Draftkings Core 4 (1 Viewer)

Week 6 Core 4 picks. They started with Dak at QB but after having spending low amounts at some of the other positions, they later upgraded QB to Lamar:

QB: Lamar Jackson
RB: Bucky Irvin
WR: Tank Dell
TE: Jake Ferguson
They actually put together a good 4 this week. I can get behind all of them. A little hesitant on Tank Dell, but I will be all over the other three for sure. Maybe sprinkle a little Hurts in instead of Lamar in some spots.

Irving seems like he's going to be the chalkiest of chalk this week. I have him in some lineups because the price is very good for a guy who should get 15+ touches. On the other hand, I like Tucker as a dark horse to have a big game as well. I threw him into a couple teams as a hail Mary.

Looking at DAL/DET, GB/ARI, and WAS/BAL as key games this week where the offenses may get into shootouts.

Firing a bunch of stuff on FD today. Main plays are...

QB - Dak, Murray, Love
RB - Barkley, Henry, Gibbs, Jacobs, Dobbins, Irving, Tucker
WR - Lamb, Reed, Flowers, Harrison, McLaurin, Cooper, Legette, McConkey, Pierce, Polk
TE - Ferguson, McBride
DEF - TB

Most common generic core lineup is Dak/Jacobs/Gibbs/Dobbins/McLaurin/Harrison/Cooper/Ferguson/TB.

Went with TB defense on almost every entry, so if they have a rough day, I'm probably boned. Just felt that the price was great vs. a rookie QB in his first start. Other options for me are PIT and LAC.

Sneaky plays for me this week are Tucker, Legette, and Polk. Feel like all have small breakout game potential. If Maye is better than Brissett (not hard), he could activate Hunter Henry and Ja'Lynn Polk for the rest of the season. Something to watch. From what I hear the WRs in NE have been getting open. Brissett just can't hit anyone.

Welp, I got as much wrong as I got right. It was fun to have Tucker go bananas on a few entries, but I never had the dream lineup around him.

Goose egg from MHJ put several of my teams in a bad spot right away and I got the full Dak Prescott experience in the afternoon games.

Swear Dak is the type to go for 150 and 2 picks any time you use him in FF, then go for 300 yards and 3 TDs if you ignore him.

Might be done with that joker moving forward. He's just not good, and Dallas has poor weapons outside of Lamb.

Sneaky plays for me this week are Tucker,

The guy who won the Milly Maker on DK this we started Tucker who was listed as 0% rostered, lol.

I never even considered him because I didn't really know about him, but he's the kind of guy I would play in all my lineups due to his price.

It was cool to get that one right...

...and very uncool to see $9200 Saquon going off for 6 points in my lineup next to him when I could've had Henry for $9100.

I'm stating the obvious and repeating myself, but to win one of the decent sized contests, it's not enough to get 1-2 things right.

You need to get almost everything right. Unfortunately I mostly wasted my one-off Tucker miracle (had a few small cashes).

Anyone have any good picks this week? I'm finding I suck at this.
Unfortunately, it is getting real tough for the "normal player" like us to win anymore. I won very well in weeks 1-3 like I usually do and got way ahead in $$$. Since then, as the sharks with all of their randomizers take over the profit $$$ start to dwindle. This is the time of year I start moving to props and lines.

Week 7 Core 4 picks. They went down a path that allows you to pay up for a player like Jefferson, Saquon, or Kyren Williams

QB - Daniels
RB - Pollard
WR - London
TE - Harrison Bryant (if you can’t stomach putting him in, they suggested Njoku)

Best chance is in single entry tourneys. Can’t win in 150-max entry tourneys with your one entry vs 150.

Echoing that, I'm playing almost exclusively single entry stuff this week. I'm also incorporating some outside data for the first time instead of picking solely based on who I like. The data that I'm using likes Kirk Cousins, Kyren Williams, Tony Pollard, Chase Brown, Drake London, Jerry Jeudy, Brock Bowers, and David Njoku at their prices this week (note that I play on FanDuel). Overall my ownership is based around these players this week:

QB - Purdy, Geno, Darnold, Cousins
RB - Barkley, K Williams, Hubbard, Jacobs, Pollard, Chase Brown
WR - London, Adams, Aiyuk, Addison, Smith-Njigba, Pickens
TE - Kittle, Bowers, Pitts, Njoku
DEF - IND, LAR

Have a few minor shares of Dalton, Mixon, Bijan, Walker, Metcalf, Dell, Jeudy, and some others for variety.

