Dolphin Players bullied Jonathan Martin, Richie Incognito SUSPENDED (3 Viewers)

All speculation on my part as the only thing this ridiculous story has had is a phone message and some text's. And some of those are from Martin to Incognito too.

This has reeked of complete and utter BS from the get go. And now....slowly but surely....I am getting more and more positive that it is in fact...just that. A whole bunch of BS.

Guy fails at LT....demoted to RT.....fails at RT at New England.....on his way to being demoted again.

Martin is a nut bar.....pure nutter butter.

He will never.....ever play in the NFL ever again.

Bye bye.

The Dolphins team/players......are unfazed by all of this and in fact are playing some great football on the road. Let's see if they can put it together this Sunday and kick New England's candy asses. The public and press took this and ran....and Martin's lawyers were the catalyst for all of it. The players and coaches....have always known from the get go this is all a huge pile of donkey crap.

Indeed.....when it is all said and done....it will be just that.

And yeah.....Martin is a pansy, and probably bi-polar.....and in need of some serious happy pills.

Call a spade a spade. He has acted like a guy who failed in the NFL.....and blamed everyone but himself. It's a total farce.

If I am wrong.....then I am wrong....but my goodness....my common sense is telling me this whole thing is mostly overblown and totally being trumped up by Martin. He is making it a lot worse then most think. It is shame how so many in the media jumped to conclusions, calling Incognito a racist, this never goes on in my locker room....yada yada yada...yeah talking about you Tom Jackson and most of the Countdown crew.....doing public relation damage control. Even Steven Ross.....he panicked big time.

Incognito will be picked up by another team...this year...making a playoff run while Martin will be in a Malibu rehab clinic for depressed fat former NFL lineman.

Go Dolphins!!!

if he really did nothing, incognito won't be fired, so that will be your answer, todem.

under the circumstances, you may want to rethink the unfortunate choice of words (maybe bigboy would be fine with it, though).

"Call a spade a spade" (i realize you didn't mean anything, it generally doesn't have racist connotations, but the root word can - surely we can come up with other figures of speech with less possibility of misinterpretation?).

edit/add - suggested per KC (if he is effectively "fired" by not being allowed to play and not retained in 2014), if he didn't do anything, wouldn't they let him play... why wouldn't they retain him next season?

It's OK. Totem is an honorary.

Also, I don't think Incognito will be playing in the playoffs this year. The belief is that he and the Dolphins will agree to pay Richie for the rest of this year. He will become a free agent in March. It that's the case, then he won't be cut outright.

That post was candy for my knuckle-dragging soul.

So proud of this squad.

Despite this 3 ring circus, sub par coaching and piss poor public relations from Steve Ross (### clown) they are putting together a run here.

They have a shot...a real shot to go 10-6.

Easy there hoss, if they had taken care of business at home with Buffalo the first go around things would be easier, i don't think for a second they will have a cake walk up there this week. Be lucky to win the game. I still see 9-7 either Win-Buf/Lose NYJ or Lose Buff/Win NYJ but I hope you are right. I'm still not sold and they have let so many slip away from them…Balt-Home, Buf-Home, Car-Home…all 3 of those were lost on either the last play/kick of the game or under 1:00 left before they were decided. NE on the road was a very winnable game and they chucked that one as well, the refs kind of helped out the Pats that day but whatever. Miami 8-6, should be 11-3 and in 1st place of the division but we'll deal with the reality of the situation.

Miami has beaten Cin, NE, Indy…what playoff team outside of Denver can they not play toe to toe with? Miami also is not a terrible road team, a win @Buf would give them a 5-3 road record this season, not bad for a 6 seed in the playoffs that will have to travel. A wildcard team won the SB several times in the last 5 years, someone is likely to make some noise this year. I would assume either the KC/Den loser of the West would be the best bet but you never know.

And Peter King tweeted out tonight...

Peter King@SI_PeterKing2h
Miami 5-2 since Jonathan Martin slammed his tray of pasta to the Dolphins cafeteria floor.
King has covered the NFL for decades now, has a HoF vote every year, I would think if he thought Miami was gonna get the axe by Goodell you would not see this, would be worded a bit different.
Did you really just quote yourself two minutes after your original post?

Now I see how you got to 44k posts.

