Vaping Day 1 complete. Have an eGo-T type B. I have no idea what it means, but it worked and no analogs today. It feels good not smelling like a crusty sweatsock all day.

Some good ones! I'm thinking to start with one of the passthroughs like Tecumseh did--having that to vape at the desktop would save the mobile batteries for standard fare.

It's also 5V vs. the 3.7V you get with a battery. It's great, but make sure you replenish carts often using PT because mine tended to burn out very quick. Still loved it though. If anyone gets a manual USB PT, let me know how it is.

i have a question for you, bigjim. i read this thread on and off, and i think you are the one who was hiding regular (analog) smoking from your wife in the past (sorry if i have you confused with someone else). anyway, if it is you, how did she not smell smoke on you? even if you wore gloves and brushed your teeth afterwards, your face would still have a smoke scent to it, as would your hair (if you have any). did you shower prior to letting her get close to you?

Wow, I have to really set my pride aside here to answer that (I know, WHAT pride?). But basically it was a combination of wearing waterproof wind breaker, hats, golf glove... put immediately in a dryer with a scented dryer sheet. Masking of scent using scented lotions, cigars when at our cabin or golf/poker outings, and there are a lot of other scent masks (campfire, gasoline, dryer sheets). On the go I'd do it in the 50+ MPH car with a cracked open window that sucked everything right out, and frequent visits to gas station rest rooms. And yes, immediate showers if I did it at home when she left for an errand. Like I said, WHAT pride? I used to lie awake at night praying for a solution. It's humiliating for me to type that out but OTOH it might put into perspective why ecigs were such a miracle for my life and mental well being. Funny, it just occurred to me I have not dreamed about cigarettes in the past 2 months, which was pretty frequent before.

Thanks for that. It is liberating, but it's hard to admit living like that. But boy, I loved smoking and surely would have been a 1.5 PAD smoker if single, without kids. And I can still do the ninja thing with stealth vaping. I stealth vaped standing back-to-back with my wife as we prepared dinner tonight.

Congratulations! I really appreciated features with the eGo-T but I suspect I've got a type A--don't really know, but my guess would be that the B either has a stronger battery to handle the original atomizers, or it has a low resistance atomizer which has more recently come onto the market. If you're getting full vapes without really having to work it then that sounds likely.

Meanwhile I'm trying to set my collection up for longer term that I won't have to worry with it awhile. I've got a couple tank batteries and carts, and also a pair of the Cisco LR atomizers w/drip tips that Gadabout turned us onto. My first thought is to get a pair of the LR eGo tank atomizers, I suppose with new tanks, to work off the batteries I've got. Most complete site I saw those at is nicfitnation out of Canada. Anyone familiar with them? I was also thinking to order a couple new batteries, and want another charger so I don't have to keep carrying my box of stuff with me everywhere!

Regarding the eGo-T's, Hawt Angel has a good demo of the wick adjustment that some are doing.

This morning when I woke up, about 9:30am, I put a fresh battery in the REO and hit it all day long minus the four hours I was at school. Got back home at around 6:30pm and screwed this thing on, and my battery was at 3.9 volts. Screwed the 510 2.0 atomizer into it and it came back at 3.7 volts. Pretty cool lil doodad.

Note, though: You'll probably have to get a 510/510 extender in order for this to work on the REO.

His first attempt failed when a ripped envelope came to my house with nothing inside . This time he put it in a more secure shipper and it made it no problem

First off, this thing is long. lol. But easy to get used to. Second, I swear it took over 60 drops to fill . Third, WOW. Better vapor production than any V4L cart Ive tried so far, and I like the fact that I can smoke on it for almost a whole day without having to put more drops in it. 2 big thumbs up on these things.

I think Im sold on them, my next carto order will be these badboys. Jim, which carto is this one specifically?? Thanks again for the hook up!!!

