Gotta think he's the #3 RB in the class behind Cook/Fournette.
Talent-wise, it would be tough to argue that.
It's all gonna come down to how far he falls due to the off field stuff.
Gotta think he's the #3 RB in the class behind Cook/Fournette.
He most likely will fall and that puts into play teams who already have established starting RBs simply because of his perceived value. He could be picked by a team like ARI and site behind David Johnson. Or LAR and sit behind Gurley. A few of these RBs coming out are going to drop in FF value when they end up in that position. There just isn't enough open positions to fill without it being a RBBC.Talent-wise, it would be tough to argue that.

We shall see about this!Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report spoke to various NFL sources who said no team will select Mixon. Neither ESPN.com's Todd McShay nor CBSSports.com lists him in their draft rankings.
"He's undraftable now. There is no team that can use a pick on him [in this draft]," a team official told Bleacher Report's Matt Miller.
Frank Clark and Tyreek Hill probably would have something to say to those "sources."Sounds like he received a 1st round grade.

Agree based on talent as only criteria and compared to the two you referenced and even McCaffery he has had significantly less wear and tear. He is also 1-1.5 years younger than the two RB's you just referenced.ILUVBEER99 said:Gotta think he's the #3 RB in the class behind Cook/Fournette.
As I said before, Frank Clark and Tyreek Hill faced no discipline despite domestic violence incidents prior to being drafted.Agree based on talent as only criteria and compared to the two you referenced and even McCaffery he has had significantly less wear and tear. I own a ton of picks in the 5-9 range and I'm elated he's coming out, he is either viable option for me to take or he helps push someone else back to me. I won't care where he gets drafted, won't hold it against his prospects if he's like a 5th round pick or something.
One quick question however. I know NFL has thrown around suggestion that might involve suspending players for things they did before they entered the NFL or got drafted. Anyone know if this is still something they either are considering or could do right now if they wanted to do it?
Penn State junior WR Chris Godwin will forego his final season of collegiate eligibility to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
Godwin's final game in a Penn State uniform was a beautiful one, as he burned USC for 9-187-2 in the Rose Bowl on Monday. Over the past two seasons, the 6-foot-1, 208-pound Godwin has caught a combined 128 passes for 2,083 yards and 16 touchdowns. CBS Sports ranks the Penn State standout as their No. 14 receiving prospect in this draft class and sees him being drafted in the third or fourth round. Walter Football is slightly more conservative on his draft slot, seeing him more in the fifth- to seventh-round conversation.

South Florida junior RB Marlon Mack will forego his final season of collegiate eligibility to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
Looks like Mack will be one piece which new HC Charlie Strong won't have to play around with come the 2017 season. Mack has been one of the most statistically productive backs in the country during his three seasons with the Bulls. The 6-foot, 205-pounder rushed for 1,000 yards in each of those campaigns, posting 3,609 rushing yards (6.2 YPC) and 32 touchdowns for his career as a whole. Over the summer, NFL Media's Chad Reuter noted that Mack possesses "great open-field moves and the straight-line speed to take away angles down the sideline." CBS Sports ranks him as their No. 9 running back prospect in the potential 2017 pool and envisions a third- or fourth-round selection for the South Florida standout. You've heard it before and you'll hear it countless times before the draft itself -- this is as good of a running back class as we have seen in years.

A junior Texas Longhorns back who ran for over 2k this season, not getting an invite?D'Onta Foreman is rising up many boards. I'm seeing him ranked as the #3 rb in this class which is interesting. I hope he gets an invite to the combine.

I'll direct you to my post in the Mixon thread...I haven't seen Mixon play but with his story I doubt he'll even get drafted.

Just got off phone w/ Joe Mixon. Said he got a 1st round grade. Flew to Norman today to tell coaches his decision. More on ESPN to come
First round talent, maybe. He's box office poison.I'll direct you to my post in the Mixon thread...
As to the talent, Mixon got a 1st round grade from the Draft Advisory Council.
Did you even read the other post? Would you say Seattle and KC are having trouble selling tickets?First round talent, maybe. He's box office poison.

