Downgrade Forte? (1 Viewer)

Forte returned to practice today, but I'm not sure how much he was able to do:

Can we all agree now that initial reports of a high ankle sprain were almost certainly premature and erroneous?
Yes, and I wonder how many people made bad trades as a result of this misinformation.
As a Forte owner, I wouldn't have traded him unless someone blew me away with an offer.Which wasn't going to happen, especially if he misses four games, as originally speculated.

So, you're not going to get fair value in return.

And if you take an inferior player for him, then you lose the trade when Forte returns. And if you have playoff aspirations, that wouldn't be wise.

I had people telling me McGahee and LaFell would be a fair trade for Forte.

Um, no.

I almost did, but pulled back at the last minute. I still think there's a good chance he'll be a game time decision which would make it risky this week.

But as long as he's back fully next week I'll be real happy about this.

Yahoo had a report that Forte has been sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber and that Forte said he expects to be active Monday.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he did this last season, as well, before the Bears fell apart, vanished from the playoff race, and IRed him.

Forte only went through individual drills, but the practice was a short one because the team does not play again until Monday night at Dallas. Based on the extra day off and his current health, Forte thought he would be able to play in the next game."I went through all the routes and everything. I can sprint," he said. "So I'll be good to go."Coach Lovie Smith wasn't quite as optimistic, saying, "We have said he's making progress every day, which he is, and it's no more than that. But I would hold off on ... he's got a long ways to go still, but he is making progress and hopefully we can get him out there."

Forte eager to get back in action against Cowboys

Chicago Bears running back Michael Bush admitted he got hit in the shoulder during last Sunday’s 23-6 win over the St. Louis Rams but brushed it off as no big deal.

Bush didn’t identify which shoulder absorbed the hit. He practiced Wednesday and seemed prepared to do the same Thursday.

"I’m fine," Bush said. "I practiced all day yesterday. Nothing’s wrong. I’m good."

Bush was the first running back up with the first team Wednesday as Matt Forte was limited to just individual drills. Forte remains optimistic about playing against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night after sitting out the Rams game with a sprained right ankle.

If Forte is unable to go, Bush seems likely to get his second consecutive start. He rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown against the Rams. But Bush ran the ball just four times in the second half as the Bears turned to Kahlil Bell.

Bush expects Forte to be in the starting lineup against the Cowboys.

"I think Matt will be up this week," Bush said. "I’m still learning and making sure I’m ready in case he’s not."

Hopefully, by Sunday morning, we'll have a slightly clearer picture, though it's still incredibly risky to roll with him unless you can roll with a Bush/Ogletree in the flex.

The real question this week: Bush or Forte if Forte plays? In non-PPR, I think Bush is a little safer. But in PPR, it's a very difficult question.

Please just rest this guy until after the bye. It's obvious they rushed him back and he wasn't 100%.
You guys are hilarious.Like you know better than the coaches and Forte himself whether he should be playing or not.Don't give up your day jobs.

I meant to say his ankle didn't seem to slow him down or physically limit him in any way.

Good point. This board isn't for questioning coaching decisions.

Glad I handcuffed him with Bush via trade a couple of weeks ago.

So his same ankle from earlier this season, his not high ankle sprain, was re-injured?
