Eagles D as a fantasy defense (1 Viewer)

Yes, Green Bay has a good offense. But Detroit led by Shaun Hill?

Just looking at stats, they're 23rd against the run and 23rd against the pass. In the bottom half of the NFL in just about every defensive category.

I'm thinking that if they don't shut down the Jags I'm dropping them and going with week to week matchups off the waiver wire.

I think you're seriously under-selling Detroit, at least on the offensive side. Detroit is going to put up a lot of points this year...it's the Detroit defense that will let that team down.

All dependent on MLB Stewart Bradley IMO. They are much better with him. If he's out (missed DET due to concussion and the last part of the GB game), they are awful.

Even if I agreed about Detroit (which I don't), can I reasonably expect the Eagles D to give up this many points on a weekly basis to teams that have decent offenses?

Bradley REALLY is a key to their defense. He helps with TE coverage and RB out of the backfield. As they got up on the Lions, the comeback they mounted (and yards accumulated) had more to do with them playing prevent-style D than a lack of talent. If Bradley is back and healthy (and stays that way) it should turn around. At least, I hope they do since I own them in one league.Anyway, their value is also contingent on your scoring system. If you get bonuses for sacks and turnovers, they'll still get you some points there. Giving up yardage is something they've kind of always done though. Usually they are good at holding the points down but DET had a good showing this week.
