Since my cable is out 24/7/365, I went over to the forum. I had forgot what your username was there but quickly figured out which thread you started.My take on iton't beat yourself up. I smoked Reds for 16 years solid (1.25 - 1.5 pack a day). I couldn't smoke anything less than a Red because it just wouldn't do it for me. Taste, nicotine, and throat hit were just not there. On Sunday I was out with a friend and she was smoking Marlboro Lights. Out of curiosity I asked her if I could have a few drags just to see what it tasted like. It SUCKED. Bad. Like, bad bad. I only made it to the two-drag point before I gave it back to her. It just tasted like pure chemicals. It was harsh. Back in the day, if I had no other option but to smoke a Marlboro Light, I'd have to cut off 3/4 of the filter or just remove it entirely so I could have something that rivaled the fix of a Red. I got tapped out by a Marlboro Light. Moral of the story: You're not missing out on anything.

I have a question for whichever of you vaping PhDs in the thread feel like answering: When boiling the carts to get out the old flavor, do you think the glue from the label redistributes to the filler material?

Maybe it's a silly question, but It popped into my head when I was thinking about starting the filling process to cut down on cost.

Also, have any of you noticed or felt that this juice was coating your lungs? I've been going back and forth as a kind of trial period and, even if I haven't had any for a day, I can still taste the flavor if I cough a little analog love out of my lungs. I'm a little wary about spackling the lungs any more than I already have.

Of course, I also had to buy 2 LR (2.0) Cisco 510 atomizers and 2 LR 306 Ciscos, a 1.7 ohm LR Bauman 510 atomizer, a clear drip tip for each type of atty, a 510 to 808 adapter, an 18650 3000 mAh battery and a charger.

$220 later, I'm now up over $600 on vaping in one month. Would have spent about $150 on cigs. I now will have 4 78mm auto Bloog batteries, 1 65mm Bloog auto battery, an XL V4L manual battery, a passthrough, the box mod, 40 cartomizers, 5 atomizers, almost half a liter of juice, and a tacklebox. I also just grabbed a couple dozen 2 oz glass bottles with marked droppers and a bottle of liquid stevia from work so I can begin DIY juice creation next month.

Also, just thought I'd mention that where the V4L XL manual was hitting like Albert Pujols when I first got it, it seems to have leveled off some. I was using it earlier and was getting bigger vapor hits, warmer vapor, and better TH from the Bloog autos than from the XL. Now, the price and lifespan of the XL can't be beat, but I am definitely preferring the Bloog autos, even though they're a few weeks older. I get better hits even with the 5 second cutoff than I do with a 7 to 10-second hit on the XL.

I also tried using the passthrough connected to the car adapter earlier and it was giving off a very unpleasant "burnt circuit" taste, so I think 5V may be too much for the lower resistance (2.2-2.5 ohm) Bloog cartos. Seems to me that the 1.5 amps I'm getting off the 3.7V battery may be just a bit under what I'd call ideal, and the 2.0-2.2 amps off the USB are too much, so I can see why most VV mods cut off around 1.9. I'm thinking that the 3.7V mod with 2.0 ohm attys will give me a sweet spot around 1.85 amps.

Did you get the 306-specific drip tip? Those differ from the 510's. If you can get serious with the DIY stuff, you're set to start saving a lot of money. Just keep telling yourself that.

Did you get the 306-specific drip tip? Those differ from the 510's. If you can get serious with the DIY stuff, you're set to start saving a lot of money. Just keep telling yourself that.

I got a 306 tip and a 510 tip. The mod comes with a black 510 tip, but I got clear on both so I can see juice coming up through it and know when to back off so as not to flood the atty.

Not me, pretty confident I got the best manual XL in the box. I'm getting hits as good as USB, and not frying carts left and right. I love this thing. So much consistent power.

Have you cleaned the XL? Mine hasnt dropped off yet, but I clean the threads, the 3 holes around the threads, and the groove around the outside of the post every few days.For those that dont know this: Theres a little groove around the outside of the battery post...My batteries get gunked up in that groove with a greeninsh sludge from hot and heavy vaping and I clean it out every few days. I take a sewing needle or staple and scrape it all out, and clean the 3 carb holes...I clean those holes after I clean the groove, sometimes scraping the sludge with the needle causes the hole to get kind of spackled shut by the sludge. I also use rubbing alcohol and clean the threads about once a day. An old toothbrush with a little bit of alcohol works as well, just be careful to not get any inside to the batteryAlso, I take a piece of paper towel or tissue and roll a corner up as long and skinny as I can with my fingers, and stick that up into the battery hole and twist...The tip always comes out with a bit of juice on it, no matter how careful I am to not get any in there.Youd be surprised how cleaning the connector end of a battery can sometimes improve draw and performance.

