[Dynasty] 2019 NFL Draft Class (6 Viewers)

Washington State redshirt junior RB James Williams declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Williams has long been a favorite of ours -- and anyone who watches college football -- as one of the very best receiving tailbacks in the country. He caught 83 passes for four touchdowns, but he also scored 12 times as a rusher with 565 yards on the ground. He's extremely slippery -- he routinely ranked among the leaders week-to-week -- in forcing missed tackles, and the 6-foot, 205-pound tailback should have the size to be a three-down player. At the very least, he should be a solid third-down option, and the man they call Boobie should hear his name called at some point in the 2019 draft.

Holy #### those receiving numbers are insane for college.  To put it in perspective he had almost as many receptions this year as McCaffrey had in his entire college career.

That’s too perfect! Both a fantasy dream and fantasy nightmare rolled up into one.

I'd be more supportive of GB taking AJ Brown over Harmon. not a big harmon fan. Brown can fill the Cobb role better than Cobb.

But yes, too perfect. and only 2 QBs round 1. imo not going to happen. I suspect GB may trade their lower pick to a team looking to trade back in and grab a qb. possibly Oakland or Jacksonville if they pass earlier

Only once in the last 10-15 did we have a perfect draft like that. If the draft goes down like that how would you rank them?

I have picks 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.9 I’d include 2.2 as far as real stud/starter potential anything after the 2nd round is a crap shoot.

As someone who wants Montgomery and or Harris a draft like this would drive me nuts!

Tex

Oh and Haskins to the Giants! Oh my!

P.S

I know you stockpiled picks too as we’ve had several conversations over the year. I’ve started stockpiling picks for 2020 get’em before the hype starts.

This is tough, without seeing round 2, because that is where a lot of these RBs will go.

But with those wrs going to those teams I'd have to rank them: Metcalf, Harry, Harmon, Brown.

I have 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 1.8, 2.2, 3.7. Trying to move 1.5, 1.7, 1.8. I'd be fine keeping 1.5 and taking two RBs and 2 WRs. Noah Fant I might want to grab too, so if I only move 1 pick to 2020 I'll be satisfied.

2.2 I am hoping to grab a QB, even if it is too early (I need one badly). I would entertain trading down if the consensus is QBs wont go until much later, but I have someone I want for sure in this draft and I would be fine taking him 2.2 with all of those 1sts already getting position players.

Right now, most teams in my league are unreasonable with their offers for 2020. As the draft approaches I might get more buyers but for now I'm working on moving some of those picks.

Geeeeeeezzzzzzuuuuuussssss!!!!

WOW!!!

Yesh I’m higher on Metcalf and Harry than I am on the rest of the WRs. I plan to grab Fant as well (TE Premo) I’m currently trying to grab the 1.4 and or 1.5 pick.

Talent wise I want to grab (target) Fant, Montgomery, Harry and Metcalf. Again this is just strictly based on talent. There’s a few other players I really need to look at. Come April through July I narrow things down and only focus on my top 20-25 prospects. This has worked extremely well for me over the last 5 years. I’ve won more championship by focusing in a fewer prospects and I’ve found myself like other....I’m watching less college football games. I watch most of my games during the off-season when things begin to slow down.

I will be really interested to see what happens with the WRs leading up to the draft.  Right now they vary in mocks anywhere from top 10 to late 1st.

I think the value of top picks could increase pretty substantially as the hype continues to build on these guys.  I remember at this time two years ago Corey Davis was in a similar situation and the hype just built and built all offseason (despite him not participating in any offseason activities) and by the time May rolled around he had a rookie ADP of 1.01 in a draft that was considered one of the best RB drafts in recent memory.

I think Harry, Metcalf, AJB, and Harmon all have the potential to have that kind of rise throughout the offseason.  And if one of them has a nice combine or lands in a good spot, watch out.

Agreed, that’s why I’m sticking to talent based at this point. While I’ll stay away from Brown unless he’s still available with one of my late 2nd round picks. Those four that you mentioned along with Whiteside are all bunched together.

I’d love to grab at least two of these WRs.

Data from serval sources that carry weight (in my world) shows that there’s no correlation of successful WRs to Combine Numbers and NFL success so I tend to put zero weight on the combine when it comes to WRs now the NFL draft, that’s a different story but I get where you’re coming from and agree from that perspective.

Which WR gets completely neutralized and watches his career be destroyed when BALT picks them. Man, that would really suck.

Lord I will be staying away from them regardless of who they are. I stayed away from DJ Moore because the selfishness of Cam and I’m not a believer in Cam’s ability to make a WR relevant on a weekly basis. I could be wrong eventually but where he was being drafted was too much for my liking.

Same here. Loved DJ Moore and then crossed him right off my list when CAR drafted him.

UCF junior WR Dredrick Snelson declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Snelson (6'0/206) has two straight seasons with over 15.0 yards per catch, including this past season where he posted a 43-688-5 receiving line. A former four-star recruit and an ESPN Top 300 high school player, Snelson is expected to have a good showing at the NFL Combine. Bleacher Report's Ian Wharton gave Snelson a late Day 3 grade and even suggested that he should have stayed for his senior season.

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jackson (6'7/245) is skipping his senior season -- there were rumors of him transferring -- to compete with this weak 2019 quarterback class. A very raw player in a huge frame, Jackson will need time to develop at the next level, but he has a decent arm and is mobile enough outside of the pocket to cause some headaches for opposing defenses. As a redshirt junior, Jackson completed 55.3 percent of his passes, averaged a mediocre 7.7 yards per attempt, and tossed 28 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. For now, consider Jackson on the Day 2/3 borderline, especially since Jackson received a "you should return to college" evaluation from the NFL before he declared.

