With the Eagles committment to the run, how will this impact Westbrook, McNabb, WR's, etc.? Any insite?

RB Westbrook Fully Healed, Ready To Run LINK

HC Andy Reid has said he plans to run the ball significantly more than last year, when the Eagles called passing plays an NFL-high 73 percent of the time. Reid also said yesterday that RB Correll Buckhalter will get a healthy amount of work once the regular season begins. “It feels a lot different now with the commitment to the run,” Westbrook said. “It's going to remind people of 2003, when Duce was still here.” Westbrook, who hasn't played since hurting his foot a month ago, said he's fully healed and ready to go Sunday.

honestly, it's a good thing for all parties involved.. McNabb, Westbrook and the WR's.

Career year for Westbrook.

He might pull a Roger Craig: Topping 1000 yards rushing and 1000 receiving.

i hope you're right...i'm targetting him at 2.01 since i have no first rounder and need a second tier RB with top 10 potential...CBuck is what worries me, i.e. GL vulture, so i feel if you draft westy you'll need to grab CBuck late

I'll believe it when I see it. After every game last season Reid stated that they needed to run the ball more. Next game same thing - guy just can't help himself - he loves the pass.

I'm not sure why so many people think the Eagles have suddenly changed into a running team. There is no commitment to the run here. That's just not how this offense operates. They are a throw first team. They aren't going to take their injury-prone RB group and attempt to pound the ball against anybody. This offense is built around McNabb. As he goes... so goes the Eagles offense. Westbrook, if he can stay healthy, will be rock solid because he's a great dual threat. As a Philly fan... i certainly hope they don't try and get him the ball 20 times a game, or he'll likely have a short season.

The Eagles could run significantly more and still not be a "running team" or have a commitment to the run. I would not get excited about them running more, because it would difficult for them to run mess than they did in 2005.
