We’ve got to stand together.

I was talking to the chief rabbi of England, and he was so powerful. Man, he was one of the most powerful men I’ve met in a long, long time. And I said — you know, I told him where I thought things were headed. And he said, Glenn, let me tell you what God is telling me.

And this was off the air.

He said: God is calling all of his children to stand together. Muslim. Mormons. Catholics, Jews, Hindu. Buddhists, atheists, all of them. We all need to stand together. Because evil is going to pick us off one by one. And unless we stand firm on a few basic principles that we all have in common, we ain’t going to weather this storm. And he’s right.

We have to reach out and start talking about basic principles that we have in common. Because those things work. And I’m sorry, if freedom is a crazy idea, as Rand Paul said, well, then, you go ahead and call me crazy. I will — I will — I’ll proudly be deemed crazy for standing up fort freedom of choice.

I've noticed that either people:

A) Believe vaccines are good

or

B) Believe vaccines are bad

Doesn't seem to be any in-between.

Interesting. So, I'm pro-vaccination. And think that everyone should vaccinate their kids. And think the tie between autism and vaccinations has been clearly debunked.

But: Until now, I hadn't really thought about police-forced vaccinations of our kids. Coming into citizens houses, grabbing kids, and injecting them with medicine against parents' wishes. Not really a pleasent thought. But that is what we are talking about if we say that parents shouldn't have the choice on whether to vaccinate their kids.

I'm not advocating one way or another; just trying to get all the proper consequences on the table. And yes, I understand a consequence of not instituting police-state forced vaccinations is mass death-by-smallpox. Not very pleasent choices, if I had to chose.

NYC doesn't allow non-vaccinated kids into public school.

Different than police busting into your home, but still Gov mandated (if you want your kid to go to public school). Also might go towards explaining why so many people with money populate the non-vaccination camp- they can afford to send their kids to private schools who are more interested in the money than in vaccinations (from what little I've seen- 2 private schools).

I'm not sure what the in-between position would be.
vaccines might be ok, but don't tell me what to do with my kid.
They already do with multiple things.

1) Required schooling

2) Car seats

3) Laws regarding abuse and neglect

These are just a few general things that are in place for the good of children as well as others. You can choose to homeschool vs public/private school, but you can't just opt out and not educate your child. Same goes for #2 and #3. If you are found to be doing something or not doing something that is considered neglectful, your child can be taken away from you.

Again, I find this really fascinating, and I'd love to hear from both vaccers and the anti-vaccers. And the general question is: Is the status quo (assuming the rest of the country followed the NYC rule) acceptable, both as the minimum and maximum policy.

Stated another way, the rule: All children who want to go to public school must have vaccinations. Is that rule enough? Would you "pro-vaccination" folks go "farther" than this rule, and mandate that all children get vaccinated, and if they don't, we will force it.

If not, and the pro-vaccination folks are comfortable with the rule that ties vaccinations to public school, then maybe the pro vaccination set and the anti-vaccination set are not that far off? (assuming that the anti-vaccers are ok with tying vaccines to public school

To be fair, I think that's what Christie has been saying.
i like that he has a double-standard when it comes to public health issues. he can forcibly quarantine someone who was not contagious (Ebola) but can't work up the nerve to demand parents follow a protocol that can especially harmful to children and seniors.

Sounds like exponential growth. It's in the water!

I guess I considered that to be part of "vaccines are bad," since that's relatively common and it didn't make sense to me to suggest it didn't exist.

Put me in the camp of: vaccines are really, really, really good, but if you interpret "don't tell me what to do with my kid" as "don't force me with of police power into vaccinating my kid," then, yeah, I can understand where people are coming from.

EDIT: If I HAD to choose between only two options: Either police-forced vaccinations or danger of mass pandemic of smallbox (or similar outbreaks), I'd probably choose the former. I would not force vaccinations over measels, though (assuming that was the only danger).

I get that we want to leave some discretion to the parents if there's no serious risk to public health and welfare. But measles kills kids. According to the WHO the vaccine has saved the lives of an estimated 15.6 million children worldwide from 2000-2013. I'm perfectly fine with using police power to remove parents' discretion to make a decision that directly leads to lots and lots of dead kids.

This guy seems super cool

The Society Against Injecting Our Kids With Chemicals (TSAIOKWC for short) has a lot of followers.

I want to address all this misguided anger and see if we can re-direct it where it belongs.

  1. Be angry at food companies. Sugar cereals, donuts, cookies, and cupcakes lead to millions of deaths per year. At its worst, chicken pox killed 100 people per year. If those chicken pox people didn’t eat cereal and donuts, they may still be alive. Call up Nabisco and Kellogg’s and complain. Protest their products. Send THEM hate-mail.
  2. Be angry at fast food restaurants. Tortured meat burgers, pesticide fries, and hormone milkshakes are the problem. The problem is not Hepatitis B which is a virus contracted by drug users and those who sleep with prostitutes. And you want to inject that vaccine into your newborn?
  3. Be angry at the companies who make your toxic laundry detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. You and your children are wearing and breathing known carcinogens (they cause cancer). Call Bounce and Downy and let them know. These products kill more people than mumps, a virus which actually doesn’t cause anyone to die. Same with hepatitis A, a watery diarrhea.
  4. Be angry at all the companies spewing pollution into our environment. These chemicals and heavy metals are known to cause autism, heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disease and every other health problem. Worldwide, these lead to 10’s of millions of deaths every year. Measles deaths are a tiny fraction compared to pollution.
  5. Be angry at your parents for not breastfeeding you, co-sleeping with you, and stuffing your face with Domino’s so they can buy more Tide and finish the laundry. Breastfeeding protects your children from many infectious diseases.
  6. Be angry with your doctor for being close-minded and not disclosing the ingredients in vaccines (not that they read the package insert anyway). They should tell you about the aluminum, mercury, formaldehyde, aborted fetal tissue, animal proteins, polysorbate 80, antibiotics, and other chemicals in the shots. According to the Environmental Working Group, newborns contain over 200 chemicals as detected by cord blood. Maybe your doctor feels a few more chemicals injected into your child won’t be a big deal.
  7. Be angry with the cable companies and TV manufacturers for making you and your children fat and lazy, not wanting to exercise or play outside. Lack of exercise kills millions more than polio. Where are all those 80 year olds crippled by polio? I can’t seem to find many.
  8. In fact, be angry with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates for creating computers so you can sit around all day blasted with electromagnetic radiation reading posts like this.
  9. Be angry with pharmaceutical companies for allowing us to believe living the above life can be treated with drugs. Correctly prescribed drugs kill thousands of people per year. The flu kills just about no one. The vaccine never works.
Finally, be angry with yourself for not opening your eyes to the snow job and brainwashing which have taken over your mind. You NEVER asked the doctor any questions. You NEVER asked what is in the vaccines. You NEVER learned about these benign infections.

