Electronic Cigarettes (3 Viewers)

Jesus...aside from the coupon codes, this thread has moved wayyyyyy beyond me.
lol...join the club. I dont think Ill ever move beyond the V4L/Bloog style PVs...and Im thinking that another couple of months and Ill probably be done with e-cigs altogether. Im finding myself vaping less frequently already, but Im sessioning more now (Im taking 8 or 9 hits in a row, then none for an hour or so). Once I run through the juice I have (and have on the way), Ill see how I feel about it.I think these are actually helping me quit smoking and nicotine altogether, which is way beyond my expectations when I discovered vaping :)
That's the goal, at least for me. Getting all of these addiction monkeies off my freakin back. But, it's one step at a time. Going to vaping was and IS a big step. After this, it's baby steps. I really do think I needed a mod to stay off the analogs. I still get some cravings, but less intense and less frequently as time goes by. I do beleive I was the heaviest smoker of our little FBG quitters group. Getting off nicotine will take... as long as it takes. I don't pressure myself on that, but unlike most of you, I DO put all the pressure I can muster on never, ever, ever having another analog. It isn't the caboose that will kill me... it's the steam engine.

I haven't even been around smoke since I stopped. I have no real idea if the smell will make me crave or make me gag. I'm in no rush to find out, either. 3 weeks tomorrow baby, THREE weeks! :D
I work in Boston right across from the Garden so on game nights (Bruins, Celts, there are quite a few smokers around. I hate the smell more now than when I did when I was smoking. It's funny I have this slight urge to inform them about this invention that I discovered. To me, it only seems like they just don't know about it. If they did, they'd be vaping. Why wouldn't you be?I'm already trying to tell myself not to pressure my smoking friends too hard about getting into this. I'm sure they've heard of it, but like me, thought it was just kind of a "breath in water vapor and blow it out" sort of thing. When I golf this spring with my buddy I'm going to try and get him to try it. But I'm afraid he may take a quick drag and it isn't the same or he'll just shrug it off without giving it a chance. He's got 3 kids in a small apt.. He and his wife both smoke and I'm SURE that if they've allowed themselves to be a tiny bit patient they would toss the analogs. No more going outside in the freezing winters. No more butts laying on the ground. No more buying pack after pack of $9.00 cigs. But I've got to just let it go if he's not game.
 I was on a business trip last week, and for two days in a row at my hotel, the same woman got on the elevator with me, reeking of smoke. I really wanted to spread the gospel, but I also don't want to be that guy, the former smoker that everyone hates.

When do you guys realize a cart is done? For me it's when I start to taste a strange burnt sort of taste mixed in with the vape. Usually it has nothing to do with the "smoke" or TH. Those seem to stay after that odd taste starts to mix in.
Yup, same for me. Once I hit the burnt taste I might try a tiny bit of juice to see if it was just empty, but more often than not the cart is shot.

Is it better to not let it get to that point? I guess it's an experience thing. Like use a cart for a night, and put it aside and refill it. Let it get to 3/4 empty then stop vaping it. Although you can't tell if it's 3/4 done (at least I can't yet) I'm wondering if it might be a good route to take.

Yep, that's it for me. I also notice it gets a little hard to hit. But the little burnt taste is the sign to get another one going.

I don't think when the burnt taste comes in the cart needs to be tossed. I just refill. I know some say you can only refill 2 or 3 times, but I've filled one in particular 5 times and it still seems fine to me.

Is there a consensus on what to do with a burnt tasting cart?I think I went too long on a few of the ones in my first order, I know some of them developed a bad taste to one degree or another. I don't know what would be burning on the inside of a cart, I'm a little concerned about what it could be made of...not sure if this is typical or means the cart should be tossed.

Ive rinsed a couple burnt tasting cartos in really hot water (my water gets scalding hot) and blew them out and let them sit for a few days and it took care of the burnt taste in one but not the other.Too much work though, now if I get that taste I toss it.

I'm using much less nicotine while at work. Fewer breaks, and now I only take a few drags rather than smoking a whole cigarette...just enough to get me through the next couple of hours. When I'm at home, or driving, its completely different. Pretty much chain vape while on the road or at my PC. Still, the fact that I'm moderating my nicotine while at work makes me hopeful I'll eventually be able to cut the nicotine down to nothing. (Or maybe an occasional vape).

