This is for owners of both Benson and Scott. Is it just me or is Scott a top 10 fantasy back if Benson is inactive? Scott would be a ppr monster especially with how much Palmer is struggling throwing the ball downfield. I know Benson will probably play this week but the injuries will start to pile up for him and my guess is it's just a matter of time before Scott takes over.

Scott and Leonard RBBC if Benson doesnt go - see OAK game from last year, also last week Scott barely saw the field on offense

Scott had 21 carries and 3 receptions against Oakland last year (151 total yards). He also had 18 carries against Cleveland the following week when Benson was inactive. I would guess Leonard's role wouldn't change from what it is now if Benson weren't able to go. Maybe I'm wrong.

I fit the description i.e. Benson owner with Scott handcuffed. While I really like Scott's speed and welcome the idea of starting him (if Ced-Ben is out). I don't think he's built to take the 25-30 carry beating that Benson has been shouldering; I believe benson actually gets better later in the game as the D gets battered and wears down.

With that said, my vote would be for a 100% Ced-Ben first, with Scott getting 5-8 carries to spell him. If however, Benson couldn't go, I'd feel comfortable starting Scott (with a reasonable level of concern for his durability).

Benson didnt pratice Wednesday, but missing Wednesday practice and not playing are light years appart.

I think the title of your thread needs work.

What does the title say that isn't true? I also said in the original post that he will probably end up playing. Thanks for the excellent post though.

Leonard had 13 carries vs OAK, LJ had 22 carries the following week vs CLE.Im not saying Scott won't have value if Benson is out (which i think is unlikely), just that we shouldn't automatically put Scott in Benson's role.

Does Benson have more value if he doesnt play? not sure what you mean.

Bernard Scott has been marginal when he comes into the games for Benon. If you watch the games and I have watched a couple now, Benson finds yards that aren't there. The Cinci OL has struggled a bit and those thinking Scott is a top10 RB in the making are delusional.

Put another way, Benson has done nothing to make folks think he would lose his job to Scott, it's not happening unless he suffers a serious injury which I don't believe he has right now.

Other things owners need to look at. Most prototype RBs in the NFL weigh about 215-225 lbs. There are exceptions but if one more person types in Chris Johnson every time someone questions a players physical make up...there is 1 Chris Johnson. Scott is a COP back, that's what he is, he's about 195 lbs and could not take the beating that Benson takes. Most of his touches have been in situations where it didn't matter.

New England week 1- He came into the game after Cinci was getting blown out.

Baltimore week 2- He was held in check and Baltimore allows 4.7 ypc on rush defense so what happened?

Carolina week 3- Mop up duty with 4:00 to go he got 2 carries

He's done nothing to unseat Benson and I don't think the coaching staff trusts him much either. Also his runs are designed more for outside and Cinci likes to pound the ball up inside, not what his game is about.

Why use "questionable" in the thread title? I just got a misguided Bernard boner.

CBS version of "questionable" and official injury report submitted to the league are light years apart.
Actually, "questionable" on Wednesday and "questionable" on Friday is the bigger issue. If I ma not mistaken, a player who misses practice on Wednesday is automatically listed as questionable (on the official injury report). It is only changed after Friday's practice (again, IIRC).
