Does Tom Brady have an anger issue? (1 Viewer)

Obviously none of us know him personally but watching the pregame. Chandler Jones was on and he talked about how during practice after throwing an incomplete pass to Gronk he took off his helmet and threw it to the ground.

We all likely know his recent episodes of swearing with 3 consecutive f bombs on multiple occasions.

So do you take this as being competitive, little childish, or an anger issue?

Who cares. Whatever it is, it drives him to be great. Most of the greats, they have some sort of screw loose. It's unnatural to have the focus, willpower, dedication, to perfect something to that degree. These guys aren't normal, they're driven by something most of us can't even fathom, much less understand.

Got it, so we need to stop those elementary school coaches from stunting the next Tom Brady by telling them to be a good sport and being gracious in defeat.

You teach children those things so that they can function around other children without causing a scene and being an outcast. Adults don't really live by the same rules, especially when they're getting paid to compete. Again, you and I can't understand what's inside the head of a man who is driven to be the best, who has perfected his craft to the level that he has. It's abnormal, and he's probably a little crazy.

LOL. TB gets a pass for being an ### because we just don't understand. I'm sure most Nobel Prize winners have the same temper tantrums.

Being mad doesn't make you an ###. If you expect your team to do as they are coached and have shown to be fully capable to do so and they don't it should make you mad. If you have the very reasonable expectations for the refs to throw a flag when a guy walks right up to you and pokes you in the eye and they don't I would be ####### livid.

Being mad when you fail is "being an ###"? Even if he was an ###, I didn't say he gets a pass--I said you can't get inside of his head, the same way you couldn't get inside a sociopath's head or imagine what it's like to be OCD. Someone driven to be perfect like Brady isn't wired the way your average message board poster is. That was my point. I can't even begin to figure out where to start criticizing your comparison of a Nobel Prize winner to someone who is a HOF-level athlete. Different types of excellence is all I'm going to say. Different skill-sets, to put it simply.

I agree. My Nobel Prize thing was WAY off. I like your sociopath comparison considerably better.

I don't ####### remember typing those ####### #'s who in the ####### hell is limiting my right to ####### cuss #### #### ####

So do you take this as being competitive, little childish, or an anger issue?
I take it as being a jerk. Yelling at other guys on his team the way he does is just him being a jerk. Nobody should be treated like that. I guess Im a fan of encouraging someone instead of blasting them.

Define "anger issue".

Generally, it's only an "issue" if it is detrimental to either his or the teams performace. Pretty sure it's not, so no.

This is NFL football, not spiking the water cooler or your pocket protector at work.

Me too, if that actually worked for EVERYONE. But, it does not.
Not everyone is a Patriot, its not like they are bullying people - they deal with this #### everyday. Their modus operandi is literally do your job, its all your expected to do - you don't do it, you lose your job.

Andrews started all year at Center with Stork hurt. After the first drive Andrews is now on the sideline and Stork is back at Center - do your job.

So if Blount fumbes twice and misses a pass protection, and Brady yells at him, he can't go to Human Resources and complain?

:D

I am a Brady and Pats hater and have no problem admitting it. Part of that reason is that I've always felt Brady acts like an arrogant, spoiled brat. That said I've never thought of it in terms of him having "anger issues." And even if he does, really what is the point and who cares? Do you think he gets a pass for it?

I could see that point but I still don't really care. Lots of all time great athletes have been d-bags, jerks, whatever you want to call them.

I'd agree with you, but Brady wasn't always like how he is now. I'd argue the rules that developed over his career to make him and other QBs literally invincible out on the field lead to his current attitude.

I could see that being true. He's definitely a bit of a primadonna and the NFL rules could be reinforcing that. Isnt the go low on the QB rule there in part b/c of Brady's injury?

Again, I really don't care all that much. Jordan is probably my favorite athlete of all time and I've heard multiple 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hand accounts that he's pretty much a major d-bag. He once punched a teamate in practice. Speaking of which, Steve Smith definitely has anger issues and I like him just like many other people do. Elway is another one who I've heard multiple 1st hand accounts is a major league d-bag. Never liked him either fwiw. But its football.

Brady acts like a jerk at times on the field and off the field the worst that can be said is that he's a bit annoying. Pats fans and people who like him obviously have plenty of reason too though. So again, whats the real point here?

He has a "winning" issue that's annoying enough.

I could care less if he's angry.

You sound soft. Did you not make the varsity team in high school. Did you even play sports?
I didn't know yelling at people made you tough. Thanks for clarifying.

Lol, now Phillip Rivers, that guy might be fueled by pure rage.
Pip seems like a really nice/cool/funny guy in interviews... but has that weird pent up anger/aggression that I also see in my friends that have that many kids.

Brady just has that little bit of Cartman in him.

Wasn't Jordan a notorious ####### that was constantly belittling teammates?
Yeah, endless arguments/fights with teammates, single-handedly ended Kwame Brown's career through emotional harassment, more trash talk than anyone ever, fights with opponents, and had no qualms about regularly cheating on his wife with multiple women.

Brady is a great QB but I've always thought he was also kind of lucky to end up with such a great coaching staff that can take care of stuff.

I think mainly back to that year they had all those crummy rookie WRs. I remember one game where the WRs weren't on the same page with him and were messing up the routes or making different reads than Brady. Rather than go to them and talk to them about it and try and get on the same page, he'd go to the sideline, slam his helmet down, and then sit there alone until the next series.

Right, so Brady gets pissed when he or his teammates don't execute and he is a petulant child with anger issues, and Cutler shows no emotion when he or his team doesn't execute and he doesn't care about football or his team.

This thread is just dumb. And it is not just anti-pats people, pats fans got on Peyton's jock for yelling at his linemen back in his Colts days. People will find any excuse to belittle players they don't like.

FWIW, not a Patriots fan here in the least. But you go on believing you're wired the same way as someone like Brady. I'm sure his career has just been a happy accident.

FWIW, I agree with you. For the average Joe, it's more comforting to think that these people just woke up one day and realized they were pretty good at this sports/music/math/science thing and just decided to "go with it". In reality it's an alignment / convergence of aptitude, drive and focus.

As far as Brady goes, who the hell knows? I've never been a part of an NFL locker room but I doubt many top tier QBs really "relate" to their team mates or them to him. At the end of the day, 70% of them are getting into their Hondas and driving home. The rest are getting into their BMWs and Tom is driving away in a Bentley. He literally lives in a different world from everyone else.

I heard it was really Brady that whipped Adrian Peterson's kid, punched out Ray Rice's fiancé, and tossed Hardy's girlfriend onto the pile of guns. There are also unconfirmed but credible rumors he started the recent Ebola outbreak and that he does motivational videos for Boko Harem.

Sympathy For Tom Brady

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and fate

I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moments of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a General's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I watched the glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the Gods they made

I shouted out
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
Well after all
It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game, ooh yeah

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails just call me Tom Brady
I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me, have some courtesy
Have some sympathy and some taste
Use all your well learned politics
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, mmm yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, mmm yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, get down
Woo hoo, ah yeah, get on down, oh yeah

Tell me, baby, what's my name?
Tell me, honey, baby guess my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name?
I'll ya one time you're to blame

What's my name?
Tell me, baby, what's my name?
