[Dynasty] Javorius "Buck" Allen, RB BAL (1 Viewer)

What's the consensus after that dumpster fire?

Receptions make him a viable starter or flex, but has West taken over?

I survived, somehow, and need to figure out if I roll with him at flex or no

I'm dropping him. Dodds has had this guy RB6 in my PPR setting BOTH the last two weeks. Dodds ranks solely on snap counts so it seems and not production which has been terribly inaccurate.

Tremblay's early projections has him RB9 this week. Waiting to see if Dodds has learned.

I'll be dropping Allen.

I used Lacy last week over him and while it was the better worse call I'll have to find someone else on waivers.

Rather drop him and keep my opponent away from guys like cmike or Karlos or McKinnen than roster thia guy.
I'm dropping him. I doubt anyone picks him up.

Unless they read Dodds rankings of RB6 the last couple weeks and it didn't change all week.

RB9 early projections this week.

While guys like James White, C-Mike, Duke Johnson, Riddick are in the 20's because of snap counts.

If snap counts mattered then yes Allen was justified being ranked so high.

I can live without the 28 points he may give me, but cannot overcome another big fat zero. So hes on my bench.

Didnt drop, but did bench him.

Edit...nevermind.

Saw my opponent is traveling and didn't pick up McKinnon... (adp owner)

With Peterson not practicing, i pulled the trigger to block ..just in case.

Probably wint matter...but would hate to get beat because i didnt make the block.

Which means Asiata wull neat me or he will now pick up Buck and start him to beat me if Peterson misses.

Other than Harbaugh saying the he "won't be banished," (whatever that means) has anyone heard anything further on what his role might be this weekend? In the unenviable position of potentially having to roll him out this weekend.

There has to be someone, anyone else...

No posts since December... at this point are folks just assuming Allen is buried?  Forsett returns, Dixon drafted... where does that leave Allen?

Yeah, really muddy situation as evidenced by RB ADP: Forsett 36, Allen 42, Dixon 44. Quite the guessing game right now. Preseason will result in somebody's ADP jumping at least 10 spots.

Personally, I still really like Taliaferro as a talent. If he can get/stay healthy, I think he's just as good as the three mentioned above.

I still expect him to be the 3rd down RB this year. His long term outlook is sketchy, but he should have RB3 value in 2016 for PPR leagues, with some upside.

Don't they also have trent Richardson?  I mean, hey, what kind of a story would that be if he suddenly looked like he belonged in the league.  Muddy, muddy there for sure.

Yeah, supposedly Taliaferro, Terrance West, and Richardson are all fighting for the 4th RB spot.

Why would he be a third down rb?  Forsett and Dixon both catch and pass protect well (although Dixon has to show it on an NFL level).  They're competing for playing time moreso than specific roles.

What really gets me is that people are so willing to invest anywhere from 1.5-1.8 on Dixon and Allen as a guy who showed pretty well last year is a complete afterthought. Don't think I could get a mid second for him right now. I think a lot of people are going to regret such a high investment in Dixon. This competition is wide open.

More productive as a receiver than Forsett last year even though 6 of his starts were without Flacco. I don't expect Dixon to be able to take that role right away. I assume Forsett will stay on the team and start, and for them to run a committee in order to keep him fresh/healthy.

Forsett will be 31 mid season and has only played more than 10 games once in the past 3 seasons. Dixon may not do much this season, but he could be a good dynasty pick. To me Allen looked pretty decent last season and caught a lot of balls for a guy that only played 34% of the snaps.

Who knows

Buck got a ton of work.

The deceptive thing is in a shutout like that he got extra carries. And the receptions could be picked up by someone else moving forward. But a performance like this could be under the radar.

Anybody say Buck looks the "same". I own West, but kinda figured Buck, may be something in past. (Its kinda like end of bn, but I like rooting for hometown playas.) *Sorry for not reading whole thread, I may read more later. I just seen Saints post, and hoped too know more..

Who picked up Buck Allen this week on waivers and why? Who did you drop to add him?

I added him since I had Woodhead. It's a ppr league. I expect similar performance from Allen that was expected from Woodhead.

ETA I got him for $7 on cbs blind bid. Have $100 for entire season. I added him Wef night after no takers on Tuesday night. Perhaps could have had him cheaper but felt I need to get him, so bid a bit higher than I thought necessary.

Picked him and Kamara up and dropped Lewis and Burkhead. Volume of usage week 1 was encouraging, and I don't think it's a situation where West is the clear number 1 and head and shoulders better than Allen.

1/2 ppr

Dropped D Lewis for Buck. I also own West... small sample size but it looked like the Ravens were trying to get the ball out of Flacco's hand with running and short passing.

Moved DJ to IR to pick him up in a .5 PPR league.

Bid 28$, next closest bid was 26$

Javorius Allen - RB -  Ravens

Javorius Allen played 50-of-87 snaps (57 percent) Week 5 against the Browns.

He out-snapped Alex Collins by 23 and won the touch battle 14-to-13 including six catches. Getting work at the goal line and in the passing game, Allen might be the safer fantasy option of the pair moving forward despite being the inferior talent. He will be a FLEX option next week against the Titans.

Oct 8 - 9:15 AM

It's obvious to me that Collins is the better back, but more important is that the coach believes Buck is the better back.  Oh well.

Saints signed RB Javorius Allen, formerly of the Ravens.

The signing comes five days after Allen visited New Orleans. Coming off a truly dreadful year in Baltimore, Allen can stay on the field for all three downs and has caught at least 35 passes three of the past four seasons. Latavius Murray should serve as Alvin Kamara's direct backup, but Allen would be first in line to catch passes were Kamara to go down. That's if he makes the 53-man roster.

Saints placed RB Buck Allen on injured reserve.

Allen had not practiced to this point in camp because of an undisclosed injury. His spot on the roster was taken by Rob Kelley. It is likely Allen is released with an injury settlement at some point.
