They both should be productive RBs in 08, but Im not crazy about them beyond that. I think if youre drafting them in a dynasty they will probably go in the 4th or 5th rds( at least thats where ive got em) because of their age and uncertainty about thier future as feature RBs. If youre trying to deal them in a dynasty leagueI am having trouble ranking these 2 guys. Any input?
Love Graham in PPR leagues....love em.
No one, and I mean NO ONE is giving an ounce of respect for the dimension that Warrick Dunn is going to add to the Bucanneers Offense.I'm not saying anyone's wrong, per se, but I'd take the ultimate 'wait and see' approach on Earnest Graham before committing to him based on what Dunn is bringing to the table...and this is coming from someone who has been absolutely puzzled that Earnest Graham took so long to make any impact in the NFL, and who was very pleased that he performed so well when given his chance last year. The acquisition of Warrick Dunn has the potential to change everything:Smart, savvy veteran with excellent vision and ball skillsLocker room and huddle Leader and overwhelmingly positive force inside Huddle, Team and CommunityNot as much mileage on the tires as almost ANY player who's logged as many years at his position, moreso due to quality complementary talentOutstanding, underrated receiver and quality blitz reader/pass blockerI was very high on Graham until THE DAY Warrick Dunn was signed by the Bucs. I now predict Dunn will log a MINIMUM of 40% of the overall touches in the Rushing Offense, and project at 48 catches (3 per game average) based on the assumption that Jeff Garcia will be the majority Starter in 2008. Based on other randomly distributed carries through the Team's RB's QB's and WR's, I'd say that projects to about an even split between Dunn/Graham as a baseline, with Dunn getting overall more total touches than Graham, due to his inclusion in the passing game. Gruden will be the 1st Coach Dunn has had, since the last time he played for Tampa Bay, that will utilize him to the fullest extent of what he's capable of producing.Purely speculative, of course, as it's a new situation...Now, with the NYJets, it's a different story. We all saw the Jets last year, with TJones and LWashWe've watched the Jets resist temptation, and develop their Team in the offseason the way a quality organization does...from the Lines out, and by building on what's already there. We also all saw how underutilized LWash was in last year's offense...I LIKE both RB's and think it's a shame they didn't utilize Washington more. Circumstances certainly merited he SHOULD HAVE gotten more play. I honestly don't think the Jets know what they have in him. On the other hand, I think they are generally 'football smart' and know what they have in Thomas Jones, which is why they acquired him in the first place, and are sticking with him now, and...A. They didn't feel the need to address RB in the Draftand B. Did what they needed to do to give Jones the support he needs to display those skillsBased on past history, and current situation, I'd take Thomas Jones over Earnest Graham in BOTH redraft and dynasty. Thomas Jones, in my opinion has both current value (although only short-term, due to age) and a potential to hold value/lose value less rapidly than Graham based on his own current, and presumably future, situation.Basically, for what both have left to give, I'd bank on Jones to give me more over the productive time period remaining for both of them, than Graham. Those of you who are high on Graham, I respect your opinions, but I ask that you keep a wary eye on Dunn.He was not brought in, or is he coming in to accept, a backup position on that Team.I like Graham, by a decent margin in a ppr.
We must have been watching a completely different player last season. Dunn looked HORRIBLE and is a year older. He was brought in to be a backup/insurance, and as a 33yr old with no other options he was happy to accept that role.nittanylion said:Those of you who are high on Graham, I respect your opinions, but I ask that you keep a wary eye on Dunn.He was not brought in, or is he coming in to accept, a backup position on that Team.

Nittany, I'm not buying that they brought in Warrick Dunn to start. He is a quality, experienced backup who will help that team.......but he is not the kind of runner Graham is for that team and he's not the kind of guy who will get the tough yards or goaline carries. I'll even go farther and say he isn't the receiver that Graham is right now either out of the backfield. Maybe back in the day, but Graham is going to catch about 50 balls this season, something Dunn hasn't done in 5 years.Agreed about the good guy and locker guy. Before he singed with Tampa, I thought he'd make a nice 1 or 2 year backup in Dallas.nittanylion said:Iwannabeacowboybaby! said:Love Graham in PPR leagues....love em.No one, and I mean NO ONE is giving an ounce of respect for the dimension that Warrick Dunn is going to add to the Bucanneers Offense.I'm not saying anyone's wrong, per se, but I'd take the ultimate 'wait and see' approach on Earnest Graham before committing to him based on what Dunn is bringing to the table...and this is coming from someone who has been absolutely puzzled that Earnest Graham took so long to make any impact in the NFL, and who was very pleased that he performed so well when given his chance last year. No, he won't.Graham is the easy choice.Barring injury to T. Jones he will put up top five numbers.