I took a chance on the Seattle Blend. Went with that, Maiden Coffee, and a sampler of Watermelon Jolly Rancher (my favorite candy on earth so giving it a shot). Not expecting to be blown away but worth a shot at 30% off.

Glad you like it The specific ones I have are IKV MEGA KR-808 Cartomizer STD. Others here ordered the LR's and found them not to work with the XL batteries. The one thing I still need to figure out is how to clean such a huge cart. Seems particularly difficult with thicker V4L juices (e.g. Capuccino) but a little better with coffee/expresso. Even boiling for 10+ minutes has not completely done the trick; the filler at the top of the cart looks new, but blowing through the cart still has some darker colored juice spraying out. It's a bit frustrating, because they are so good out of the box, there must be a way to bring them back closer than I am. Oh well, I read a bunch of suggestions I plan to try. But at this low cost, even being disposable is a decent deal as far as I'm concerned for how well they work.

My quitting was derailed a bit, lot of stress lately and I'm poor at coping with it without my crutch. I'm in on a V4L set. At least if I'm going to suck at quitting, I'll make it healthier and use this as a stepping stone to requitting. :(

I'm not - but it is a bummer to have made it 8 weeks only to slip up though. One piece of advice for anyone that does manage to quit - don't even have one. I have some strong willpower which got me through 8 weeks cold turkey, but not strong enough to avoid slipping back some once I broke down and had just that one. :( On the plus side, it's been light and I'm not smoking a pack a day like before so this should be easier than the 1st time.Already did place the order. In the meantime, I turned another smoker onto these things so he gave me a spare battery and a couple cartos until my order gets in so I'm analog free once again. This time planning to stay that way, and will hopefully be nicotine free soon.

I had always thought the USB pass-thru was kind of neat, and might be nice to have. Now that I have one, HOLY CRAP!! This thing is awesome! Tons of vapor, no recharging bs, and, best of all, it works even when my laptop is turned off. That means on my 10 hour sales trip today, I set my laptop bag on my passenger seat, and blasted away, without having to worry about keeping a spare battery charged. Magnificent.

On the negative side- do not order Dr. Pepp, V4L's answer to Dr. Pepper. It has some kind of weird fruity taste. I don't know what the hell it is, but it ain't Dr. Pepper...

Yeah, if you're going to vape as a stepping stone, don't get a REO. It'll probably be in my hand when I die. Never thought vaping would be close to as enjoyable as smoking. Just wanted something I could use indoors, at work, in my car. Unlike many who smoke, I actually loved smoking. But I think I like puffing on my REO more. I'll never smoke another cigarette but I don't see any end to vaping now that I've got it down.

V4L cartos are fine for USB. You just need to stay on top of it if you go beyond V4L or comparable small cartos. IKEN Megas, which are larger cartos, should not be used as they use the full 5V USB puts out, and can overheat the computer. Coolcarts/Premiums seem to handle the power level better than WOW in my experience. Cartos do seem to burn out more quickly at that 5V power (vs 3.7 V in your battery). As Tec mentions though, the power is pretty neat. I've also found you sometimes need to switch USB ports if you aren't getting good consistent power, but maybe its just the ports in my computer.

Yeah, I would not be overly concerned. There are transmissions between banks with any card transactions so it's impossible to know how or where my account info was hikacked, whether the source of the breach was the merchant or a bank, etc. Just mentioning it so others who purchase with these merchants pay more attention to their statements, on the outside chance there was a breach to their systems.

Have a question as well - was reading earlier in the thread that the ikenvape cartos don't work with USB passthrough and can nuke your stuff. If I roll with V4L cartos on it, it should be fine though right?

V4L cartos are fine for USB. You just need to stay on top of it if you go beyond V4L or comparable small cartos. IKEN Megas, which are larger cartos, should not be used as they use the full 5V USB puts out, and can overheat the computer. Coolcarts/Premiums seem to handle the power level better than WOW in my experience. Cartos do seem to burn out more quickly at that 5V power (vs 3.7 V in your battery). As Tec mentions though, the power is pretty neat. I've also found you sometimes need to switch USB ports if you aren't getting good consistent power, but maybe its just the ports in my computer.

