Does it scare anyone else? (1 Viewer)

This is actaully the # of jersey he is wearing. I've never seen a running back in the pro's wearing a single digit #. I know usually they wear one on draft day but I saw a picture of him holding up the jersey the #1 on it with V. Young holding up his with his # and Leinart showing up his #. Does this scare anyone that he WON'T be used as a runningback?

I always love when guys who have never made a single NFL play think that they are so important that they can change the league's rules.

I already saw this thread. I believe, although don't have a link, he lost the appeal considering NFL shop is selling #1 Bush jersey's. I'd think people that have been purchasing them for the last 3 days wouldn't be too happy if he switched #'s.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The point of my post was that if he "can't wear" #5 because of his position, how could he wear #1? The position requirements are the same (only QB's and kickers can wear single digits). Ergo, he will not be wearing #1.

I dont really think that he will be wearing #1. I mean i could be wrong but when Tim Couch was drafted he held up the #1 jersey and he wasnt number 1. Anybody remember?

As have most 1st rond picks. I saw a clip of Santonio Holmes holding up a #1 Steelers' jersey talking about how he'd like to wear #10.

um, every first round pick (except VY) this year held up the #1 jersey. It signifies 1st round pick.

He won't get assigned a real number for a while. I believe NFL Shop is taking pre-orders for his jersey now and won't release them until he has a number assigned.

The #1 jerseys are just for show. The people ordering the Bush jerseys are simply pre-ordering them and they will get the number that Bush will eventually wear. He can choose a number between 20 and 49. These are the numbers taken and the guys that have them:

20 Bellamy, Jay S 5-11 200 33 13 Rutgers

21 Craft, Jason CB 5-10 187 30 8 Colorado State

22 Thomas, Fred CB 5-9 185 32 11 Tennessee-Martin

23 Stoutmire, Omar S 5-11 205 31 10 Fresno State

24 Smith, Dwight S 5-10 201 27 6 Akron

25 McAfee, Fred RB 5-10 193 37 15 Mississippi College

26 McAllister, Deuce RB 6-1 232 27 6 Mississippi

27 Stecker, Aaron RB 5-10 213 30 7 Western Illinois

28 Bennett, Michael RB 5-9 209 27 6 Wisconsin

29 Bullocks, Josh S 6-1 207 23 2 Nebraska

30 Booker, Fred CB 5-9 199 27 2 Louisiana State

31 Thomas, Joey CB 6-1 190 25 3 Montana State

33 Joseph, Keith RB 6-2 249 24 1 Texas A&M

34 McKenzie, Mike CB 6-0 194 30 8 Memphis

35 Branch, Jamal RB 5-11 230 25 R Colgate

37 Gleason, Steve S 5-11 212 29 6 Washington State

38 Scott, Bryan S 6-1 219 25 4 Penn State

44 Karney, Mike FB 5-11 258 24 3 Arizona State

46 Schurman, Nate FB 6-2 247 24 2 Missouri State

47 Houser, Kevin LS 6-2 252 28 7 Ohio State

So, assuming nobody's cut, and he doesn't take a number in the 40s (because that would be laaaaaaame), it looks like it's either 32 or 39. I'd take the 32 and stop whining.

He has petitioned the NFL to wear #5 and NFL Live said he will likely be wearing #25. Someone else already explained the #1 thing.

Paul Hornung wore #5 for the Packers. I'm not sure what the big deal is about wearing the single digit number.

Someone is going to make some extra cash when they sell Reggie whichever number he wants.

Why is a number in the 40s lame? If he wants to be different, that's the easy way to go. Bush #45.

Chuck Foreman wore #44 and he definately was NOT lame!To the original poster, Lawrence Maroney was pictured in New England with Bob Kraft holding his number 1 jersey. As it was said earlier, numbers are not chosen yet.

I bet he will wind up with 32 after the NFL tells him he can't wear 5. That is available and 3+2=5. (Unless you did poorly on the Wonderlick.)

It took until post 14 for people to realize this??

Reggie will take 23: 2 + 3 = 5

I know this happens every year. My question was why was NFL shop selling it like that. Andy later said it was for pre orders. That's the answer I was looking for. As for the :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Go  :hot: yourself

Maybe they just didn't have a jersey made yet, so he had to hold up another one. I think that we're all a little one edge right now for some reason...

Well then, from the NFL Shop website:
Players must be approved by PLAYERS INC before jerseys can be produced. The #1 pick name plate and number will update shortly and jersey will ship about 2-3 weeks after the player's actual jersey number has been determined.
If you saw the shirt for sale.....

Well right here they have Young with 10, V. Davis with 85, Brick with 60 and Mario with 90. This is why I'm wondering why they show Bush with the #1 right by them.

I clicked on it and it did read like thisPlayers must be approved by PLAYERS INC before jerseys can be produced. The #1 pick name plate and number will update shortly and jersey will ship about 2-3 weeks after the player's actual jersey number has been determined. The officially licensed nylon diamond back mesh New Orleans Saints Reggie Bush Replica Jersey is decorated in the team colors and designed with the screen-printed player and team graphics on the front and back.

My bad
