Drafting with guppies - Part 2 (1 Viewer)

Besides Borilla's Gorillas, Da Bearssss would have beaten only three other teams this week.

Da Bearssss was able to win despite putting up the smallest point total of any winning team in the league this week.

Da Bearssss would be 80-88 if they played every team every week.
:lmao:

and he is still talking trash about...its awesome.

I just looked also. Horrible draft, agree. Indisputable how bad that draft was.

Must have had a couple good waiver pickups??? Who knows.

I just know any league I play in I am finishing well out of playoff contention with that draft.

I guess one of the unfortunate inevitablities of all fantasy leagues is that there is always a winner. Always a "champion".

Some leagues are so bad that maybe something else should be done instead of crowning a champion. Maybe all the money gets put back into the pool, and you guys can try again in 2014.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen a team win a championship with a sub-.500 all-play record. Rather incredible luck really.

Lesson to be learned here is to not give up no matter how bad your draft is. Based on your starting lineup looks like you were able to scoop up Foles, Stacy and Julius on the waivers...all great moves. Draft grade - D, In season management - A+...nice work despite your weak draft.

Going to the finals beotches....keep hating! 6 teams made the playoffs - yes I sneaked in at 6th but my players finally started showing up.

My line up from the semi finals

Foles

Amendola

Jordy Nelson

Roddy White

Matt Forte

Stacy

Julius Thomas

KC D

Tucker

Next week I start Crabtree against Atlanta.

Bring on the hate!

PS: Niners fan missed the playoffs in 7th spot.

Just Win Baby!!!!!
Just a note here - the title of the thread is Drafting with guppies.

Stacy was drafted by Niners Fan.

I'm going to say the KC DST saved your season. You drafted them in the 17th round, after the Bucs DST in the 15th. And you were just lucky to get them. The tricky thing about drafting with guppies is anything could happen, it's like a roulette wheel. They randomly draft someone with no rhyme or reason, don't cut them all year, then in week 12 they become a star. You took quite a risk by waiting so long.

Forte was also a good pick which probably saved your season. But you got him in the 2nd round.

You didn't draft Julius, if you picked him up you must have had a poor first week and you were lucky, because it's surprising he wasn't drafted in 17 rounds (even in a guppy league) and he must have been the first player off the WW after week 1.

Amendola and White did nothing for about 14 weeks out of 16. Nelson did almost nothing after Rodgers went down, that's half a season. Just curious, how many total points did you get from your starting WRs? And what weeks did you actually pick up Foles and Stacy in?

Ok - I fully expect to get crap thrown my way for last year's thread/team. Funny thing is I still made the playoffs last year in that league and looking back, I had a pretty solid team with Brees; Morris; Forte; Demaryus Thomas; Jordy Nelson; Gates etc....I understand all of you had a blast poking fun at me for it.

So let's have some more fun

I just got done with the draft in that same league for this year....as always, which was my point BTW in last year's thread, picks were coming in from left field making decisions more difficult than normal because you hope the value you do pick up works out for you but your head is spinning when the Niners fan (that same lady from last year) goes and picks Collin Kapernick with the 1.03 pick....not lying it happened. Jamaal Charles fell all the way to 1.09....was so hoping he would fall to me. One player drafted both Percy Harvin and Dennis Pitta (not lying again)....

Anyways, here is what I landed up with this year, having got the 1.11 pick in the draft. . Please note we start 1 QB (6 pts passing TDs); 2 WRs; 2 RBs; 1 WR/RB; 1 TE; DEF/ST; K and have 17 total roster spots. Not sure if this is possible for you to view but here is the link to the draft results

Unbelievable but Gronk fell to the 5th (5.11) round to me....could not resist it anymore. I had my fingers and toes crossed with 5 picks to go to me ... luckily the guy 2 spots before me is a Cowboys fan so he picked Witten and the guy before me picked Antonio Brown but he did say later he was very close to picking Gronk and definitely would have on the way back in the 6th round. Yes, this is the craziness that ensues in the drafts with guppies.

My team:

QB: Vick (10); Cutler (11); Freeman (12)

RB: Trent Richardson (1); Forte (2); Daryl Richardson (7); Mike Bush (13)

WR: Roddy White (3); Amendola (4); Jordy Nelson (6); Miles Austin (8); Chris Givens (9)

TE: Gronk (5); Brandon Myers (14)

K: Greg Zuerlien (16)

D: Bucs (15); Chiefs (17)

Yahoo gave me a A- for the draft.,...