Generally going medium at QB-RB-TE, and cheap everywhere else. Feels like a good week to go cheap at WR. Key players for me this week are Chase Brown, Jordan Addison, and George Pickens. Leaned on them in most entries. Have many shares of that $7000-7400 RB cluster of Pollard, Jacobs, and Hubbard. Just feels like a good opportunity to get a high workload at a medium price.

The Chase Brown thing is based on what looks like a favorable game script against a flagging CLE team. You'd think Cincinnati will go up early and keep running up the score. Brown can be involved running and catching, and may be passing Moss outright on the depth chart. With a RB23 price in this Sunday 10AM-5PM slate, the value seemed very strong.

Pickens is cheap for a WR1 and I like Addison's chances to benefit in a likely shootout between Detroit and Min. Is Russ a plus for Pickens or more beneficial to someone like Harris or Freiermuth? Not sure, but Pickens is always a threat to catch a bomb and gets healthy targets usually.

Some wild cards to watch this week are returning stars like Chubb and Adams. I avoided Nick, but grabbed a few shares of Davante. I suspect he might be very chalky this week. We'll see when the games start. Expecting to see a lot of Jeudy and Njoku based on pre-Cooper prices and post-Cooper expectations.

Finally a big winning week. Cashed a bunch of stuff and will get back 3.5x my entry fees. Back to even for the season.

RBs were paying out left and right while most of the WR plays across the league fizzled out. I was lucky to land on the best WR play of the week (Pickens), who carried several of my rosters in conjunction with good TE and DEF picks.

Chase Brown wasn't great, but he did enough to not tank all my entries.

Week 8

QB - Hurts
RB - Hunt
WR - McMillan DJ Moore
TE - Kincaid

Sunday edit: he did a late change from McMillan to Moore

Bombing a bunch of single-entry comps on FD and a few low multi-entry (3x-20x). Once again I'm building around a relatively thin group of players:

QB - Geno, Caleb, Lawrence
RB - Hall, Walker, Jacobs, Dobbins, Swift, J Williams
WR - AJ Brown, Hill, DJ Moore, Thomas, JSN, Lockett, Waddle
TE - Njoku, Otton
DEF - DET, LAC

Have a few pieces of Burrow, Rodgers, Cousins, Tua, Achane, C Brown, Chase, Lamb, London, Adams, Shakir, McBride, Pitts, Kmet, H Henry, Fant, BAL, KC. Mixed a lot at QB because I don't have one strong preferred play, but there are lots of decent mid-level options.

Big chalk plays this week look to be TB passing game because of the injuries and MIA because of the Tua activation. Expecting a lot of Otton, Tyreek, Waddle, Tua, and Achane this week. Lots of good RB plays this week, so plenty of options there. Same with TE. I didn't feel like you had to pay for a top name this week. I'm mixing in a few expensive WRs in many of my teams (Brown, Chase, Lamb). Going big on DET DEF.

Got a lot right this week, but boy did Caleb and Geno poop their pants. Killed many of my entries.

Riding the Lawrence/Jacobs/Swift/Otton/DET express to some cashes, but will likely eat a small loss this week when it's all said and done.

I knew Achane had big game potential at $6800, but the $6k price of Javonte was too appealing for those flex and RB2 spots, and unfortunately he did not deliver. Have a little bit of Lamb and Dak tonight, but not enough to change much materially.

Wish I had gone with more pieces of Shakir ($5800) instead of Waddle ($5900). :frown:

I couldn’t listen until this morning.

Week 9

QB: Stafford (be willing to pivot if Puka is OUT)
RB: Chase Brown
WR: Pittman Jr (SNF - so FanDuel only)
TE: McBride Taysom Hill

He did a late change of McBride to Taysom Hill which, to me, is meh.

I mixed a lot this week without any major core plays. Most common picks were...

QB - Cousins, Darnold, Tua, Caleb, Jameis, Flacco
RB - Kamara, Walker, Cook, Achane, A Jones, Swift, Dobbins, Chase Brown
WR - London, Smith-Njigba, Lockett, Waddle, Shakir, Tillman, Jeudy, Pittman
TE - Bowers, McBride, Pitts, Ertz
DEF - NO, CIN, WAS, ATL

Mixed in some elite options like Barkley, Henry, Jefferson, and AJ Brown where budget permitted.

Longshot plays I like are Alec Pierce and Elijah Moore due to the QB changes.