Not me, pretty confident I got the best manual XL in the box. I'm getting hits as good as USB, and not frying carts left and right. I love this thing. So much consistent power.

I felt the same way a few weeks ago, to the point where I was recommending people buy those batteries and Bloog MF carts and leave the kits altogether, but recently, it just hasn't been performing up to snuff. Maybe I just got a beat battery, but it sucks because I was really enjoying blasting away on that bad boy.

I've got my boiled cats producing goo vapor now. I just kept adding more juice and letting them sit, since it looked like the were kind of dry after the first fill sat for a while.

Why are you guys even bothering to boil cartos and the like? I can understand cleaning atomizers for dripping, they cost 8 or 9 bucks. An Ikenvape 808 mega costs 1.85. With only refilling 3 times, that's about 9ml's of juice, about a third of a 30ml jar. Even for a heavy vaper like me, 30ml of juice has to be a two week supply. Using 3 cartos and one jar of juice means my cost is about $9 a week, or less than $1.30 a day. Is it really worth the time and trouble to boil used cartos? To save maybe another 10 cents a day?

As for the V4L manuals, mine are still working fine, no drop off in performance at all. I never use the autos anymore.

Bloog cartos are not for me. I don't think the LR atty's they use are good for 5 volt PV's, PT's or mods. The Ikenvapes work great on all my PV's and PT's. The Bloogs might be better on my V4L 3.8 volts PV's, but hardly worth the trouble of managing inventory that way.

I wanted to try boiling the cartos because supposedly, it gives them a whole new life. People have reported (at least with the MaxxFusion) being able to get 20+ fills out of a single carto. If I only get 3 fills out of it, I end up buying 7 cartos to every 1 I'd have to buy if I clean them. Since I have 40 of them, that means ultimately, I'd have to buy almost 300 cartos by NOT cleaning them. Granted, that's over the long haul, but we're still talking $700 here. Dropping 20 of them in boiling water for 15-30 minutes and then drying them takes very little effort. I spend enough time sitting around watching TV to do this at the same time. If it proves to be too much of a PITA, I'll stop.The Bloog cartos are designed specifically to wprovide maximum performance on a 3.7V battery. They work beautifully at 4.2V (fully charged Bloog auto will crank at 4.2V for a short time before settling in at 3.7V.) As I mentioned yesterday vaping them on a passthrough at 5V produced a "burnt circuit" flavor. Unpleasant. They're too low resistance for 5V - if you primarily use 5V, they're not going to be worth buying. They'll probably work at least as well, and probably better, than the other carts (although I don't know about the Ikenvapes yet) on a 3.7, but if the Ikenvapes work well at 3.7 and 5.0, just buy those - no reason for you to use the MaxxFusion. I find they outperform the V4L carts significantly on my 808 batteries because of the lower resistance, but the very thing that makes them great at 3.7V makes them basically unusable at 5.0V. I never use the passthrough, and the mod I just bought is going to run pretty much exclusively at 3.7V, so they're great for me.

I'd be very careful with that. This stuff is enjoyable, and a proven stop smoking alternative (for me), but if you hardly ever smoke I suggest wiping this thread from your memory. These things could well addict you to nicotine.

I only have 3 Bloog Carts. I have a buch of v4l carts but they don't work nearly as well for me. I ordered more Bloog blanks but they are out of stock. They said there shipment was delayed about 3 weeks. My boiled carts are working fine now. I can't wait to get the ikenvape carts. Since I got the Ikenvape I'm cancelling my order of Bloog carts. I'll probably get some when theyre bac in stick, but I won't need nearly as many..

Juice review: Backwoods Brew Applewood (18mg), unknown PG/VG ratio.

Light straw color, doesnt look too thick. Id guess a 70/30 mix.

Aroma: Sweet Granny smith apple and maybe a touch of cedar.

Taste: I get a nice crisp, clean granny smith apple taste. Not overly sweet but not overly flavorful either. Just a nice mellow apple taste. On the website, I see Applewood Tobacco listed, but not just "Applewood", and Im not sure if this is supposed to have tobacco flavor or not, because I dont taste any at all. Just apple. Im not even getting any wood or smokey flavor like most reviews Ive read. I know this doesnt need steeping as I bought it "used", so Im sure the flavor wont change from this point on. As understated as the flavor is, the apple flavor IS delicious, I just wish there was more of it in the juice.

TH: Pretty mild. Id say about a 6/10, not as much as I like.

