Olbermann Slams ‘Supposed News Website’ HuffPost for Hiring 9/11 Truther
This week The Huffington Post brought on ex-NFL wide receiver
Donte Stallworth as a national security fellow. There’s just one problem: he very publicly made it clear on his Twitter account
just years ago that he’s a 9/11 truther. Stallworth says he no longer believes that, but last night on ESPN, that did not stop
Keith Olbermann from ripping HuffPost a new one.
Olbermann focused on NFL receivers taking some interesting part-time jobs, and eventually got to Stallworth. He was rather taken aback at Stallworth being given that “fellow” title, saying, “I don’t know why they’re using an academia think tank term at The Huffington Post. Still, it is more honest than calling people at The Huffington Post journalists.”
Olbermann was amazed that HuffPost was drawn to Stallworth, in part, because of his LGBT comments, but not because of his 9/11 lunacy. Olbermann summed up just how ridiculous the whole thing is:
“So your supposed news website just hired to cover national security a still-theoretically active NFL player with no journalism experience, who’s a 9/11 truther, supposedly reformed about being a 9/11 truther but lying about when he reformed, and oh, by the way,
pleaded guilty to killing a man with a car during a DUI five years ago.”
