Does anyone dare bench VJax this week? (1 Viewer)

Many of us had VJax go off on our benches last week and may have cost us our season. This week he's in KC what kind of options must you have to bench him again?

Hell no! He could have a better game than my #1 Wr Steve Smith and #2 Wr Roddy White this week. VJ is a lock for me at the #3 spot and I am starting him over Hixon.

You just never know with VJax. He was quiet for a few weeks so last week I benched him and started Welker as my WR3. Welker had a nice game, but VJax went off. The Chargers seem to have many options and you just never know who's going to get the stats because they spread it around between LT, Sproles, Gates, Floyd, and VJax (even Chambers gets some love every now and then). I really want to start VJax this week, but in my playoff matchup I'm leaning towards starting Welker and counting on his dependable 7 to 13 points (non PPR) as my WR3.

It all depends on what you got and there is no way I am starting Jackson.

I start 2 WRs and I can not see myself benching Steve Smith (Carolina) or Andre Johnson regardless of matchups.

Edit to add: He did put up big points last week and his matchup looks good, but as a word of warning, generally speaking it's a mistake to chase points.

Week 10 against the Chiefs he had 5 receptions for 83 yards and Rivers missed him on his only red zone target.
Is that a vote of confidence for him this week? I'd prefer to see him targeted more than once in the red zone, but with as many weapons as San Diego has on offense that may not happen.

not a vote of confidence just giving the Data.By the way Dods has VJ list 35th this week. I really dont see him doing that bad. Dodds if you are reading this why should I start Hixon over VJ this week?

he's in over s. moss as my #3. Freaking ******* will probably put up a zero this week....
Two weeks ago when he got zero, he had two catches (one goal-line, another end zone) when he got pushed out that would have been tds last year. On the first one, he looked to have travelled 5 yards in the air.Still, it's hard to rely on guys that usually one catch a few passes per game. In his case, mostly 20+ yards each.

Yea but in my Nfl.com scoring format he is the 12th best WR on the year. He is one notch below Randy Moss and one notch above Antonio Bryant. He has a decent matchup against the Chiefs who have given up big plays through the air. Vincent averages 9.2 pts per game where D. Hixon has 3.2 per game and is facing a tougher secondary with the Cowboys. I just want to know the logic is all. Why #35? Is there an injury or something I am missing?

This is why I'm starting Welker over VJax as my WR3. I just can't risk the feast or famine VJax type in the playoffs (I keep trying to sell myself on this!!!! Damn I hate these types of decisions!!).

I am going back and forth between VJ and Isaac Bruce for my WR 3. It is just hard to get past VJ's lack of receptions.

Out of his 13 games, he has had 3 or fewer catches 7 times and he has had at least 6 receptions only once this year. It wouldnt be surprising to see him finish the game with only one or two receptions. SD might be out front early and then be running the ball and throwing short passes to Gates to keep the clock running. I think I am rolling with Bruce instead.

I guess today goes to show you generally shouldn't sit your STUDS....

Heading towards 1,000 yards and 7 TD's.... Next year, no Chambers, older Gates. Happy I played him, he saved my season, as my other STUDS, Fitz and White, decided not to come through today.

I hate you Vincent Jackson. I was your friend until the 4th quarter, then you decided to help out my opponent in the 4th quarter. It's not like your trying to get into the playoffs or anything. :bag:

When did the term "STUD" expand to include middle of the road WR2 types?
