**Eagles at Giants**(+3, 42.5) 1:00 (2 Viewers)

By week 7, preseason suppositions should have worn off and people who watch football should have a sense of which teams are good and which are not.

But this apparently doesn't apply to the 2024 Philadelphia Eagles, who have some sort of cloak of delusion that leads otherwise smart people to believe they are a playoff-caliber team.

They should not be a field goal road favorite against anyone, especially a Giants team that is showing some fight.

And the history favors NY as well. (As a side note, this is the first time this matchup has occurred in October since 2020--these TV rating-magnet games are usually back loaded on the schedule.)

The Eagles have lost outright as road favorites in NY in 3 of the last 4 years (the exception being the 2022 super bowl year)

If you're braver than me you'll take NYG +140ish to win outright, but I'll play it safe at Giants +3.

A nice story. Eagles win by 20

Barkley's revenge game.
Yes,revenge is a thing in The NFL.
He probably wants 30 touches today.
Siriani may give them to him.
Just be very very careful as Elmer said.
You need him for the long haul.
Giants defense has played very well but might be missing Sexy and Burns, that would be a killer for them.
It's all about Saquon today in Jersey...

Pheagles- 30
G-Men- 17

Have to think the G-men gotta win this one or things are going to force a change. Eagles really have no business losing this game and yes the revenge factor. Giants probably put up a fight for a while but the Philly 4 headed monster on offense will feast so,

Eagles 24
Giants 17

I'll say PHI plays up to what we thought they should have been at the beginning of the season. PHI 34 NY 16

With DET losing Hutch, there is a lot of uncertainty in the NFC....I think PHI can still be a NFC Championship Game team....but they feel more like one of those "they could lose to anyone...but they could beat anyone" inconsistent marginal playoff teams.

In the past the Iggles are one of the few teams that will dare Daniel Jones to beat them in the pass game and sit big time on the run. Now the Giants have Malik Nabers and the Iggles changed coordinators, so maybe they won't do that anymore (No Saquon on the Giants also), but I can't see their D failing to contain Jones.

Need some shots from Fox on Mara giving Schoen the side-eye on Saquon's TD's.

Jones next passing TD at home...to his own team...would be his first since he signed for $160mm.

Eagles haven’t won by more than 14 since their win against Miami last year. I would be somewhat shocked if this is a blowout.
Yeah, it’s really hard for me to see this as anything other than a dogfight for the eagles to pull this out. Until they show that they can put together a good all-around performance, I expect very close games against almost anyone. I mean, they barely beat the browns last week and I don’t think the giants are really any worse than them at this time.

The Eagles record at MetLife stadium is actually a fact, not a suppositon

They were a playoff—“good”—team 3 of those 4 years. IMO they are not a “good” team this year, but I am frequently wrong as these threads attest

What is wrong with these anti-Barkley fans? Boo your gm
Brainwashing. They've sold themselves that RBs aren't important, Daniel Jones is a Top-10 QB and somehow Saquon "betrayed" the Giants.
Their former GM used the 2nd overall pick on a RB and the team was mostly not good thereafter. I can see how they would feel that way.
Paying a below average QB $40 million and not paying your star Leader RB who was carrying the O will do that every time.

EDIT: Not to mention the guys they had to release to pay for their mediocre QB.

That’s two plays now where Hurts failed to read the pressure and get rid of the ball. And that’s a bigger problem than usual when your starting LT is out.

Ezudu is proving the Giants coaching staff and front office have no idea how to evaluate OL talent. That dude is a guard not a tackle

At some point you'd think teams try to bump or double Mailk Nabers. Giants desperately need to establish some sort of ground game to help the "passing attack".
