Dynasty Rookie WR, Tier 2 (Bateman v EMoore v RMoore v Marshall) (1 Viewer)

Looking at countless Dynasty Rookie Drafts, I see in many that these WR slip, and get glutted together at a certain point (late 1st/early 2nd, League size dependant).

@Biabreakableran the polls here earlier in the offseason, which ran through 2.02, where by-and-large we saw this group going with the 1st 12-14 picks, across various League Formats (Standard, PPR, 2QB, TE Premium)

QB: Lawrence, Lance, Fields, ZWilson, MJones

RB: Harris, Etienne, JWilliams, Sermon, MCarter

WR: Chase, DSmith, Waddle

TE: Pitts

Although I see Bateman, and sometimes EMoore ranked higher, plenty of mocks and drafts indicate that Owners will pick one of the above Players (usually from the ZWilson, MJones, Sermon, MCarter group) causing them to fall where RMoore and Marshall are regularly taken. Bateman, likely due to people (wrongly, IMHO) valuing landing spot over talent, and EMoore possibly due to anti-Jets recency bias.

In any event, a point comes where a decision has to be made, and due to the above-mentioned group of 14 being gone, it's not like an Owner can deviate from the WR position. It appears the next group of QB, RB and TE, by and large, don't go until after this WR group has been sorted through.

What adds to the intrigue is the similarites I see between Bateman and Marshall...and between EMoore and RMoore.

Interested in how others might navigate said group. Ranking/Reasoning. Anyone?

Here is a link to the last poll.

My personal favorite of these WR is Rondale Moore but when push came to shove I voted for Bateman ahead of Moore mostly because of NFL draft position.

I would rank them

Bateman

R Moore

E Moore

Marshall

But I consider all 4 of these guys to be the same tier. Upside to become WR 2 for FF in the next 3 seasons.

I have Waddle in that tier as well. I consider Chase and Smith to be tier one WR who have the upside to become WR 1 for FF in the next 3 seasons.

I think Dyami Brown needs to be added to this list. And every year, and I mean year after year, it seems the best player comes from this group. AJB was in this tier in all my leagues for example, same with McLaurin....

Your leagues are different that the view points of the shark pool polls.

Post NFL draft AJ Brown was being taken at 1.06

Post combine AJ Brown was being taken at 1.04

I'm excited for Dyami Brown as a WFTskins homer,  and think he has a lot of upside, but he's nowhere near in the ballpark of an alll-tools prospect like Bateman and Marshall, and the slot hops of the Moore's.

My rankings and drafting followed similar to your rankings. Dynasty long term outlook and upside ranking

Bateman

R Moore

E Moore

Marshall

Though I think I could move Marshall up over R Moore since I do prefer the larger WR to the smaller quicker wr's for my teams.  But I drafted R Moore in that spot so my ranking should reflect that.

I'm all about talent over situation, which I feel is overwhelming consideration in dynasty...obviously, plenty dont feel the same way, or Bateman would be going mid-1st.

I like Dyami Brown as well but I wasn't really considering him in this tier either but its an interesting proposition.

Bateman looks like the alpha. Barely registers with this board (bc BAD landing spot) but he is tearing camp up.

Redraft discussions welcome here? These four of the six rookies I am targeting in the final third of our 18 round draft on 8/29. Not much interest in Smith or Waddle. The other two I like (we can make it a separate thread) are ARSB and Nico Collins - both will probably see starters snaps/targets in 11 formations. The latter s/b a RZ threat.

Taking into account ability and situation, I believe its Elijah Moore as top in this tier. To be honest, I would put him tier 1. Not everyone's game transfers over well to the NFL, but Moore's does.

I think people are underestimating Marshall here. Super productive in college, awesome athlete and unlike the others listed he has the size we usually see in WRs who perform as multi year WR1s. If Carolina gets a QB upgrade next year, Moore and Marshall could make a pretty amazing WR combo.

I wouldn't put him in Tier 1 yet, but I think he's in Tier 2 by himself based on the glowing reports we've heard all summer.  If that continues into the regular season, he's going to be the most sought-after WR of the players in this grouping, and may very well earn consideration with the Tier 1 guys.

At Pick 1.09 of a dynasty rookie draft, these are my primary considerations.  I don't necessarily love the situation for any of the 4 wideouts, but neither do I hate it.  Each of them has impressed in camp.  Rondale Moore plays in the most established passing offense of the four, but the passing game in Arizona runs through Hopkins, and a rejuvenated AJ Green could demand his share of targets.  Zach Wilson will undoubtedly have his growing pains, but his arm talent is for real.  He and Elijah Moore could develop a special connection which lasts many years.  I am not sold on Darnold, but I am also not yet ready to write him off.  He could bounce back, but Darnold will never be an elite passer.  I think we can pretty much conclude the same with Lamar Jackson.  Strictly as a passer, he will never be among the elite.

I have narrowed it down to Rashod Bateman and Elijah Moore (but the other two are by no means out of consideration).  If I were selecting today, I would lean toward Elijah Moore.  I believe his skills will translate well to the NFL.  He could be a target hog, and he can be a threat on the outside as well as underneath.  If he blossoms as Zach Wilson's security blanket during their rookie season, that connection could continue a long time.