What about hooking it up with a Cisco LR306? I just ordered a passthrough with the intentions of giving it to a friend at work as an upgrade to the inhalers her doctor put her on.

Anybody? I sure can't afford to fry one of the computers here at work, where it would be used. Bought a Joye eGo passthru for use with the Cisco LR306 atomizer...

Im not too worried....I use a card with a small limit for online purchases, so the most they could take me for is $500 anyway, and if its overseas I can easily dispute and have it reversed.

The purpose of a low resistance atomizers is to get a 5v vape from a lower voltage battery. I've read that if you use a LR atomizer on a 5v battery it will destroy the atomizer. If you use it with a pass thru it can not only destroy the atomizer, but also the USB card or motherboard.

Hi folks, we've been seeing some failures with eGo, vGo and 016 batteies and low resistance atomizers/cartomizers.

The problem appears to me to be a compatibilty issue between certain batteries and atomizers.

Low resistance atomizers are meant to simulate a higher voltage device on a 3.7 volt device but there are limitations.

Low Resistance atomizers are never meant to be used with 5 volts as the wattage and current draw will be excessive as well as the atomizers/cartomizers will not last very long due to the heat produced at 5 volts. Low resistance atomizers should never be used with a 5 volt passthrough.

We're finding also that low resistance atomizers/cartomizers are causing pre-mature failures on eGo, vGo, 016 or other mosfet driven batteries. Mosfet driven devices are designed to work with 2.5 ohm or higher atomizers/cartomizers.

As an industry we sell products but can't control how they are used. eGo, vGo, 016, regular e-cig batteries and similar devices all have short circuit protection but do not account for excessive current draw which eventually weakens the components and causes failure.

A shorted cartomizer/atomizer *should* never cause a battery to fail due to the short circuit protection of the device (including protected batteries on mods). The only other states that an atomizer or cartomizer can have is that the actual resistance is either correct or the device has burnt out which would give an infinite resistance.

Shorted atomizers are actually a very rare occurance unless manufactured incorrectly.

What this means is that we can't blame a specific product for a failure. It's a combination of incompatible products that's causing premature failure of components.

The main problem is really lack of clear guidelines on use of the products and compatibilty issues.

Unfortunately low resistance devices are here and they screw in, so people will continue to use them, sometimes with undesirable results.

Just want folks to understand that low resistance atomizers/cartomizers are not defective but are sometimes being used beyond the scope of what they were meant for.

Most devices other than battery mods do not come with LR atomizers/Cartomizers as a kit. As the failures pile up, I think we'll see more warnings/guidelines with low-resistance atomizers/cartomizers and mosfet driven batteries in the near future.

Order came in and I'm in business. Ordered some blank carts and juice along with everything as well so I'm in business for a while.

WOW Cola - Reviews said this was like gummi coke bottles. Have to say, I agree. Nice throat hit, makes it feel a little fizzy, and good amount of vapor. Liking this one a lot.

Dunhall - Buddy gave me one of these. Most people here seemed to not like it, but it gives lot of TH and vapor. As a Winston smoker, this seems kind of in line with what I was getting from cigs.

555 - Also from buddy at work. Not all that much TH or flavor unless I toss it on the USB passthrough. On the USB it's not entirely terrible and has kind of a sweet flavor to it, but still relatively weak.

I ordered up Dunhall and 555 juice based on my buddy's recommendations. A little disappointed that I have all of this 555 laying around now, but I'll pawn most of it off refilling by buddy's carts.

Ive read that its better to keep juice in a cool (but not cold) dark place. Also, juice will last about 2 years before the nicotine starts to degrade so I dont think ya need to worry much. I think juices with creme flavors can go bad sooner than that though.
