...I understand why you say, " If you compare college tape you take Greene every time". IMO that is only if you look at running ability between the tackle....Leshoure is better outside and the passing game..and I don't think the difference inside, is much. In the right situation (NE, GB, Wash, etc) he very well could outscore Greene in FF....especially in PPR.Personally, I don't think that comparison is that good. Greene is a smaller guy with less speed, kind of like a bowling ball who just grinds out yards. Leshoure is taller, faster, has sharper cuts, a capable 3rd down back, and is generally more of a home run hitter. I wouldn't trade Greene for Leshoure and the 1.5. I think ML runs stiff. Are you comparing how he runs in college to how Greene runs in the pros? If you compare college tape you take Greene every time.I still hope to draft Leshoure in the 1st but like the tree huggers I go Greene.
ON the PPR I can I agree with you but it comes down to th fact that after watching him play I think he is a backup in the NFL who may never be the guy. I think Greene will be the guy in the NFL. So I take a guy that I think is going to be a good starter and FF over a guy that I do not think will be a starter in the NFL even if he can catch the ball.I understand why you say, " If you compare college tape you take Greene every time". He would probably be my #2 RB if he declares and tests out reasonably well at the combine. He is a lot like Ray Rice. Jacquizz Rodgers has some similar qualities, but Lewis brings more thump.Dion Lewis is rumored to be coming out and in his last two games, including today, he has looked more like his 2009 form....![]()
Agreed, not sure if I'd put him ahead of Williams (if he declares) but it would be close. I'm surprised he's coming out, I didn't see this one coming. If Williams declares all of a sudden this draft doesn't look quite as bleak to me for RBs -- Ingram, Williams, Lewis, Leshoure. He would probably be my #2 RB if he declares and tests out reasonably well at the combine. .http://www.cardiachill.com/2011/1/8/192254...o-the-nfl-draftAs I reported tonight, multiple sources have told me that sophomore tailback Dion Lewis is expected to declare himself eligible for the NFL draft as soon as the season is over - meaning sometime next week. Lewis, with the help of Dave Wannstedt, looked into his draft status and was told by the NFL he'd be about a third round pick and that, along with the fact that Wannstedt (and his power running offense) are gone apparently have convinced him that the time is right

Completely agree. I hope this is true. I've just started taking a look at the prospects, and other than Ingram, the only back I'm even luke warm about is Thomas. Lewis would certainly become my #2 if he declares.ETA: Add Ryan Williams to the luke warm category. Although, I suspect that the hype train will result in Williams being drafted earlier than I'm comfortable with.DansRams said:Leshoure can and will be a starter in the NFL.RustyFA2 said:ON the PPR I can I agree with you but it comes down to th fact that after watching him play I think he is a backup in the NFL who may never be the guy. Although I agree that Leshoure is kind of stiff; his combination of size, quickness, and lateral agility more than makes up for it. I have little doubt that Leshoure will be a starter in the NFL.Source: News ClipI wonder how much Michael Floyd's decision hinges on what Blackmon ultimately decides as all signs seem to be pointing to Floyd returning to ND, too, at this point. Hopefully somebody can talk some sense into these WR's in the next week!Champaign-- It sounds like Mikel Leshoure has played his last game in an Illini uniform.
I'm told the junior running back met with head coach Ron Zook today.
In that meeting Leshoure told his coach that he is *leaning* towards skipping his senior season and entering the draft.
But I'm also told... No official decision has been made. Leshoure Leaning towards NFL. Tells Coach

I traded my first rounder this year, so I am hoping more choose to stay!I read somewhere that Floyd was given a 3rd round grade? That is ridiculous, IMO. But if that is the case, I absolutely think he can improve his stock coming back. Floyd was my # 2 behind AJ Green.Source: News ClipI wonder how much Michael Floyd's decision hinges on what Blackmon ultimately decides as all signs seem to be pointing to Floyd returning to ND, too, at this point. He will be a very good pro. The kid is 6'5 230+. If he runs a 4.4 40 he is a 1st round pick. I have seen you post that he catches with his body...I'm not sure what you are watching. Look at this""Heck yeah I'm leaving. It can only get worse. They had me running a lot of deep routes [this year] and yards were hard to come by. I barely ran intermediate routes; it felt like they were purposely trying to disrupt my draft stock."