I knew you would come along and say that, I couldn't post after I quoted from the Twitter or add my own .02 after the Twitter copy so you got that instead.

As a sports fan you would have to say that their turnaround, given the circumstances, has been remarkable.

Richie Incognito - G - Dolphins
In-limbo Dolphins LG Richie Incognito will remain on the reserve/suspended with pay for the season's remainder.
There was previously some speculation Incognito could return to the Dolphins, but the sides reached an agreement on Monday and it was signed off on by the NFL Players Association. Incognito will not be eligible to return for the playoffs, if the Fins secure the AFC's sixth seed. A Monday night loss by Baltimore could go a long way toward ensuring Miami reaches the 2013 postseason.

Why would Richie and the NFLPA sign off on this? To me this is one of the more interesting parts of this whole thing. An innocent man wants to be known as innocent.

Same reason Martin is probably taking it in the direction that he is taking it. The Benjamins!

If he doesn't agree to it, they will release him (I assume). He may get picked up, but teams may shy away due to the media circus that would follow. I also saw speculation that he negotiated to be paid for the 2 weeks that he was not paid for during the suspension in the last agreement. He also knows that the truth will come out in the wash as to his guilt or innocence, one way or the other. No matter what, his image has been tarnished, and deservedly so. The golf course incident came out as a result of this allegation of bullying. That is not something he can escape from.

I don't know that he is admitting to guilt by accepting the agreement, but I can understand why some people would think that.

Whether people see it as a matter of guilt or not would be irrelevant to me. (If I was in Richie shoes)

Some have said that the NFL wants to push this case down the road until after the season. They don't want to tarnish things by having this play out right now.

If I'm Richie, and I'm innocent, I say F-you NFL. I didn't do anything that warrants this length of suspension.

Big Ben got 6 game suspension for his personal conduct violation. Not sure this would be considered worse, if it's just the golf course incident.

Since both Incognito and Martin have been gone, the Dolphins' offensive line play has improved. Their replacements are giving up fewer sacks. And the Dolphins are one of the rising teams in the league right now. Regardless of whether you're pro-Martin or pro-Incognito or anti-either-one, there's no denying the Dolphins are doing better without them.

Weeks ago some Dolphins fans were in a panic about this whole thing dragging the whole team down. I think that panic is over now.

Dysfunctional teams don't function well. That's a tautology, but as anyone who's been in this situation knows, getting rid of the people driving dysfunctional team dynamics is addition by subtraction.

This whole assumption about the Dolphins being dysfunctional...

.... how exactly if they're soooo dysfunctional have they stayed on the playoff path and played so well and so together?

They haven't blown up.

They haven't gone on a losing streak.

None of the coaches have been fired.

The teammates haven't turned on each other or gone into media gabfest backstabbing mode like the Jets last year.

I'm going to confess to not knowing the post Meat Loaf Episode stats vs the pre-meatloaf blowup stats, but I do know that opposing DST's have not been good matchups vs the Phins, it's not like the line has been porous and allowing piles of sacks. The o-line appears fine.

Really 77 pages into this thing and it just looks like .... nothing. So it's two jerks and now they're gone, so addition by subtraction is the conclusion.

that is exactly right, chuck. he could have forced the issue and demanded a release, but with an uncertain future, this way he gets paid to sit at home (maybe do some golfing), and let the dust settle. sometimes the public has a short memory, he may be less likely to be hounded about this next year (at least, not to the same degree). but I suppose it depends on what emerges from the report post-super bowl.

Things have changed since Incognito and Martin have been gone. This was written October 27 for example:

There are a few explanations, though, and the easiest one to see is the offensive line -- from a bird's eye view or the view from the couch.

Tannehill has been sacked a league-high 32 times. He's on pace to be sacked 73 times, which would shatter the team record of 53 sacks allowed in a season set in 1969. The Dolphins haven't seen an offensive line this bad in nearly half-a-century.

So on 10/27/13 they had 32 sacks in 7 games, and now they have 51 sacks all year through 14 games.

So 32 in 7 before the Meat Loaf Blowup, and 19 sacks in 7 games since.

Honestly it sounds like the most dysfunctional thing on this team was the offensive coaches couldn't tell who their best linemen were.

