Dodgers Offer Lowe/Kemp for Cano? (1 Viewer)

Dodgers have an interest in Robinson Cano and might be willing to deal Derek Lowe and outfielder Matt Kemp, but the Yankees aren't inclined to part with the red-hot second baseman unless there is a front-of-the-rotation-type starter coming to The Bronx. Lowe, who has the stomach for big games and has AL East experience with the Red Sox, doesn't fit that bill.

I don't get what would make the Yankees so hesitant. Kemp has better numbers across the board. Lowe has his moments. I like Cano, but I don't see a big downside for the Yankees on this deal.

I think most Dodger fans would call for Colletti's head if he actually made this deal. I know Lowe is a free agent after this season, but considering the West is there for the taking, he'd have to be an idiot to part with starting pitching at this point. And while Kemp is something of a knucklehead, he's an immensely talented knucklehead.

if they trade for Cano what happens to Kent??

I dont mind Lowe going since he is a FA and said he wants to test the market, but not Kemp. This deal makes absolutely no sense for LA.

Lowe and Laroche would be an ok deal. But they would need more then Cano in return.

I don't think this is a deal the Dodgers would do.

It takes out 2 of their better offensive players (Kemp & Kent) and gives away a lot of potential in Kemp. I have no doubts that the Dodgers would trade Kemp and Lowe. They have very solid pitching and can move Lowe if it means they get a bat. Kemp has had his problems and is frustrating player to manage. But I don't think they would give up both of these players to get 1 in return who will fit into a position that doesn't need to be filled this season.

No way the Dodgers would give Kemp and Lowe for Cano. However, I would give Lowe and LaRoche to lock up a second baseman for the future if I could move Kent in another deal at the same time.
