On a Tuesday. Impressive.

This tells me that Sidney Rice won't be ready to go anytime soon, possibly even this season.
Interesting way to look at thing. I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, but it could also be they see fantastic value and this will help them win in the short term, while making them a terror come playoff time (assuming Rice gets healthy). Favre, ADP, Moss, Rice, Harvin, and Shiancoe? I don't want to be the defensive coordinator figuring out that mess.

Holy bejeebus! Pretty amazing that this isn't just made up and has some credibility! Dang!

will Tate move right into Moss' role?

Ok since Minny has had their bye and the Patriots haven't would Moss get 17 game checks? Or was the 0 catch night last night considered his bye week?

per Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald:

After Week 1, Randy Moss had his agent Joel Segal call Bill Belichick and ask for a trade, The Herald's Karen Guregian has learned

This would likely open up a spot for Julian Edelman, who they're extremely high on, as well. I believe Edelman is a sure-fire future FF stud (especially in PPR leagues). What he's accomplished so far in his pro career at WR after playing QB in college is remarkable. In fact, truth be known, he could do what Welker is doing right now, possibly better, IMO. And if not now, in the near future. That's how good this kid can be as a slot guy.
Welker and Edelman play the slot and neither one really translates to playing on the outside or is a deep threat. Edelamn would probably see some more time on the field, but I don't think that makes him a starter as long as Welker is healthy and around.
Any thoughts on Tate's value if this trade happens?
It won't go down any.I wonder if this is only one piece of the puzzle and that the Pats might be talking to SD about getting Vincent Jackson (and that is TOTALLY speculation on my part).
Do you think the Chargers would even deal with the Pats? Assuming the pats offer up the price AJ was asking.

I think moss would get way more targets than he has been getting now, favre wont be looking for a welker type guy every other throw

Here's the potential negative for us Moss owners though-- if this doesn't go down- Moss will be either 1. pissed that the Patriots disrespected him and proof that he isn't in their plans or 2. if true that he has been the one pushing for a trade and it doesn't get done he's pissed.........

Either way he's pissed and I bet we're in Oakland "he's tanking" it mode again.. This trade has to happen or Moss becomes barely startable as a Patriot IMO

Sounds a lot like the Patriots style: get something of value before the player loses all value.Doubtful that Moss would be back for the Pats anyways.
Do the Pats not consider themselves contenders? It's not like they need the picks. They're absolutely loaded next draft. I don't get it.
They aren't contenders.
Not many teams count themselves out after 4 weeks, unless you're an 0-4 team. No way this means the Pats are flying the white flag for this season. Teams just don't ship off their #1 WR 4 weeks in. Moss must really be pissed. I wonder if he really tanked it last night.

Have to agree with ya here. if the cat's out of the bag, it better be a sealed deal. Here's the Fox Sports bit on it: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Randy-M...-Vikings-100510

If it DOES go through, then we get to call alst week's 0-catch outing against the Fins his "bye-week", as if he had been signed a week early.

Come on, man.
No way they can compete with the Jets Ravens Pitt. They are a notch below and that defense is not taking them anywhere unless they get the special teams play they got last nightand everyone knows that isn't going to happen. They were getting out played by Miami last night minus some bonehead plays by a average QB in Henne. If they thought they were the team to beat or even one of them would they be talking trade of the most dangerous wr in the game? NO

As a Peterson AND Moss owner, all I can say is please please please please let this be true!!!

They would benefit one another greatly, IMO. Perfect fit real football-wise too, obviously.

And we are getting Mark Ingram next year :goodposting:

Source: Vikings, Moss haven't started talking terms, yet -Florio's tweet

Lets not jump the gun here..
:goodposting: And the truth is, Florio actually has real contacts in Minnesota. But noone should ever trust Florio.

If this happens this week Moss would play 17 games...no bye week.

I have Favre and Moss in about 10 leagues each.

I have Brady in 0 out of 26 leagues.

I have all 3 Moss jersey's so I can just dust off the old one as long as he goes back to # 84.

At 1st I thought this sucked...the more I think about it the more I like it actually.

I am torn but leaning toward the deal taking place as making me happy.

Hmmmm.

Think on this, I will.

Just heard the rumors and I'm pretty stunned.

Totally out of left field.

Haven't read this entire thread yet, but I assume the consensus is that this good for Moss, no?

Clearly Brady>Favre, and Minny is all about Peterson, but Moss will be getting the majority of targets. Favre loves chuckin' it deep.

I also agree with the sentiments posted above that Hernandez gets a nice boost if this happens.

Go trade for Hernandez now!
:goodposting: I think Hernandez gets a definite boost in value.
His keeper/dynasty value absolutely skyrockets!!!Jermicahel Finley Jr.
Can a player be both TE and WR eligible? They lined him up as a WR on several plays last night.
If he is lining-up on the line and down blocking on occasion - he keeps the TE designation as his sole designation.

Just a guess- that Vikings 3rd rounder and a Patriots pick are heading west. Vincent Jackson will be the big winner here.

Moss is not in the Pats future plans. Why would he be?