Plus he made $5M this season so he almost had enough to live the rest of his life if he were a careful person which we all know he isn't. I can see teams lining up to sing Incognito and just keep him off the leadership council, he is a missing link for some OL out there and the list is long right now.

He's still a dbag.

Honestly it sounds like the most dysfunctional thing on this team was the offensive coaches couldn't tell who their best linemen were.
Talent and performance aren't always aligned. If two guys on the team aren't happy with each other, it can drag a unit's performance down, even if those two guys are both talented in their own ways. A less talented team which is working well together can perform better than a more-talented team that hates each other.

This is why I have a no a-holes rule when hiring. (Which can be hard in the tech field).

They traded for McKinnie let's not forget. he was a massive upgrade from Martin at LT, McKinnie rarely needs a double team so the LG can make a choice what he wants to do on pass protection and Pouncey usually doesn't need much help. Miami can help Clabo at RT with a double team from the TE spot as needed, John Jerry at RG is simply avg, Pouncey probably rolls that way to assist.

I don't think people understand how truly awful Martin was at LT. In the Miami Dolphins season thread I posted he was gonna have major problems, nothing sounded good about what he was doing to prepare IMO.

Also Tannehill is getting the ball out a bit faster as of late.

Jason Taylor says "bullying" incident has been overblown by media

He is obviously a very closed-minded knuckle dragging idiot, but this is the opinion of a man who spent a lot of time in the Dolphins locker room and within the NFL culture.
It's going to end up being nothing.....been saying that from the very start. The national media took this story and it went viral. Meanwhile our local media has been pretty steadfast (Omar Kelly, Dave Hyde, Armando, Joe Rose etc etc etc) that this looks, smells and feels like a total sham. Overblown, and our team obviously is showing....it was really nothing more than a guy...who lost his job and has some serious sour grapes, a weak mental makeup and is not NFL material. NFL locker rooms are far more resiliant than most people think. Everyone thought this would tear the team apart etc. They have gotten stronger. The distractions have been removed. The Tampa game was rock bottom, the loss to Carolina was a wake up call. This team is hot. More importantly.....we have a very hot QB in Ryan Tannehill 10 TD's 2 picks in the month of December and he is getting more and more confident. I loved what I saw vs the Pats. Even the playcalling was great that game. They put it all together. Came up big in the end. This week....take care of business in snowy Buffalo. it will be a tough tough game. No question we have to play great football and get back home vs the hapless Jets and finish out this season 10-6. We control our own destiny. Make it happen Dolphins.....make it happen.

As far as this....non-story....it will be dealt with after the season. The NFL has swept this under the rug and are going to say nothing till after the season is over. Incognito and Martin are done for the season.....the story is over till after the Super Bowl. Then both players will be gone from the Dolphins officially.

Total BS. No question in my mind about it now.

So when does this report come out? I would've thought if there was anything really damning in there, we would've heard it by now or the report would've been. Which pretty much confirms what I've been thinking all along, this has been completely blown out of proportion.

Agree Matt, the longer it takes the less there is to see IMO. If Tedd Wells had found some really heinous things I think Miami would have been put on notice immediately. This is such s shame that the media made so much out of this story, they won't go back and correct anything they reported on, no one in the media is going to apologize to the Phins, their fans, nothing. They sold big time TV ratings and you all should remember that the next time you get a day time soap opera pushed by the media.

Martin leaked a lot of terrible information to sway the public his way and now everyone around him is going to find out the hard way that Martin wasn't telling the whole truth.

Actually, that picture of Martin looks kind of creepy. I can't tell if that's a forced smile or a real smile. Maybe you Dolphins fans have seen more of Martin smiling to know.

Martin never said Richie was holding a gun to his head and forcing players to go to strip clubs. What has been revealed is that Dolphins OL meetings were being held at strip clubs. Those not attending were subject to fines. This would fall under the "terrible" information that Martin leaked about having to pay Vets money.

If anything, we figured out the problem with the Dolphins Offensive line. It's clear from that picture of the Offensive Line meeting that Martin thought that was the correct way to handle a double gap blitz. Once Richie was suspended, and the strip club meetings stopped, the OL seemed to improve. Even you Dolphin homers are on record admitting this.

Also, I guess the media made a big deal out of the golf attendant and the Dolphins employee situation. MOP, it's sad that your love of the Dolphins can't see the facts.

