Played in 3 big money leagues and won all 3. Used FBG in a small money league and went 3-11. More to follow.
so you "blocked out" the information you received from FBG in the other 3 leagues.....but used it in your 3-11 league....

you're awesome.......... :tebow:
According to this gem, he didn't use FBGs at all. Now he does, but of course only in his small money leagues that he sucked in because he just wanted to try it and compare it to his genius. Its all BS, also telling everyone to sit a bunch of teams incorrectly. Of course he had none of those players on his teams anyway when they played and played well (like the Eagles). Why post or care if you have none of those players? That's right, the Chachinator is a bunch of BS.

The Chachinator won 3 of 3 big money leagues this year. The Chachinator won 3 of 3 last year. The Chachinator did not use FBG at all.

The Chachinator was winning 1 of 3 (not bad) prior and using FBG.

The Chachinator >>>>> FBG pay service

I would say it is the opposite of streamlined advice... More of an abundance of info and opinions. Content may be more appealing to the veterans than the FF noobs. Heck I've been playing fantasy football for 15 years and I feel like a rookie sometimes but I love info overloads myself. Not everyone's cup of tea.
I just don't find this to be consistent. A veteran should have evaluation methods of their own. They don't need to pay a service for evaluation.

I call it the "Do I look fat in these pants" syndrome.

They don't "need" to but veterans know that more information, from people who's opinions you respect, is always useful. Nobody's evaluations are perfect (not even the Chachinator).

I've been playing FF for 25 years and have been doing my own projections longer than FBG has been in existence but I find it well worth the $30/year to subscribe. The thing about FBG is, with such a large staff the quality varies from among the best in the business (Dodds, Bloom, Waldman) to horrible (Wimer) with a lot of in between. You have to know who's opinions to trust and who's not to. Not that hard to weed through the clutter once you know that. There have been many times where my opinion of a certain player in a certain week has been swayed by something Dodds or Bloom wrote that I hadn't thought about. I have a lot of experience and mostly rely on my own analysis but they do this for a living, I don't.

I still don't understand the "do your own evaluation" crowd with no help from a website.

Well, I shouldn't say that - I do understand it if they really mean it. If they really do their own evaluations - evaluations that amount to watching every game, every week - and then after doing that they check each teams website/twitter/whatever to keep up on practice injuries/depth-chart-movement/etc, then more power to them. I'd friggin love to have that much time. I just don't, and I don't think many others do.

I think most of the people that say that they do their own evaluations are actually using some site, somewhere (free or not), which is fine as well. I guess all the same info here at FBG could be elsewhere for free. I really don't know.

I just like the way everything is laid out here. I don't use the rankings too much, instead using the game evaluations and player performance in practices and pre-season.

To each his own.

Kinda like how people always tell you to "follow your gut." Even Bloom says this. I don't know why. Your gut is probably wrong.

What are your "evaluation methods?"

None of us have that kind of time. I honestly doubt that even FBG's has that much time to provide the in depth analysis that each of us crave for an accurate quasi crystal ball. The best I've seen here is a consolidation of superior stat-crunchers who parse data to find some simple conclusions, and some gifted game watchers who tell what their eyes see. The weekly rankings are fairly trivial to the product you are purchasing. With over 350 or so positional players to keep track of and like you said, we don't have the time to dedicate to each player hype train. It boils down to using the forums, podcasts, and other free and pay websites for as much info you need to make a decision on what moves you need to make to improve your fantasy team. Anybody saying FBG's $30 subscription is a panacea for that is kidding you. Not even they are overselling themselves like that.