I chuck them at the first taste of burn. I'm actually frying a lot of V4L carts early being primarily on the USB. Carts definitely last longer with my batteries. I need to move to refilling early, and topping off. Cunk, I'm with you that I would enjoy keeping vaping in my life at this point but hopefully not the way I've been with cigs. Maybe with golfing, poker, bars, the things I really enjoyed with smoking. The rest of feeding my habit I could do without. I don't want to get ahead of myself though, I enjoy this thing a ton right now and it's serving a gigantic purpose. I couldn't be happier being off cigs and not craving them one bit. If I find it difficult to manage the vaping as much as I'd like, so be it.

Letterman just told a joke that led in with some law that outlawed OUTDOOR smoking, and half the audience clapped in support of that before he got to the punchline... sheesh.

I am now VERY wary of a carto getting emptied. I had a really bad experience with this a couple of days ago. I didn't realize this particular carto was done. I took two HEAVY long vapes on it. The taste was revolting. Burnt plastic, and it stayed with me that evening, all night in bed, and into the next day. It was freakin horrible. Brushing my teeth, listerine spray, nothing could get rid of it, and was about as nasty a taste I've ever experienced. It was like stuck in my lungs. Since that happened, I top off my cartos all the time. If the top of the wick is white, more drops. This is less of a concern with these Ikenvape mega cartos. They take about 2ml's, and I've been topping them off regularly. I never want to have that taste in my body again. Good lord, it was bad. If these things have a health risk, I think it is vaping on an empty carto. I'm tellin ya, that was like toxic waste taste. I very carefully track my cartos now. If there is even a HINT of off flavor at all, I either toss it or top it off, and then very lightly vape it to be sure it isn't burnt. When it happened, it was so bad I was ready to try to stop vaping. It really was awful. After it wore off, I just made up my mind to be UBER cautious about it. Don't let these things go dry. If you aren't sure, top it off, or throw it out. You really don't want to suck these bones when they don't have any juice left in them.

Man....that higher voltage must be pretty wicked...Ive smoked a handful of cartos dry and got the burnt/plactic taste, but it was nothing as bad as what you described. Yes it tastes bad, but its nothing a fresh hit cant erase.

That wasn't on my MOD... it happened with a V4L manual. I was till getting good vapor, had no idea it was dry. Took two HUGE vapes.... and hell came upon me.

Gadabout, you fondness for dripping is a reminder to me just how highly personalized this vaping is. In this thread we have people happy with 808' ones that have gone or are going to MODS, and some that are dripping with each variation. This is definitly not a one size fits all thing. And that is just the hardware part of it. Then there are the flavors, the nic dosage and on. Glad you found your sweet spot.
I can't stand the fact that there might be an even better vaping experience out there that I'm not trying. I thought I was done spending money for a while. Son of a #####.
Those Reo Grands are pretty sweet. Had I not got caught up with all that Eclipse madness I would probably already have bought one. That system just seems to make the most sense to me and my needs. The one thing I did do right so far was purchase that eGo-T system. I no longer use the atomizer and tank setup that it came with due to performance issues, but the eGo batteries are very diverse and I'm mixing and matching them with the loads of ego accessories that are available out there. Plus I can use any other 510 or 306 atomizer/cartomizer out there. This is what allowed me to branch out and really find what I liked most. And when I drip, I'm using my ego batteries (3.7v, one is 650mah and the other is 1000mah). I have three atomizers in rotation right now. The LR 306 (1.5ohm), LR 510 (1.5ohm) and the standard resistance 510 (2.5ohm).The 306 is probably my favorite.
When you use the SR 510 atty with the 3.7 battery, are you finding any increase in vapor production and/or TH compared to vaping off a cartomizer? i guess what I'm asking is : does the increased flavor and punch come from the act of dripping, thus removing the cartos' filler material from the equation, or is it coming from the increased amperage of using a LR atty or higher voltage battery?

EG, the only advantage of the Infinity over the Buzz is looks and size. The advantage of the Buzz is slightly lower resistance cartos and a bit more power, but more than that it is the design construction. One guy said he dropped it 25 feet onto concrete, and only had to replace the batteries. Another story is a guy who dropped one off a motorcycle at 60MPH, and it still worked. It really is built like a nuclear fallout shelter. The IkenVape 808 mega cartridges:Sweeeeeet. About the length of a condom longer than the V4L cartos. The draw is better than either the WOWs and the cool carts on my PT's, my 808 batts and on the Buzz (without the adapter I needed for the cool carts). On the Buzz I am noticing a slight improvement in vapor production and flavor. TH is about the same. They hold at least 3ml of juice, maybe more. You can fill right from the juice jar, but you have to wait for it to wick. About every ten seconds add more juice. Then let it sit for an hour. Add more juice. Let it sit for another two hours. They hold at least 3X's the juice of a V4L carto. It vapes cooler than a standard carto. Very pleased with these so far.
I am really torn on whether to go for one of these and a tank mod, so as to give myself 2 days of non-stop vaping on a single charge/fill or whether to go with a box mod to "drip without dripping." Leaning towards the latter right now, but I want to be sure I'm going to get the performance boost you talk about with the buzz as well, because that's important to me with many of my weaker (100% VG) juices.