No, sorry that my understanding of your opinion isn't as important as you want it to be.So no, you didn't. Ok.
I can't debate willful ignorance. So I guess we're done here. Good day, sir.No, sorry that my understanding of your opinion isn't as important as you want to be.

I stumbled upon your post. You make a compelling argument.Did you even read the other post? Would you say Seattle and KC are having trouble selling tickets?
Not a bad one as far as dynasty. Some tough decisions.
If McDaniels is hired by SF, they wont make the Watson QB mistake.
Analyst's Tony Pauline reports that Baylor QB Seth Russell (ankle) will attend the Senior Bowl.
Pauline further reported that Russell's rehabilitation is ahead of schedule. Russell suffered a gruesome, season-ending ankle injury in November. He underwent surgery to repair the dislocated ankle shortly thereafter and has made short work of his rehab. While he's not physically able to play in the Senior Bowl, Russell will participate in weigh-ins and team interviews. Pauline reports that Russell hopes to throw at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 4. NFL scouts gave Russell a third-round grade heading into the year, according to Pauline.

Hard to project until they are drafted. Some guys currently projected to go high in FF drafts will become useless when crappy teams draft them. Others will move up when drafted by teams that will give them the opportunity to start.Acquired 1, 2, 6, 7 & 13
assuming i pick Cook and Fournette 1 & 2
my team is in need of WR, QB and TE.
the #3, #4 and #5 team need RB.
I am hoping I can get a decent selection of WR. Hopefully Davis or Williams falls to 6, which I doubt. Is JuJu close to them? John Ross, Sutton? Anyone I'm missing?
That's true albeit it an unlikely developmentHard to project until they are drafted. Some guys currently projected to go high in FF drafts will become useless when crappy teams draft them. Others will move up when drafted by teams that will give them the opportunity to start.
Imagine Cook drafted by Arizona as a compliment to David Johnson for instance.
I picked one of the 3 worst possibilities to emphasize that nothing is set in stone until at least after the draft. The other 2 being PIT and DAL.That's true albeit it an unlikely development
Whether Pitt is a bad landing place depends a lot on whether or not LeVeon is retained this offseason...I picked one of the 3 worst possibilities to emphasize that nothing is set in stone until at least after the draft. The other 2 being PIT and DAL.
Oh I get it. We need to see where everyone lands with that being really important. I also believe talent rises to the top.I picked one of the 3 worst possibilities to emphasize that nothing is set in stone until at least after the draft. The other 2 being PIT and DAL.
lol. Barring a televised smokathon with Willie Nelson, I'd bet the farm he'll be retained.Arodin said:Whether Pitt is a bad landing place depends a lot on whether or not LeVeon is retained this offseason...
See Todd Gurley and Hopkins. All the talent in the world can't overcome ineptness around that talent or horrible coaching.Gandalf said:Oh I get it. We need to see where everyone lands with that being really important. I also believe talent rises to the top.
Definitely. The can franchise tag him and with Bryant coming back and possibly drafting one of the stud TE's coming out, the offense will be ridiculous.lol. Barring a televised smokathon with Willie Nelson, I'd bet the farm he'll be retained.
For a year sure. Then they will fix it. Which is why Gurley and Hopkins are both great buy lows.See Todd Gurley and Hopkins. All the talent in the world can't overcome ineptness around that talent or horrible coaching.
Maybe. It's going to take a lot to fix the OL and get Goff going in STL before Gurley becomes a stud RB, by that time he may be worn down. OsWILDer just solidified his spot stinking it up and bring down Hopkins for another year at a minimum. Because their D is so good, they won't make a drastic move and get rid od OsWILDer. They will win enough that he sticks around. For a year sure. Then they will fix it. Which is why Gurley and Hopkins are both great buy lows.
L. Tomlinson was drafted by SD and they were garbage! How did that turn out for him?Maybe. He'll get drafted because he's enormously talented. It may cost him a round or two, but that off field stuff only really matters to the NFL if you are a borderline player, or washed up like Ray Rice was. If that Rice video came out four years earlier, Baltimore would have welcomed him back with open arms. Some teams will take him off their draft boards, but a player of his talent will absolutely get drafted. Talent always wins out.I haven't seen Mixon play but with his story I doubt he'll even get drafted.