Irv Smith - TE -  Crimson Tide

ESPN's Todd McShay ranks Alabama junior TE Irv Smith as his No. 31 overall prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Smith (6'4/142) has "a lot of speed and athleticism for a big tight end." In this year's breakout campaign, Smith is averaging 12.0 yards per target and has scored seven touchdowns on just 54 looks. Smith will get one more shot at improving his stock in the Championship Game against Clemson tomorrow night before likely heading to the draft -- he has yet to declare -- as a Day 2 candidate. With multiple underclassmen declaring early, the tight end position is now among the strongest in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Welcome to Dallas Mr. Smith. :)

Iowa State redshirt junior WR Hakeem Butler declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Butler finished his college career with a dominant effort against Washington State with nine catches for 192 yards in the Alamo Bowl, although it did come in a loss to the Cougars. He picked up 60 receptions on the year with 9 scores, and the 1,318 yards show that he's capable of making big plays down the field. He's listed at 6-foot-6, 225-pounds, so he should be an excellent red-zone target as well. The questions will be about his athleticism, but right now, he projects as a Day 2 candidate who could end up going in the first round if he does test well.

I assume QB Daniel Jones.
If that's the case, no way he goes in the first round of dynasty drafts that aren't start 2qb leagues.  I don't see him going in the 2nd either, but it wouldn't be terrible if he went in the latter half of the 2nd round for QB needy teams.

So I realize this may not be the thread for this but I would love to hear how you guys got this many assets.  I'm in pretty good shape to load up on a deep 2020 draft so I'm interested in getting some blue prints from you.

Dr. Dan was just referring to the mock draft showing Miami taking Jones and it being a bad landing spot for him as a player and as a fantasy worthy QB. It may not be that bad if they upgrade receiver.

2019 NFL mock draft, post-National Championship edition

Excerpts on the offense  skill positions:

5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State | The Bucs should be smart enough to know that Jameis Winston is not taking this team forward in the NFC South. Haskins would have a good arsenal to work with and could immediately throw it around in a gunslinger's division.

9: Buffalo Bills — Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma | Get Josh Allen some help, and give the Bills some semblance of a playmaker down the field. Brown can run around, and Buffalo has to improve its offense.

10: Denver Broncos — Drew Lock, QB, Missouri | Lock is not a top-10 player in this draft class, but John Elway must figure out his post-Peyton QB issues. Lock will at least sling the ball around some.

15: Washington Redskins — Will Grier, QB, West Virginia | Alex Smith's future is not written in ink, and Josh Johnson is not an attainable option. Grier is the best available quarterback, and the Redskins have a solid enough defense that average QB play could vault them to 10-6.

16: Carolina Panthers — Irv Smith, TE, Alabama | The Panthers will have to move on from Greg Olsen in the next season or two, even if he attempts to play after two seasons battling foot injuries. Smith would be an excellent weapon for Cam Newton and would pair nicely with Ian Thomas, a mid-round pick in 2018 who had a solid finish to his rookie season.

20: Pittsburgh Steelers — D.K. Metcalf. WR, Ole Miss | Ben Roethlisberger did not click with James Washington in the same manner that he immediately did with Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster. Metcalf would find a role for certain in that offense.

22: Baltimore Ravens — Kelvin Harmon, WR, NC State | An outside, big-bodied receiver would loosen up Lamar Jackson, and Michael Crabtree is getting older. John Brown can take the top off, while Harmon can be the physical target.

*26: Indianapolis Colts — N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State | While T.Y. Hilton can move around formations, Harry will be an outside receiver in the NFL. He would compliment the offense very well and have a role early.

*27: Oakland Raiders (from Dallas) — Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia | Again, a position-by-position swap for the Raiders. Ridley's ceiling is low, but his floor is high. He would be a dependable, sound target for Derek Carr, who needs one.

*32: Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans) — Daniel Jones, QB, Duke | Ah, the last pick of the first round usually brings some type of "hmmm" selection. Jones can back up Aaron Rodgers and learn under new coach Matt LaFleur. He'll need some grooming before being a starter.

Texas junior WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Humphrey (6'4/225) heads to the NFL coming off a breakout junior season when he posted an impressive 86-1,176-9 receiving line while averaging 8.8 yards per target. Pro Football Focus gave Humphrey positive grades as a slot receiver, but he's also capable of making contested catches on the perimeter. Draft analysts also like his ability to break tackles and make plays after the catch, so an impressive NFL Combine will round out his draft stock as a Day 2 candidate.

I'll send ya a pm

I've read numerous places he won't get out of the top 10. And with a strong combine (which I expect) pretty sure that becomes a lock
I'm just reading Dane Brugler's latest mock on he posted a few hours ago and he has Jones as QB2 in the draft going to Jags at 7. This makes sense to me.

Also that article is behind a paywall but I posted the link in the Josh Jacobs thread but not sure if it will work.

I can fill people in for fantasy purposes because it's not much.

3 QB's in top 10. Haskins to Giants, Jones to Jags, Lock to Denver.

Other then the QB's a grand total of 3 offensive skill position players found their way in this first round and two went to the Raiders and none went to teams with usage of their original draft pick . He had Raiders taking DK Metcalf with the Bears pick and Josh Jacobs with the Dallas pick and Green Bay taking Noah Fant with the Saints pick.

I like Harmons size, but i cant stop noticing how he body catches almost everything. Makes me think NFL corners are going to eat him alive.