New juice review : FSUSA Wyatt Earp.

WOW. Now here is the most unique juice I've tried thus far, and it's not close. I traded my 30ml caramel tobacco for 25 ml of this and I am SO glad I did. I freaking love this juice. I'll talk production first. Probably has the best TH of any juice I have - the 24mg Vapor Station Tennessee and VS4 are the only ones that come close (except the pre-filled Bloog Red cartos.) Vapor production rates an 8 and TH is a 9.5. There can be no denying its power. You called down the thunder, well now you've got it.

Now the taste is where many will disagree. It's so incredibly potent and so unique in flavor to anything else I've tried, that I get a feeling there will be no middle ground here. You'll either love it or hate it. The flavor is so intense that you can fill a carto you were using to vape another flavor and no remnants of the original flavor are going to creep in. Conversely, I have a feeling that once you fill a carto with this, it's become a Wyatt Earp carto, plain and simple. I doubt boiling would be able to remove the last vestiges of Earp flavor from your carto. (Side note : I tried boiling last night for the first time, let them dry overnight, filled one with 15 drops this AM and am getting no vapor production from it. Perhaps I need to let it dry further?) OK, so to describe the flavor is difficult. First taste I get is that of black licorice, but not quite as sweet. Right away, I know licorice is a polarizing flavor (I love it) so if you're not a fan of anise, licorice, whatever - then pass on the Earp, IMO. But licorice alone doesn't really capture it. Wait, what's this? A flavor I can't pin down, but it feels familiar. Took me a while to decipher but I eventually realized that it tastes like leather smells. Ever walk into a leather shop and there's that powerful permeating aroma of fresh leather? It's that, distilled down into flavor. Then, it finishes with what I would consider to be a hint of clove or other spice. The wife said she picked up some fruit flavor in it, but I don't know what the #### she's talking about.

If you're intrigued, I'd recommend a sample size bottle or trading with someone for it. I imagine it may be very easy to trade for because I could easily see people hating this, especially if they hate black licorice (and I know many people that do.) Me? I'll be buying more when it's gone, for sure.

Now run, you cur. And tell the other curs that the law is coming. You tell them FSUSA's Wyatt Earp is coming. And Hell's coming with it, you hear? HELL'S COMING WITH IT !!!!

With the SR atomizer I definitely get more vapor. Flavor comes out a little more and TH seems to increase a tad. The vapor, to me, is what stands out. As soon as I screw on the LR atty the universe seems like it presses play on 'Dream Weaver' and a bunch of happy, little animals come sit next to me, swaying their heads in unison.

OK, so then your recommendation if I were to get, say, a REO Grand, would be to use LR atomizers on it. Maybe I'll go this route rather than the Buzz/Infinity.

With the SR atomizer I definitely get more vapor. Flavor comes out a little more and TH seems to increase a tad. The vapor, to me, is what stands out. As soon as I screw on the LR atty the universe seems like it presses play on 'Dream Weaver' and a bunch of happy, little animals come sit next to me, swaying their heads in unison.
OK, so then your recommendation if I were to get, say, a REO Grand, would be to use LR atomizers on it. Maybe I'll go this route rather than the Buzz/Infinity.
Definitely. Doesn't the REO run at both 3.7v and 6v? I don't know about which kinds of atomizers you'd need for the higher voltages but a low resistance one at 3.7 should work wonders for you.

I think (but am not sure) that it runs at 3.7 if you use a single battery (18650 maybe?) and at 6v if you stack 2 3v batteries. You can't get one anyway, evidently - the entire site is out of stock and apparently there's a waiting list.

These look very interesting. I like the idea of having the bottle of juice along for the ride. Hmmm...