Vapor: Very good VP. Id say 7/10

Overall: BWB is known for having mellow flavors, nothing really overpowering, and Id say this juice holds true to BWBs reputation. Nothing earth shattering, but a nice change of pace juice with a nice subtle, crisp, clean flavor. They are also known for complexity in their juice, but this one is pretty one-dimensional. Im getting NO other flavors at all - no wood, no smoke, no tobacco. It kind of feels like a palette cleanser, like a bit of sorbet between meal courses.

Bottom line: Would probably not buy again, although Ill enjoy this 10ml bottle. If Tasty Vapor made a juice in this flavor, Id be all over it as theyre known for intense flavor in their juice, and I think this would be an instant favorite if the flavor was kicked up a few notches. Its a very tasty flavor; BWB did a nice job with not making it a candy-type juice, its just a little too understated for my taste.

Taste: I get a nice crisp, clean granny smith apple taste. Not overly sweet but not overly flavorful either. Just a nice mellow apple taste. On the website, I see Applewood Tobacco listed, but not just "Applewood", and Im not sure if this is supposed to have tobacco flavor or not, because I dont taste any at all. Just apple. Im not even getting any wood or smokey flavor like most reviews Ive read. I know this doesnt need steeping as I bought it "used", so Im sure the flavor wont change from this point on. As understated as the flavor is, the apple flavor IS delicious, I just wish there was more of it in the juice.

TH: Pretty mild. Id say about a 6/10, not as much as I like.

Vapor: Very good VP. Id say 7/10

Overall: BWB is known for having mellow flavors, nothing really overpowering, and Id say this juice holds true to BWBs reputation. Nothing earth shattering, but a nice change of pace juice with a nice subtle, crisp, clean flavor. They are also known for complexity in their juice, but this one is pretty one-dimensional. Im getting NO other flavors at all - no wood, no smoke, no tobacco. It kind of feels like a palette cleanser, like a bit of sorbet between meal courses.

Bottom line: Would probably not buy again, although Ill enjoy this 10ml bottle. If Tasty Vapor made a juice in this flavor, Id be all over it as theyre known for intense flavor in their juice, and I think this would be an instant favorite if the flavor was kicked up a few notches. Its a very tasty flavor; BWB did a nice job with not making it a candy-type juice, its just a little too understated for my taste.

Damn - I was on their site a while back and didn't realize that was them. I remember seeing all this about the doublers and such and thinking that it would make for a pretty good value buy as long as you can figure out the math, which for me, is a non-issue.I knew that all those years of advanced math would come in handy someday ! I tried a few right after I started vaping, but it's been over 2 weeks since I had one. Don't think I'll be doing that again. I can smell the smoke on smokers now and it's kind of repulsive. I cannot believe that was me not that long ago. But I swear I'll never be "one of those" ex-smokers who look down on those who still do. I didn't like them at all. To each his own. I'm using a Wow 18 Cappuccino today. Nice vapor but almost non-existent TH. The flavor is good, but I'm missing the TH.

Yeah, I've had the same experience with WOW Capuccino 18. I've had 1 or 2 carts of it that gave some TH, and it's better on my USB, but really that and the cafe mocha seem to have the lowest TH of the coffees for me. Not bad in the evenings or a once in a while flavor alternative, but probably could not be my all day vape. I have found myself really liking the regular Coffee flavor. I'm going to order a bunch of that as I've only had it twice in sampler packs.

But you went back for one more roll in the hay with the fat chick. Stevie, I saw your post in the Ikenvape forum... if you intend to stay with the V4L 808's, I'd suggest the LR mega 808 cartos. The higher voltage oners would work fine, but you'll get more TH, flavor and vapor from the lower resistance (lower voltage) ones. They are 2 Ohms, the others are closer to 3. So get the lower voltage megas, although you will some some slight drop off in battery discharge time.Either way, they outperform the V4L cartos in all areas. They hold twice the juice. Since I am using 6 volt mods, the higher voltage megas are better for me. They work fine on the V4L batteries too, but the LR megas weould be better on them.

Have you guys tried the spin method when refilling carts? Apparently it gets a lot more juice in there and is ready to vape right away. Basically you take one of those latte foamer sort of things (it seems in the video a spinner is made just for doing this) and then spin the cart which is at the end. I actually have one of those foaming things and am sure I could rig it up to do this.

I use the syringe. I like it but it seems the needles I got aren't long enough to get to the bottom of a 30ml bottle. So when the needle won't reach I drip. I spin, but I just kind of windmill my arm about 20 seconds then put a few more drops in. I need a little bag to do a proper Taryn spin.