The NFL is just waiting until after the season to air the Dolphins dirty laundry. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Ross and Ireland already had information from the league that lead to the mutual agreement to part ways.

It's such a non story now.....exactly what the NFL, The Dolphins and Richie Incognito wanted.

Ireland was fired because he stunk. This may have added some more gasoline to an already out of control burning building known as the Miami Dolphins. The entire orgainazation has had no clear vision or direction since Jimmy Johnson left. I say Jimmy Johnson because he at least was a real genuine football guru and drafted some incredible defensive players for us in is short tenture etc.

Anyway.....Martina will never play another down of NFL football.....ever again. Incognito will be on someones roster next season barring any NFL imposed suspension if this indeed is ugly...which is highly doubtful IMO.

Now all the Fins have to do is get in a real GM who will bring in a real NFL coach.

Philbin avoiding the axe? Are you kidding me? The buck stops with the head coach with those last two games of the season.....fire his ###.

Yes, that was probably a forced smile and Incognito probably forced that stack of bills in Martin's hand as well.

Check out TMZ. Looks like Incognito wasn't holding any guns to Martin's head to get him to the skrip clubs. :lmao:

Hilarious picture, really looks like a guy who hates going to these type of tawdry establishments. Tootsie's no less.
Sounds like MOP is making a statement that is cousin to "She deserved it, look at how she was dancing that night". To the more sensible people in here, this picture says Martin had a good time at a strip club once. That's it.

Maybe was struggling as an NFL offensive lineman and he felt the mandatory meetings at a strip club (while fun) weren't helping his nfl career. But, since King Richie demanded the meetings, at the strip club, Martin had no choice.

Jonathan Martin didn't look like a man who was dragged into hitting strip clubs before he accused teammate Richie Incognito of bullying ... at least judging by this pic, which is now in the hands of investigators and obtained by TMZ Sports.

Of course, after Martin left the Miami Dolphins in the wake of his bullying allegations against Richie, there were reports Incognito had been holding linemen meetings at Tootsie's Cabaret in Miami ... and players who didn't show up were fined and mocked.

But sources connected to the NFL investigation tell TMZ Sports ... Martin had sent several text messages to Richie before the fallout making it clear he was VERY comfortable hanging out in strip clubs.

In fact, we're told the picture (above) was taken at Tootsie's during a team outing in the summer of 2013. Sources connected to the strip club tell us Martin was hanging out with roughly 15 to 30 teammates that night and appeared to be enjoying himself (just look at the grin and the stack of cash in his hand).

We're also told ... the text messages show Martin would OFTEN reach out to Incognito about his fondness for strip clubs, especially Tootsie's ... and never gave any hint that he was ever uncomfortable in that scene.

In one of the texts, sent in June 2013, Martin told Incognito he liked Tootsie's so much, he planned to bring some visiting high school friends to the joint for a good time.

There's more ... we're also told the text exchanges show a conversation in which Martin said he couldn't make it out one night because "Mary Jane" had him glued to his couch.

We also know investigators have obtained hundreds of texts between Richie and Martin, which show they often exchanged graphic taunts ... and that Martin gave as good as he got. Incognito has previously explained that he considered Martin one of his best friends and that the texts were in good fun.

We reached out to Martin's camp for comment -- and a rep told us, "We are fully participating in the independent investigation and await the results."

Those with an open mind would say that this is clearly possible. We don't know any facts about the golf course. There is a difference between what could have been some drunken, over the top stupid flirting by an idiot, and sexual harassment. If we have learned nothing from how the media (and several in this thread) have blown a nothing incident into the worst adult hazing event ever to happen within the American boundaries, then shame on us. Those with an open mind would consider all options before jumping to the conclusion that just because the media says it may have happened one way, that it in fact did happen that way.

That's it.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I'm sure your fictional work will be more compelling. Fire away.

Apologize to MOP

Maybe was struggling as an NFL offensive lineman and he felt the mandatory meetings at a strip club (while fun) weren't helping his nfl career. But, since King Richie demanded the meetings, at the strip club, Martin had no choice.
Yeah, because looking at naked women has everything to do with how you block (or in his case, don't block) a defensive end. I knew the Jonathan Martin fan club would find a way to spin even this news into it being somebody else's fault..