2 realizations in the last couple days:

1: Ive been switching back and forth for comparison, and I no longer prefer the V4L Cool Carts over the WOW carts. The WOWs put out more TH, more flavor, and more vapor. And I like the fact that they get a bit hot. Warmer vapor = better vapor, IMO. The only drawback is they need to be refilled or topped off more frequently. Im going to order some Bloog carts this weekend to give those a try.

2: For me, throat hit trumps vapor production. Weird huh. Ive tried a couple juices that had 50% or more VG, and even a 100% VG juice and Im just not a fan, especially the 100% juice. That one was a waste of time. Almost zero TH. Seeing vapor does nothing for my craving - if I dont feel the hit, there was no hit. In fact Im thinking about ordering some 100% PG juice to see just how heavy TH is with no VG. So far my 80/20 Waffle keeps outperforming every other juice Ive tried.

My juice variety pack should be here today or tomorrow. Reviews to follow.

I tried boiling last night for the first time, let them dry overnight, filled one with 15 drops this AM and am getting no vapor production from it. Perhaps I need to let it dry further?
Yup. It will take a couple of days to dry completely. Same thing happened to me the first time I did that. Also, reverse-Taryn spinning as much water out of it as you can after the boil will help it dry faster, but Id still give it a couple days.Wyatt Earp doesnt sound like something Id like to try, but great review, man. Im a fan of leather taste in juice though, I think I mentioned that in one of my posts about Halo's Torque56.

I just boiled some carts to clean them out last night. Thy seemed pretty dry this morning. I am also noticing a huge decrease in vapor production. I will let them dry longer next time. I didn't really have the option since I have to wait for the Bloog blanks to come back in stock.

You really ought to try these IkenVape mega 808's. The hold 60 drops, or a bit more than 2ml's of juice. The vapor production and flavor is better than V4L cartos. I did not expect that. They are about a condom length longer than the V4L cartos. They wick quickly. If you don't taryn spin them they do need to sit and wick for a few hours though. The draw is better as well. Not near as airy as the cool carts. They have more than twice the juice capacity of regular 808 cartos. They vape cooler too. I usually take two big vapes, long draws, and the WOWS just get a little too hot on my Buzz mod. I am now settled into what I want in hardware. A Buzz, and an Infinity on the way, V4L PT's on the computer and in my truck, and my 2 V4L manual 808's and these IkenVape mega 808's. This is going to be it. Not gonna buy any more hardware. No box mods, no drip tips, no nuthin. I have what I need and it's time to stop buying hardware. It's just 30ml jars of juice from here on out.

Someone at ECF recommended "baking" the boiled carts for a while at 170 F to dry them out as well. So many techniques... I just hope I didn't ruin the carts I boiled yesterday. Although, I guess I COULD throw them out, I have 40 and haven't tossed one yet.

I love all the advice. I'm really going to consider getting a mod just because I'm really struggling to get a consistent vape. I'm also getting sick of the process involved in refilling the cartos. I'll probably wait a litlle since I've already put such a large investment in what I currently have. I'm also a little nervous about the mods since it's whole different learning curve.

these work on the V4L batteries? Any cons that you can tell so far? What do they cost and where do you order them from? TIA

There is NO learning curve with the Buzz. Charge up the batteries, put 'em in, screw on an 808 carto, and vape. Can't be any more simple. Now, after you do that, you can play with the voltage which comes set at 4.5 volts. I haven't touched mine at all yet. You don't have to have a voltmeter, you don't have to change anything, but that capabilty is there. There is ONLY one downsdie to the IkenVape megas. They are about a condom length longer than the V4L cartos. Other than that, these are better across the board. http://ikenvape192.corecommerce.com/All-Cartomizers/IKV-MEGA-KR-808-Cartomizer-p97.htmlOn Satuday he finally got stock on them, about 300. He's down to 100 already. They are the best cartos on the market. No, I haven't tried them all, but in the Notcigs forum, it's unanamous. These IkenVapes are the best you can buy.To repeat: 1. Holds more than twice the juice of a V4L, over 2ml's or about 60 drops. Less refilling of cartos. Less chance of burning a carto dry. 2. Vapor production and flavor is better. TH is close to the same, maybe a small notch better. 3. Totally compatable with any 808 native connector, I needed an adapter to get the V4L cool carts to work on my Buzz, these fit all of my stuff, the V4L autos, manuals, PT's and my Buzz with no adapter. 4. The draw is exactly like a cigarette. The cool carts are too airy, the WOWs get too hot on my Buzz. These are ideal. They work great on all of my PV's. People also rave about his other carts, 501's whatever. Many have told me his carts are the best. I believe. He only sells blanks. With a Buzz and an Iknevape mega cart, I can go out to a pub, vape like a madman all night, and still be good to go in the morning without topping off, changing carts, batteries, nuthin. This is what I've been looking for. Performance, convenience, durabilty and long hours of vaping with only one PV and one carto. That is what the Buzz and an Ikenvape mega do for me. GREAT vaping, no muss, no fuss, just one PV and I'm set. I also ordered an Infinity from Not cigs (same company as the Buzz) a sleeker looking, smaller VV mod for use when I might go somewhere fancy, or a formal affair of some kind. The Buzz I would bring to work, the Infinty out on a restaurant occassion. I highly recommend these IkenVape mega cartos.