Well I was getting a little jealous of you guys actually having a "tobacco free" date. Not any more, my wife and I both put the cigarettes completely away on March 1st. For my wife that was her first time quitting since she was 13 years old(46 now). We now have our date and we are on our sixth day tobacco free. I wish I had gone the route some of you other guys did and just went straight vapor as soon as I got my starter kit. I was keeping my first thing in the morning and last thing before bed cigarettes as a crutch. Those ended up being like a prize to crave and look forward to.

The vaping for me is not better than a cigarette, but it does make quitting tolerable. I still "want" a cigarette but I think I can make this work. I don't believe I can get the nicotine amounts from vaping unless I go hit it every 20 minutes or so. I have some very high nicotine level juice on the way(36mg) to see if this makes the cravings ease a bit for longer periods. It does seem to be getting a little easier, but I want some strong stuff for my triggers(after meals, first waking up). I think I still haven't hit my perfect flavor/strength combo yet.

On a side note, we got in some 555 carts from Bloog a while back and we finally just had to throw them out. They stunk up about half of my house just from opening the box that contained the sealed cartomizer packets! That stuff almost made us all throw up. I cant imagine anyone having these in their house. Like rotting peanuts but 100 times the smell. Really wierd because no other flavor has had any smell to speak of.

Congrats! I'm coming up on two weeks now, I think it gets easier the longer you are off cigarettes. Try to go without them completely for a few days, they will start to smell gross. Its a good idea to have a high test cartridge lined up for those strong cravings.

Maybe I missed it, but where did find this variety pack? Trading over at ECF? I just placed an order from Vapor Renu, their reviews are mixed but seem to be better as of late. Tons of flavors, and at $7.50 per 30ml I can afford to make a mistake or two finding something that suits me.

I ordered Swedish Fish(!), Watermelon, Heath Bar, and Butterscotch. All at 16mg, with varied mixes and throat hit. I have some bottles coming too so if anyone wants to swap juice let me know.

Like you, I could never say I wasn't getting urges, sometimes strong ones for a cigarette. I ended up vaping mostly 36mg stuff, and that held the urges in check pretty well, although not completely, especially if I am enjoying a brew, something I probably do too often. Getting the Buzz mod also helped me a lot. Tons more vapor, flavor and TH. Thursday will be the 4 week mark for me, and the other 210'ers here. The urges are fewer and less severe with each new week. It gets easier. In fact, it gets a lot easier. I think the key is to get what works for you. For me that is a mod like the Buzz, 36mg juice and mocha 'anything' flavors. I also like the V4L Dunhall sometimes. I do not like any of the other flavors as every day vapes yet, but still have a few more on hand to try. Cola sucked. So far so do the fruit flavors for me, along with the pina coladas and all that stuff. I have a bunch of stuff I will likely never use, like the cola. Congrats on getting a week under your belt. It does get easier. Remember that. I can smell things now I never smelled before. That has upside and downside! LOL. I almost never cough and I used to hack away to the point of gagging, choking and even occassuibally puking. That's what 3 packs a day for decades will do for you. Stick with it, you and your wife are doing GREAT! And it does get EASIER!

Mrs T's Bakery: I saw one thread where a posted was livid and complaining about their juice. Just one post though, so I dunno.

I don't bother with the taryn spin, although I may do it for if or when I start cleaning cartos. I saw a video for using the spin to DRY a washed carto. You get one of those carboard sleeves you get on a hanger from the cleaners. You cut it to a little longer than a carto, and the carto fits tightly inside. Then you attach some string to holes in the end of it, and spin it. Hard to describe, but the video in in the V4L forum. This gets all the water OUT of the carto for immediate refilling with juice.

Once my syringe can't reach juice still in the jar, I just squirt it into a very small bowl. I'll use that to fill the syringe and do several cartos at once. Then I just do a little dripping to top them off. A test tube would probably work well.

Then you attach some string to holes in the end of it, and spin it. Hard to describe, but the video in in the V4L forum. This gets all the water OUT of the carto for immediate refilling with juice. Once my syringe can't reach juice still in the jar, I just squirt it into a very small bowl. I'll use that to fill the syringe and do several cartos at once. Then I just do a little dripping to top them off. A test tube would probably work well.

Yeah, I think I saw the post about Ms. T you are talking about, but there a lot more raving about her flavors. I see German Chocolate cake in my very near future. She mixes to order apparently so it will take a week or so (maybe longer) to get them. I'm going to wait until my wife gets home and let her choose a few too.Heck, I'm only on page 9 and can see 10 or more flavors I want to try.I boiled 5 of my cartos yesterday and dried them in the oven. They are working as good as new. I had my wife make me a little pouch so I could spin the cartos I'm refilling and it really does work good. Seems you can get another 10 or so drops in there that way. I like the syringe, but just putting drops in seems like it's working better for me. I don't know which method I prefer. Experimentation is kinda fun...
