Drafting with guppies (1 Viewer)

What exactly are you complaining about? It just seems like whining as most of the things you list are fairly legit.

Also....I wouldn't have posted that team after saying I drafted with guppies. It's not good. You'll be on the outside looking in come Week 14.

ETA: I posted before reading the responses in the thread. When am I the one that takes it the easiest on someone? Gah.

Also, I've played in a league with Sweetness before. This is exactly the team I'd expect him to draft. And exactly the post I'd expect him to make.
Right now it does not look like I will be outside looking in....

QB: Brees (1.6)RB: Forte (2.7); Isaac Redman (6.7), Kevin Smith (8.7), Ryan Williams (9.6), Benson (13.6), Rashad Jennings (16.7) WR: Jordy Nelson (3.6), Demaryus Thomas (4.7), Kenny Britt (7.6), Amendola (10.7), Lance Moore (12.7)TE: Antonio Gates (5.6), Jacon Tamme (11.6)K: Gostowski (14.7)D: Cincy (15.6), Minnesota (17.6)
So why does your team suck so bad. Honestly, you have a ton of crappy players. No rb 2 and no wr 3? It's a very average team especially with others making such huge mistakes.
Amendola is the #6 WR right now....that is a stud WR3.

Check out my squad from my 12-teamer with a bunch of noobs:QB- Matt Cassel, Kellen ClemensRB- Jahvid Best (lol, can u believe he was DROPPED), Jon Dwyer, David Wilson (my sneaky sleeper!), Ben tateWR- Dwayne Bowe, Bo Derek, Beau Bridges, Jon Baldwin (upside anyone?)TE- Dennis Pitta (he's a top-14 TE that I was able to get in the 7th ROUND! Booyah)K- matchupsD- matchups
If you're open to trade offers, I'd give you Bo Jackson and Bocephus for Derek and Bridges.

BTW the original reason for this thread was as follows (reproducing from the original post)....it was to get a discussion going on what to do when drafts go crazy and you have no idea who is going to be drafted where:
You draft the best player available when it's your turn. That was hard.

Sounds like you should be used to that by now.

You want a good headache....get into a guppies league and I guarantee you will not know what to do when it is your turn to draft. Tonight I had my draft with a league that I am in for many years now. It is friends from work and we have a great time....but the value that falls in these drafts and the mistakes that are made are hilarious. Here are some salient features of this draft which will help you get ready for such a draft:
Uh, no. Speak for yourself. YOU don't know what to do. I for sure wouldn't have drafted Redman/Smith/Jennings as my RB2 at the time...wtf were you doing there? You drafted Benson when he didn't even have a team yet? I also wouldn't have drafted Forte so early with Bush there now...he's a touchdown vulture. I would have taken Forte in the 3rd or 4th round if I still needed an RB2 and other options didn't fall down the board. This team was ugly to begin with yet you touted it as a great team that was made against guppies. Now you turn around and say your team wasn't that good and you weren't expected to succeed, but now you're over-achieving cause of your "great" pickup, Alfred Morris. You've failed to show how much you've scored weekly and against the teams you've been scoring against and their PFs and your PA. Your 3-1 record doesn't mean anything without more context. Plus, it's only 4 weeks into the season, calm your nuts. Then you go and say that your team only looked bad from the beginning because you drafted against guppies, who didn't know what they were doing, which caused you to not know what you were doing...WHAT? Dumbest excuse I've ever heard. You sir, are a guppy.

And I am guaranteed to go 4-1 this week because I play that awful team that drafted the Niners D and all Niners players .... her team is as follows for my match up (and I was told earlier in this thread....bored to go find it now....that I had no chance against that team either)....and this team is 1-3 .... while so many shark told me she had a better team than me ....
:lmao: :lmao:

- If mama's 49er faithful played Da Bearssss every week, they would be 3-2 this season. - Had they played each other last week, mama's 49er faithful would have defeated Da Bearssss 137.66 - 135.54. - Besides mama's 49er faithful, Da Bearssss would have been defeated by five other teams this week. - Da Bearssss would be 1-3 if they played the same schedule as mama's 49er faithful. - Da Bearssss would be 25-30 if they played every team every week.

So who are you starting at RB this week?

Morris and Alex Green
Yikes. Not horrible I guess. But that was due to you playing the waivers well, not your draft. Your record probably reflects some good pickups you had (such as morris), but the team you DRAFTED that you bragged about is not good, and you looked dumb for bragging about it. Obviously with all these responses, you accomplished your mission, but let's leave this thread alone and agree that the team you drafted was not worth the thread you so condescendingly created.

I would have thought with you being a draft shark amongst guppies you would be starting guys you drafted? When the shark drafts 2 of his first 3 RB's who lose their starting gig by week #5 I can't imagine what the guppies' rosters must look like. What are you going to spend the championship money on?

Works both ways. Gates and Forte have underachieved until this point....hopefully they give me better production for rest of the year. I am expecting Jordy, Forte and Gates to pick it up soon. And my wild card Britt! :)

seeing this thread for the first time and looking at the roster i knew what was coming next.

this team is a mess.

 Yahoo has post-game stories? That's pretty cool.
As a commish of a league, I got to say that really is cool. I spend the time right now creating my own recap, but this could save a me a lot of time.
FYI - My Fantasy Leagues does preview and recap stories.
Yes Myfantasyleague.com does have previews and recaps, but they are complete laughable garbage, especially compared to Yahoo's recaps.

With that said, I'm in 2 Yahoo leagues this year and this is the first I've seen of the recaps.

This is my favorite part. Looking past the fact he has gone from guppy who can't lose to scrappy team pulling wins out with WW darlings, the guy complains when his players have down weeks. You don't think other people have similar situations with players under performing. What do you think the Darren McFadden owner or Greg Jennings owner etc feel? You aren't the only one who has players struggling or has players overachieving. Perhaps the shark play would be not drafting Gates or Forte. But don't worry just wait til Cam, Greg, CJ, and Garcon turn it around, then I'll be go the rest of the season undefeated.

As a guy who pays 150 for sportsline, that yahoo recap is worth more than everything cbs has given us in 7 years of use.

4-2....2nd place. Kenny Britt and Gates back to stud like production. Forte should get back on track.....how come no one posted a link after this week?

first time seeing this lol, im in a 10 team league mostly co-workers where half are regular players, and there is one first timer, he choose Cam Newton with the #1 pick lol. I smashed the WW so far and have been able to make some good trades- 10 team league start QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,WR,TE,FLEX, K, D

My team

Rodgers,Fitz

McFadden,Matthews,Lynch,Murray,D.Brown

Jordy,Nicks,Harvin,S.Johnson,M.Williams

Hernadez,Bennett

Legatron

AZ,MINN

started super weak but now players showing up, overall only 4-2 but like my chances :)

Also in this draft Ryan Grant and Chad Johnson were both drafted lol, the niners D went in the 4th, and that person went on to pick his K in round 5. He is a huge OK State homer and picked Blackmon in like the 8th, oh and hes 4-2 as well lol..

Look at post #174 where I posted your first 5 weeks results. Please notice that over 3 days ago I updated it to include the week 6 results as soon as they were final. Nice awareness.

It's more likely a case of no one caring. You were a fun diversion for them for a short time, and now they've moved on to the newer, more fun thread. In other words, no one really gives a #### about your make believe team.