Have at it....let the fun begin!!!

================

Just to give you guys some context on how bad some team members are, here are 2 teams (one of them is the Niner fan lady from last year):

Niner Fan:

Qb: Kap (1); Luck (7)

RB: Gore (2); Mendy (5); Jacquizz Rodgers (11); Fred Jackson (12); Zac Stacy (15); Bilal Powell (17)

WR: Demaryus Thomas (3); Golden Tate (6); Hilton (8); Sidney Rice (10); Dobson (13)

TE: Vernon Davis (4); Celek (16)

D: Pats (9)

K; Tucker (14)

CutlerTrestman:

Qb: Rodgers (2); Romo (6)

Rb: Doug Martin (1.4); Lamar Miller (4); Ben tate (8);Dwyer (11); Woodhead (12); Leshoure (14); Moreno (17)

WR: Cobb (3); Decker (5); Jeffrey (10); Blackmon (13); Sanu (16)

TE: Ed Dickson (9);

D: San Fran (7)

K: Gould (15)
You must be one of the worst drafters I've seen, for your sake give up.

See you next year.

yep. In a game/hobby/whatever where is a luck significant factor, a part of being a good player is giving yourself a chance to win by luck. The draft is often the most exciting part of a re-draft league, but waivers/trades/setting proper line-ups can help you grind into the playoffs where anything can (and this case0 did happen in your favor.

I'm not sure but i assume this league had no activity or competition on the waiver wire and he was able to get whomever he wanted. That's just a gut feeling on my part. If true, no skill there either.

Congrats to the OP. I've had my share of laughs with these threads the last two seasons but in the end I guess our friend really did get the last laugh. Well done.

dude came off real toolish in both these threads and deserved the spit he got, but hung in there and got it done. Especially after drafting that poorly there was a decent chance that he could picked the wrong dudes off WW just as easy.

Anyone else really hoping for version 3.0 next season?
It's like Star Wars, man. The first season, the good guys won. This season was the Empires redemption. This guys pride came in because he told the league he was their father. Next year the good guys win again. Even better, 49ers fan are the Ewoks and money is on the 49ers fan winning the league next year as the Ewoks slap the Empires butt on Endor. Note - draft 49ers next year.

Part of playing with guppies in a head to head league is the ability to get good waiver wire pickups all year despite a bad draft, which obviously happened, and sneak into the "playoffs". Drafted Richardson, picked up Stacy, picked up Foles, picked up Julius, etc. Change a variable like all-play or total point formats, or simply include owners who draft spot on and seriously pick-up every player every week, and this outcome doesn't happen. That draft would have been bottom feeder in any money league I played in this year, three 12-teams and a 10 team IDP. So congratulations for winning a league where owners can't draft worth a #### or manage their teams in-season. After all, money is money at the end of the day.

And even though you've been catching a lot of crap in the thread, it would be awesome to invite a league mate or two in here to take a beating, perhaps starting with the Peyton Manning owner.

p.s. Second the notion, would like to see 2014 draft results for this league.

you guys can tear this one apart, super flex 14 teamer...

Watch out. Somebody let Ryan's Team loose in the draft room. When the smoke cleared, all that was left was an elite squad capable of destroying opponents at will. They are projected to finish second in Off-Season Training League with a record of 10-3-0 (2,013 points). They wanted to shore up any RB concerns early, using three of their first five draft picks to draft RBs Jamaal Charles (first round), Giovani Bernard (third round), and Andre Ellington (fourth round). A lot will be expected of this group, as they are the most prolific group of RBs in the league.

LOL, for the 1st week I'm playing a guy who reach for Foles in round 2 and the for Alex Smith in round 4!!! While he was taking QBs I built up my RB core and will be throwing 4 pass catching RBs at him, boom. Genesis will 1 - 0 week 1 and yahoo projects me as the #2 team of the week.

#### talking in a 2 QB league with Geno Smith and Jonathan Dwyer in your starting lineup.

You are definitely a worthy potential heir to this thread.

ETA: And you trash-talked on your league site with "Your going down." Almost too perfect.

I don't think you understand how 2QB/Superflex leagues work. You are toast.
I'm 4-1 with not much help from FAs... I think I understand how it works.