Week 10 - some paydown options so you can afford a top player or two. He went chalk at TE because he’s tired of losing at that position. Also mentioned a lot of mid-tier RB’s are overvalued since so many good RB’s aren’t on the main slate this week. Anyway:

QB - Darnold Rodgers
RB - Conner
WR - Tank Dell (regardless of whether Nico plays or not, actually likes him more if Nico plays)
TE - Otton

He made a late change of Darnold to Rodgers to free up some money

Last week was a solid loser for me. Ate too many horrible games from Pittman, Pitts, and Waddle.

This week tightening the slate and just riding with a few key picks:

QB - Rodgers, Herbert
RB - Conner, Swift, Dobbins, Ekeler
WR - Wilson, Adams, Shakir, Hopkins, QJ
TE - Otton, Henry
DEF - LAC, DET, NE

A few random pieces of others, but these are the plays that will make or break me.

Last week sucked with him somehow picking the worst QB of the week, then doing a late replacement with probably the second worst QB of the week. Stroud missing a wide open Dell in the endzone didn’t help either. Anyway, on to Week 11:

QB - J. Allen
RB - J. Jacobs
WR - G. Pickens
TE - Davis Allen (over Knox and Engram, if you don’t have the stomach for Allen)

Rodgers killed me last week. My Herbert teams did well, but most of my big $$ entries had some Jets. :x

Keeping it small this week. Lots of pieces of Taylor, Jacobs, Pickens, Meyers, and Pitts.

For the afternoon games, I'm rolling with Metcalf in a couple lineups now that he's back. He always has big play potential and Geno forces the ball to him.

Week 12

QB: Stafford (SNF - so FanDuel only. Others they liked were Kyler or Baker)
RB: Hunt
WR: Nico Coliins
TE: Schoonmaker (over McBride)

The good news is that I'm going to cash all my entries this week.

The bad news is that my total entries were $0.25 + $0.25 + $0.25 (free voucher) + $0 (freeroll).

I went big on the Jets a few weeks ago and got mostly wiped out.

Back from the dead though!

Key plays this week were Stafford, Bucky, Stevenson, Walker :x , Bijan, McConkey, Thielen, Andrews, and NE def.

My "always bet against Anthony Richardson" strategy didn't quite bear fruit, though NE def gave me a cheap 4 points (FanDuel).

They had a problem this week with the Friday OnDemand shows on SiriusXM and the show won’t be available until Monday , so Jeff Mans recorded a separate video on X recapping his Core 4 for the week:

QB: Josh Allen
RB: Isaac Guerendo
WR: Jakobi Meyers
TE: Will Dissly

I am having the worst DFS year ever.

O'COnnell, Barkley, Kamara, and Meyers were my key plays this week - all underperformed expectations.

I was lucky to get a bunch of pieces of Allen, Charbs, Guerendo, Shakir, Thielen, Addison, Kittle, and Raider D.

Got a lucky OT miracle from Jonnu Smith to salvage some donuts.

Profitable week, but negligible $$$ amounts. Haven't reloaded my account since blowing most of it up a few weeks ago, so just playing with peanuts.

DFS is a lot of luck. I really just try to look at the $/expectations ratio and find the value. This week I was lucky in that my guys showed up.

tough week last week barely scraped by even with Allen, Guerendo and Charbonnet - because everybody on FanDuel had them of course. With the money saved at RB I paid up at WR and chose….. AJ Brown. Woof.

Week 15:

QB - Allen (they were close between Allen and Lamar. Chose Allen because worried it might just be a King Henry day against the Giants)
RB - Charbonnet
WR - Ridley
TE - Jake Ferguson

Solid losing week for me. Rolled with Tua/Waddle and Tua/Reek for my two biggest entry fees. That put me in a bad spot right away.

Went with CAR DEF on most of my entries. Very modest yield against Dallas in what I thought would be a more favorable game.

Had Amari Cooper in a few lineups. Goose egg. Really thought he'd be more involved in the shootout vs. Detroit after some decent target volume lately.

Got a little bit back on my smaller entries because of Baker, Goff, Chase Brown, Conner, AJ Brown, and Broncos DEF.

Didn't get everything right on any given entry though, so small wins only.

I went heavy Dolphin stacks and also heavy on A cooper. I though for sure this was gonna be his big breakout day.

I had a few Rodgers/Adams stacks but ended up talking myself out of them.

Thanks to hours of in-depth research and my impressive knowledge of football, I had a great week. Actually it was me getting tired of trying to fit in a lineup and saying “I give up, I’ll just stick with Davante Adams and Romeo Doubs”. It’s always better to be lucky than good.