Let’s face it, you don’t really give a crap what your children eat. You don’t care about chemicals in their life. You don’t care if they sit around all day watching the TV or playing video games.

All you care about is drinking your Starbuck’s, your next plastic surgery, your next cocktail, your next affair, and your next sugar fix!

This post was created with love and with the idea of creating a better world for our children and future generations. Anger increases your risk of suffering a heart attack. Be careful.

This. A parent earnestly believing something is true doesn't make it ok if it puts children at substantial risk, even if it's "just" their own children. Society long ago recognized the need to protect children (and other folks incapable of protecting themselves) from harm from anyone else, including parents. Vaccinations have literally done more to save children's lives than anything else ever done by man aside from clean drinking water. That's a pretty compelling government interest.

I think drunk driving is terrible, but don't try to tell me whether I can go where I want to or not.
What, you want some kind of "police state" where we physically restrain people from getting in their car while trying to drive after drinking? Next you'll want them in handcuffs and hauled off to jail, right?

This post was created with love and with the idea of creating a better world for our children and future generations. Anger increases your risk of suffering a heart attack. Be careful.
Oh, OK...if you say so.

I've noticed that either people:

A) Believe vaccines are good

or

B) Believe vaccines are bad

Doesn't seem to be any in-between.
I'm not sure what the in-between position would be.
Using common sense
Ex: A delayed vaccination schedule vs giving a large amount of shots at one time. I did this with my 4 yo daughter, and she's currently caught up now.
A delayed vaccination schedule is very far from ideal and doesn't make much sense, honestly. There's a reason there's a vaccine schedule to begin with.

Vaccines (on schedule) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Delayed vaccination schedule>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>No vaccines.

It's better than nothing, but it's also not good for lots of reasons.

we did the delayed (really, it was asking for splitting out the vaccines rather than having them grouped in one per shot) with our first back when the autism correlation was more in the "highly dubious" not "proven incorrect" stage.

what makes it so terrible to you?

for me, it just meant more shots and trips to the doctor. I would've preferred having all 30 shots at once.

One of the main reasons you're giving vaccinations, especially at such young ages, is to protect your infants from these diseases. It's much more serious when a 2 month old gets Pertussis (whooping cough) than when a 2 year old gets Pertussis. Thus, if that vaccine is delayed months to years, it's just more unnecessary risk you're putting on your child with all that time they are unprotected.

Think of it this way: You have a 13 month old and you're in the same office as one of the measles cases. Do you think there's any difference between keeping to the schedule (i.e. your child is already protected) vs. if you were "just" on a delayed schedule (i.e., your child still has no immunity to measles even though you intend to at some point in the future)? Would you be questioning yourself at that very moment why did you risk delaying your kid's shots?

Do you put your kid in a car seat all the time? Or just 75% of the time? Sure, the likelihood of an accident is very low any time you drive. And the risk of injury if you were in an accident is going to be far lower if you put your kid in the car seat 75% of the time vs. not at all. But why would you risk it at all when it's intended to be used 100% and there is no danger in doing so?

So when you look at the reasons for delaying, of which really none make any sense scientifically, then it's just unnecessary risk and goes right back at the heart of the problem of not trusting mountains and mountains of research that shows they are both safe and are most effective when given on schedule.

Our kids have every vaccination required for school. But do we go out and get every single optional vaccination there is? No. Do we sign them up for the newest vaccinations if they haven't been tested to our satisfaction? No.

I've been in the medical field long enough to know that it's all about money. I'm not potentially putting my kids at risk on a new, optional vaccination that might be little more than a money grab.

What would that be?

You're a doctor? I wonder how many M.D. we have on FBG

The money angle similarly makes very little sense. Vaccinations are probably the least profitable of medications. These are given over a couple doses and not again. For both physician offices as well as pharm companies, there is FAR more money in a medication that is taken every day than a couple doses of a vaccine. Most private pediatric offices LOSE money giving vaccinations and it certainly doesn't make anything near what a daily med will make for a pharm company.

So you utilize the terms "we" and "our" when in reality you mean "my wife."

Well yea, but what happens when those vaccinations cause illnesses that require daily doses? Profit is what happens

If you think that these vaccines are causing illnesses as some sort of elaborate profit scheme, then it's unlikely anything I or anyone else says is going to change your mind.

Very few medicines have been studied as extensively as vaccinations and even fewer have the safety profile that vaccines do. Your conjecture above completely flies in the face of that and suggests that there's a huge conspiracy to push vaccines that aren't safe in order to make money later.

If that's what you believe, we can just leave it at that.