I was just referring to the one catch yesterday and wasn't basing my entire opinon of Baldwin on that statement. I do think he will have trouble with separation at the next level because he doesn't use his hands well at the line and he doesn't run great routes from what I read.Edited to add: He won't run a 4.4 40.He will be a very good pro. ....I may have to remind you of this
Nothwithstanding Baldwin's lackluster performance in the alphabet soup bowl the Panthers played in yesterday, the quote that JohnnyU posted above was sort of retracted by a later apologetic Baldwin.""Heck yeah I'm leaving. Yes, and I tried to not even bring that into the discussion, but you're right. He's a diva wannabee and has maturity issues.Hmm, Baldwin's off field problems are becoming more of an issue for me - guy's got some major maturity issues. In a draft deep with WR's like this one I won't be actively pursuing him unless he gets discounted by scouts between now and April.
The little I know about him makes me wonder how he'll do in the shuttle and agility drills more so than the 40.He will be a very good pro. The kid is 6'5 230+. VT RB Ryan Williams declares for the draft.
He has good size and athleicism. A lot of athletic TEs this year with Lance Kendricks and DJ Williams. Kyle Rudolph could still be the first TE selected.Edited to not imply that he's necessarily better than Kendricks or Williams. It's hard to judge these guys IMO. It seems the idea of a good TE these days is 6'4" - 6'6" 247-255?What do people think about Tennessee's Luke Stocker?
I have seen Rudolph play a few times and was not blown away. He seemed slow and limited athleticism. Did my eye miss something? He has good size and athleicism. Isn't Gronkowski of the same mold? Hernandez the more athletic TE and Gronk the more well rounded. The same may be true of Rudolph.I have seen Rudolph play a few times and was not blown away. I agree. Ingram is # 1 for me, and Dion Lewis is # 2.I'm very high on Dion Lewis like EBF. I watched him play in 2009 quite a few times and came away impressed each time. I think his time to go pro is now and he could go a lot higher than people think. It's the same story every year - a smaller, stocky back like him enters the draft, people downgrade him because of his size and he ends up being a steal for some team (see Rice, Ray). I'm not saying Lewis is on the same level talent-wise, but he has a chance to be a very capable back in the NFL. I'll be taking a good look at him in all of my rookie drafts.

Jan 15When is the deadline for declaring?
Wow that's quick. Is that normal or is it because of no CBA? Combine is in March, correct?Jan 15When is the deadline for declaring?

lol...you beat me by a minuteTweets are coming in that Jacquizz Rodgers is leaving Oregon State to declare for the NFL draft.Really like his game. Just not sure what kind of role he'll have in the NFL given his small stature. Weigh-ins will be important for him.
I don't see how weigh-ins affect him unless he checks in really light like 170 lbs, but that would be a major surprise. I think he needs to prove he can run in the low 4.4s or high 4.3s. He hasn't looked that fast to me.Tweets are coming in that Jacquizz Rodgers is leaving Oregon State to declare for the NFL draft.Really like his game. This seems to be implying that Rogers can weigh in at 197-198. I don't see that happening. If Skyler Green can be drafted in the 4th, then Quzz can. That said, I would't be surprised to watch him slip past that either.Jaquizz Rodgers will announce today he is coming out this year. This draft continues to get deeper at the RB position. At 5'7 191 (he doesn't look that big), Rodgers only needs to add 6-7 more pounds to his 5'7 frame to compare size wise to many recent productive NFL Rb's.
