Eagles running back Brian Westbrook missed practice for the second day in a row due to knee inflammation. Westbrook is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in San Francisco against the 49ers.
Last week, Westbrook left the Eagles Thursday practice early and didn't work out the rest of the week. But he played in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the New York Giants. Westbrook totaled 124 all-purpose yards.
Eagles cornerback Roderick Hood, who is isted as doubtful with a heel strain, attended practice but stayed on the sidelines.
Cornerback Lito Sheppard, who missed the Giants game with a right ankle sprain, didn't attend practice. He is also doubtful for this week, leaving the Eagles thin at cornerback.
The other player besides Westbrook, Hood and Sheppard who didn't practice today was tight end and long snapper Mike Bartrum, who has a knee injury. Bartrum is listed as questionable.
Tight end L.J. Smith, who suffered a shoulder injury early in Sunday's game but returned to action quickly, practiced today. Smith had missed yesterday's practice.
Joselio Hanson, who filled in for Hood when he was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's game, will likely start opposite Sheldon Brown at cornerback. Dexter Wynn, who was re-signed by the Eagles prior to last week's game, would play the nickel, and Dustin Fox, who was promoted from the practice squad on Monday, would serve as the Eagles No. 4 cornerback.
The theme of the week for the Eagles is one of forgetfulness, meaning that they have moved on from the disappointing details of Sunday's loss, when they entered the fourth quarter with a 24-7 lead.
"We are not looking at that," linebacker Jeremiah Trotter said. "We had a couple of days to think about it, and now we're concentrating on San Francisco."
The Eagles realize that it's a much different 49ers team that they routed last season, 42-3, at Lincoln Financial Field.
The 49ers are 1-1 after last week's 20-13 win over the visiting St. Louis Rams.
"They're a very aggressive football team and show you a lot of different looks on offense and defense," Eagles coach Andy Reid said about the 49ers. "They're flying around and playing with a lot of enthusiasm."
The rest of the players listed on the Eagles injury list, including L.J. Smith, are all probable for Sunday. They are guard Shawn Andrews (shoulder); wide receiver Reggie Brown (hamstring); defensive end Darren Howard (knee); safety Michael Lewis (quadricep); running back Reno Mahe (ankle); safety Quintin Mikell (thumb) and wide receiver Donte' Stallworth (hip).