Just ordered 5 IkenVape megas. Might make my XL quite long but sounds worth trying since I want to start ordering larger quantities and filling.

Bought a carton smokes yesterday. I don't know guys. I'm falling in the Fro camp where I found myself vaping much more than I ever smoked.

I'm not sure vaping is a good solution for the light smoker. Then again, I was never a light smoker. I think if you are a light smoker, and want to quit, you should try to vape only when you used to smoke. Treat them the way you did cigs, only use it outside, whatever. I can understand how a light smoker could actually increase their nicotine addiction, since they can vape anywhere with little restriction. The answer I think, is to use them the same way you used cigarettes. Don't vape inside. Don't vape anywhere you couldn't light up a butt. The temptation is I am sure great... but lung cancer and emphazema... that's how my father and mom went out, respectively, and it aint pretty I can tell ya. COPD is a real beach too. At 56 years of age, it may be too late for me, I may still die the way my parents did, but at least now I have a way to fight back, and let them bones roll. Let's see what numbers the die land on. You could also go with zero nicotine if you find yourself vaping too much, or even 4mg stuff. I have some trouble relating, as I was a freakin chimney.

even if you vape twice as much as you smoke, its still cheaper, no? and healthier...
I think it's healthier but it makes my lungs feel worse.

I'm sorry to hear that brother. Good luck quitting. I started when I was 13 and was up to 2 packs a day by the time I was 20. Quit for 4 years and then started up again. Coincidently, that is right around when I got married. :goodposting:

I don't know many light smokers who buy cartons. Hey, to each his own. Personally, I'd wear a perma-patch or continuously chew nicotine gum to my grave if I thought it would help me get off cigs for good. I'm far more fearful of the non-nicotine ingredients in smoke. Going back to cigs is ruled out as a solution even if I become a vapoholic. For me it would be like going back to the bottle because I find myself drinking 12 cans of O'Douls a day. But some lucky SOBs have a different relationship with cigs, and those who can smoke in infrequent moderation - more power to them, this might not be for you.

$3.00... $12.50 total for 5.
Any idea how many times you can refill them? I like the Cool Carts more than the Wow, but I've never bought blanks.Maybe I'm lame, but I like the Hilton and the RY4 18 nic. I just refill whatever cartos I have with those juices, regardless of what was in them initially. Sometimes you get some really "interesting" flavor. But I haven't yet had one I couldn't vape and enjoy. Then again, maybe my taste hasn't come all the way back yet..... :welcome:Oh, and I'm starting week 4 analog free today, like all the other 210ers....

Weird, I got my coffee sampler that had the caramel mocha frappe - I like it but it has a faint cordial cherry taste to it. I liked the cordial cherry freebie I got 2 weeks ago but was hoping to enjoy a caramel after the reviews I've seen on here. I'm not really tasting caramel, chocolate or coffee in this cart. Definitely a stonger TH than other coffees I've tried at 18 though.

could be a mislabeled cart

I just ordered 10 of them. Thanks!

I should not have told you suckers about the Ikenvape megas... he was out of stock for almost two weeks, and now... well, good thing I got 20 of 'em.

I have no idea how many refills they can take. I have changed the way I do refills after I had that bad experience with a very burnt carto. I used to vape 'em dry. With these, I am topping them off and will vape them until the performance declines. I have settled into 4 flavors. I just top them off as I go now. I have some other prefilled flavors to try, but I doubt any of them will be mainstay juices for me.

I might end up with 6 flavors I like, and just stick to those. Then I just top off until I think the cartos are done. I can vape on the mega 808's all day, then top off overnight. Works out well so far. I never ever, ever want to vape a carto dry the way I did several days ago. Nastiest thing ever.
