Dropping Brees for ______ ? (1 Viewer)

I just can't deal with the headaches that Brees has given me this entire season. Let someone else have him. Anyone else given up on him? I am scheduled on the waivers to get Warner and drop Brees. I have Roethlisberger as my backup.

A bit of a :goodposting: , but I am probably going to do the same thing with Bulger (pick up Warner) with Roethlisberger as my other QB.

I wouldn't exactly call Roethlisberger the backup in either of these situations. He has put up respectable numbers, many times without Ward and/or Holmes.

I dropped Brees for Warner yesterday....he immediately got snapped up, but let him tick off someone else for awhile.....

How would you rank these guys from here on out:? Warner, Brees, Schaub, D. Anderson, Cutler

I just traded for Brees last week in the hopes he turns things around. I think all 5 of these guys have some good games. Will Warner go off or have a setback of some kind? Brees can't get any worse and almost had 2 TDs last week. Schaub has been a steady performer and will be even better when AJ is back. Anderson has been very nice, but threw some costly picks. Will he keep up the solid production? I think Cutler is the worst of this bunch. THe offense is stagnant. Henry's a distraction. Walker has been out.

To co-hijack, I may also drop Bulger for Warner this week. Though I have Kitna, so it's more of a bye-week-only issue for me.

Yes, your stupid. Harrison will get better

I would have taken Harrison for Brees, personally. If I were the other person I would not have offered it in the first place, and I would not take Campbell for him either. When he gets healthy he will be fine.

I went against the grain on this one. I had picked up Warner last week. Brees was dropped this week and I dropped Warner to pick up Brees.

Everyone is really high on Warner but he's an interception machine. I'd rather hold onto Brees or Bulger and keep my fingers crossed than roll with Warner.

Thing is, our league doesn't penalize for INT's...however, I think Warner has a better surrounding (Edge, Fitz, etc) and a better schedule. Nonetheless, Brees also has a nice schedule, but just hasn't proven himself.

What happened?! I mean, he was a passing machine even in this pre-season!

My biggest concern with Brees was having him laying eggs. He scored 3 points in my league week 1, sorta bounced back in week 2 with an average 13, and then followed it up with another 3 pointer. After his bye-when he was suppost to make his comeback vs CAR-he totaled 8 points. This scoring is using -1 Int's too so if you have -2 Int's he probably finished negative in week 1/3. He cost me a loss in week 1 and almost cost me in week 3. I happily offloaded him before he went on bye. I'm glad to have offloaded Brees before his value plummeted even further, but I would not be dumping him on waivers. Sure let somebody else deal with this headache, but let's not drop him like he's Reggie Brown. Expect NO to be playing from behind often and passing the ball a bunch. Drew should have his share of nice games with a bunch of average stuff in between. Your best bet is to find another servicable option at QB, pray Brees gets hot, and offload him at his peak value.

I try to start fantasy players whom are consitent with the occasional blowup and rarely lay eggs. If your WR/TE is laying eggs I can deal, but not QB's. Somebody has to get the ball to WR/TE's, but QB's touch the ball every play. I'll start David Garrard any day over Brees...Garrard has scored 15/15/12/bye/11 so far in my league (for comparison Romo is 36/17/18/33/11). Sure it's not the best stats ever, but they are dependable points and he's not laying any eggs.

*ACF Warning*: For those that are curious I moved Brees (my 2:12 pick) + B. Marshall (my 11:12 pick) for McNabb (3:2 pick), got lucky and picked Selvin Young on the WW, and now have a pending trade for McNabb+Young for Peyton (1:12 pick). :shrug:/*ACF Warning*

Based on Brees' last game, it is clear he is turning things around. He had 2 TDs called back and did fairly well passing the ball given the sickening amount of pressure placed on him. As stated on ESPN radio today, every down is like a chinese fire drill. He may be making some poor choices but that is more indicative of the situation rather than his acumen as a QB.

That is EXACTLY what I did.

F that guy. 5 games is ENOUGH for me this year. I don't give a "S" what he does from here out.

I can guarantee this though. I will laugh my ### off everytime he starts for another team! :excited:

Instead of outright dropping Brees couldn't you offer him up to a team hurting for a QB for a draft pick next year? Then you'd have an open spot and still be able to get Warner if you're in the right place waiver-wire wise.

I just traded for Brees. I agree with EdwardCat above. Brees did have a bounce back game last week, but he had a TD called back on penalty and another overruled that the WR was down at the 1 yrd line. He passed the ball 47(!) times. When a QB with even a modicum of talent passes as much as he will, he will have big games.

Proceed at your own risk.

Brees was just dropped for Cutler in a 12 team redraft. Before the season started, who would have thought Bulger and Brees would be dropped?
