Domenik Hixon (1 Viewer)

Yes. thanks hixon for the Early Score and good yardage.

Also. Strahan said before the game that Domenik Hixon will be a "SUPERSTAR" in the future. Did anyone else see this ?

Just traded earlier this week in my dynasty.

Jennings

for

His

Steve Slaton

Steve Smith(NYG)

Domenik Hixon

2009 1st rounder. (good picck)

Hixon certainly made the most of his 15 minutes of fame.

But now Burress is reinstated, and that means Hixon will be back on the bench.

Why? Can't Hixon and Burress play at the same time?
They could, but by and large they haven't. Hixon went for 6-89-0 combined in the first three games.
That's correct, but his targets were increasing. He had 0 in the 1st game, 3 in the 2nd game, 4 in the 3rd game, and 4 in the 1st half of the last game. In addition, of those 11 targets, he has 10 receptions. I don't think more targets going his way would be out of the question.

So you've indicated that Hixon receives between 0 and 4 targets per game, when Burress is active. That's WW material in most leagues.I'd want to know more about how versatile the guy is, and how many different spots the Giants feel comfortable playing him at (does he work out of the slot? Can he play Toomer's position?), before I'd feel good about projecting an increase in targets. If he doesn't do much beyond back up Burress, then that increase seems unlikely to materialize, especially considering he'd be fighting Smith, Moss, and Manningham for those extra targets.

Hixon played far better than I thought.

The Giants don't do so well without Toomer. It might be more leadership than production but, he's a cog I don't think they're as anxious to replace as it would seem.

Anyone feel when Toomer retires Hixon will be the #2 over Steve Smith??

Like i said.

Strahan called the kid a "superstar" for the future

Considering he started ahead of Steve Smith... you might be on to something.
I think they simply like Smith in the slot for 08.If Toomer retired, it would probably be best for all to let Smith and Hixon battle it out in camp and benefit from the competition.

I would think if Toomer retires, Smith stays in the slot and Hixon moves over to Toomers spot.

I'm not sure that's true.Smith is more like Toomer and Hixon like Plax.I think if Toomer retires, Smith takes the spot.

I would think its Smith and Moss in the slot with Hixon and Manningham battling for the #2 reciever opposite Burress....So... in a dynasty league is Hixon worth a bench spot until it sorts itself out ????? I personally like Hixon to start opposit Burress starting in 2009
